• adding org.springframework.test package to spring-2.5.6-SEC01.jar in netbeans

  This is probably very simple, however I can't get this to work. I want to use AbstractDependencyInjectionSpringContextTest class which is in org.springframework.test package. This package is not included in Netbeans' spring library, so I want to add it. So what I have tried so far is: copy and paste "test" directory (downloaded from spring) into the Netbeans' spring-2.5.6-SEC01.jar file (copy it to org.springframework directory in that jar so I can use org.springframework.test to import it). If I go to project/libraries in Netbeans it is there, but when I try to import org.springframework.test.*; the autocomplition doesn't give me the option to choose test directory from org.soringframework package. create a new library which points to "test" directory and add it to the project- as there is no any jar file in "test" I'm not sure what path should I use to import it. I'm pretty sure this is something very simple but I'm still a novice and can't figure this out.

• Imitating Multiple Inheritance in PHP

  I am working on my own MVC framework and found myself stuck. I need the following construction: Controller -- Backend_Controller -- Backend_Crud_Controller -- Frontend_Controller -- Frontend_Crud_Controller Both 'Backend_Crud_Controller' and 'Frontend_Crud_Controller' have the same functionality and thus they should extend another class named 'Base_Crud_Controller', the only difference comes from the 'Backend/Frontend' Controllers which implement different mechanisms. Basically they should inherit both classes but my problem is that 'Backend/Frontend' controller doesn't necessarily extend 'Base_Crud_Controller'. I know multiple inheritance doesn't exist in PHP but I am looking for a solution, I choose to refrain Mixins (like in Symfony) as I don't consider that an elegant solution. Interfaces do not suit me as all of these end up as concrete classes that should implement methods.

  Hi. Suppose stackoverflow.com wanted to have an RSS feed per each tag. They would probably have requests like stackoverflow.com/rss?tag=aspnet to return appropriate RSS feeds. This is the easy part. Now when the user requested stackoverflow.com/rss?tag=aspnet he would see some XML. Instead it would be better to show a page where user can choose which RSS reader he wants to subscribe with (just like feedburner.com). My question is: is there any ready-made code (html+javascript) that I can copy-paste to create such a subscription page? Basically I want to copy feedburner.com's subscription page onto my own site. PS - I would be happy using feedburner.com, but it would require me to create a feed for each tag manually, which is impractical.

• Which of the two ways should I use to insert tags into mysql?

  For each ad, I allow users to choose up to 5 tags. Right now, in my database, I have it like... Posting_id TagID 5 1 5 2 5 3 6 5 6 1 But i was thinking if I should make it like... Posting_id TagID 5 1 2 3 6 5 1 Then first option is much easier to insert and retrieve data. But if I have 100 posts with 3 tags each, that's 300 rows...so ALOT more rows The second option requires using explode() impode(), etc but it is much cleaner. Which option should I do and why? thanks!

Y can construct Lessthan, LessOrEqualThan etc equivalents as Expression has this operators predefined. ¿How can I transform this code to do the same with strings? Expression don't give me a predefined operator like "contains" or "startwith" and I'm really noob with Expression trees. Thanks, and please Post your answer in C#/VB.   I have a base class and a derived class both in design phase. The base class will remain one but many derived class will inherit from it. So it's very costly to make change to derived classes in the future and I'm looking for the best design to prevent this. In fact derived class only needs a few methods to override (if needed) but it's tempting to reveal more details to it. My question is about the policy which is extensible in future. Can I minimize the inherited methods/properties to derived class and reveal more in the next versions if needed without any change to derived classes ? Or I should reveal anything that maybe used by derived classes in the future and let them to choose if they need them or not ? Thanks

  With a DataContext and a blank file-based database that already exists, is it possible to write the Data Context classes (i.e. the ones I added to the designer) to create the db schema? With a data context I only see the abilities to either: create a new database file and have its structure created at the same time, or to populate data into an existing database having preexisting schema. I'm looking for a hybrid solution between those two worlds. Update 1: My proof that a preexisting db is not compatible with the Data Context CreateDatabase() operation is this error Database 'C:...\App_Data\IntermediateData.mdf' already exists.   I don't know if I'll pass all the necessary information here, but I've only been asked to post this question here and I'm not entirely onto the matter. There is a .NET Framework 2.0 application compiled in the Debug mode with the parameter jitDebugging set to true in app.config <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" /> After any crash we get the dialog box allowing us to send a report or to debug the program. When we choose to debug and select proper VS, the IDE starts but with the announcement: No symbols are loaded for any call stack frame. The source code cannot be displayed. and Disassembly cannot be displayed in run mode. Is there any possiblity to see the code or the spot where the crash has occured?

• Git: Make one branch exactly like another

  I am relatively new to Git, and I'm still not very comfortable with it. Right now, I'm looking for the command/options/magic that can make the current branch look like another branch; that is, to merge them, but when a conflict arises, to always choose the difference in the branch that is being merged into the current one. My situation is thus; I have an stable(ish) application on the "master" branch. I also have another branch, called "feature". I basically want to make changes/additions/deletions to feature until I like the new feature I'm working on. Once I feel it is ready, I want to make the master branch look identical to the feature branch. I know this probably isn't a best practice, but as I said, I'm new to Git. I plan on learning how to do more complicated things in the future, but for now, this is all I need. Thanks, SO!

• Jquery persistent css selector equivalent to '.live()'

  So today I just came across the 'live()' function that binds any future and past elements to the whatever event you choose, such as 'onclick'. Right now I'm having to set up buttons like the following each time I load a new button via ajax ... $('a.btn.plus').button({icons:{primary:'ui-icon-plusthick'}}); $('a.btn.pencil').button({icons:{primary:'ui-icon ui-icon-pencil'}}); $('a.btn.bigx').button({icons:{primary:'ui-icon ui-icon-closethick'}}); So, instead of calling these lines each time I use ajax to add a new button, is there a similar way to tell JQuery to setup my buttons ANYTIME I add new ones?   Hi, I would like to create a web based regional map that would enable the user to click in order to choose a region on the map, and will also have some visual effect (resizing, etc) when hovering over one of the regions. I want the map to work on desktops and mobile devices. I'm having doubts regarding the best technology to use here when I'm mainly considering traditional image maps vs.SVG. Image map are more widely supported, but any animation that effects only a single area in the map must be hacked over. SVG is a more natural fit, but is not supported by Android (old IEs can work using svgweb) Any advice? Any other option I'm overlooking?

• Selenium selected option in dropdown not displayed correctly

  I have the following issue with Selenium Webdriver. There are two dropdown menus on a page i am testing "brand" and "items". The options of "items" depend on which brand you choose. I am trying to iterate through all possible choices and print brand-item pairs. I use two possible ways to pick an option from each dropdown menu Using Select(): def retryingSelectOption(name,n): result=False attempts=0 while attempts<5: try: element=Select(driver.find_element_by_name(name)) element.select_by_index(n) print element.all_selected_options[0].text result=True break except StaleElementReferenceException: pass attempts+=1 return result And using .click(): def retryingClickOption(name,n): result=False attempts=0 while attempts<5: try: driver.find_element_by_name(name).find_elements_by_tag_name("option")[n].click() result=True break except StaleElementReferenceException: pass attempts+=1 return result My problem is that at ,what seem to me as random moments (sometimes it works sometimes it does not), even though the above functions return True and printing out the selected option shows me the correct answer, the browser still displays the previous option. So basically Selenium tells me i have picked the right option but the browser displays the previous one.No idea what is wrong.

  I'm trying to make a simple log in/ log out web application with maven and I'm creating the project with the command: " mvn archetype:generate " and choose 341 and it'll be created with the structure below: webapp -----src/main/java -----Referenced Libraries -----Maven Dependencies -----src -----target pom.xml But when I add some dependencies and update the project something weird happening with the structure of the project according to the picture below: webapp -----src/main/java -----Referenced Libraries -----JRE System Library -----src -----target pom.xml and it's not working any more. As you can see the the first one has a Maven dependencies Library but the second one has been changed to JRE System Library. I use mac os lion and eclipse indigo. Anyone how knows why is like that?   I'm relatively new to flash, and is confused about what I should use to store and retrieve key value pairs. After some googling I've found various map-like things to choose from: 1) Use a Object: var map:Object = new Object(); map["key"] = "value"; The problem is that it seems to lack some very basic features. For example to even get the size of map I'd have to write a util method. 2) Use a Dictionary What does this standard library class provide over the simple object? It seems silly for it to exist if it's functionally identical to Object. 3) Go download some custom HashMap/HashTable implementation from the web. I've used a lot of modern languages, and this is the first time I haven't been able to find a library implementation of an associative array within 5 minutes. So I'd like to get some best-practice advice from an experienced flash developer. Thanks!

  hi, some bad legancy web application projects still have classic asp files. these project consist of 95% of classic .asp files and the rest only of asp.net (.aspx). if you right click on an .aspx file in the solution explorer of VS you can choose "view in browser" and "browse with...". however if i right click on an classic .asp file there, there is no such option! do you have any tip/hint/addin for me so that it will show these two context menu entries also for .asp files? i run all my projects in IIS not the build in casini web development server VS comes with! thanks, toebens

• Unable to import example projects from book (newbie question)

  I am trying to import projects from a book "Beginning Android 2" but when I choose the root directory the "Finish" button is still grayed out. I've tried importing the project from scratch with no success, and I've also tried to create a template project with the same name and everything and then importing into that (Import existing projects into workspace) but it always says "No projects are found to import". The contents of the folder are: Res folder, src folder with .java file, the manifest, build, and default.properties files. I am new to android dev (obviously) so I appreciate the help.

  Very simple question from one somewhat new to Java: when adding an event handler (or whatever it is called in Java) to a Control, MUST it be an object? I mean, in C# I can do control.event += System.eventHandler(methodThatHandlesEvent) Sure, that's because we have delegate types in C#, but I was wondering if I can choose which method would be called when an event is raised in Java? I mean, in Java I can have something like control.AddActionListener(objectWhichClassImplementsActionListener) And then I have the stupid actionPerformed method in this class, which is the only method that is called. I know, there are more kinds of listeners, but I can't have a "ActionListenerHandler" class in which I implement several actionPerformed methods that can be assigned to different controls?
