• How to get ip address programactically on Debian based system?

  I'm trying to retrieve the ip address of the local machine in my program. The OS running is Ubuntu 8.10. I tried using gethostname() and gethostbyname to do it. All I can get is 127.0.1.1. I learned that it seems to be a Debian thing: This thread explained it. The content of my /etc/hosts file is also: 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.1.1 mymachine In this case, is there any other way to programactically (prefer C or C++) to get the ip address without modifying the system file on the machine? • Netbeans has Realy Bad FTP support , Forces me to download all Files even before I can continue

  Hello Friends , have started using Netbeans recently after using Aptana, phpdesigner and Notepad++ . I love Netbeans for it's speed and it has almost everything I want except for the fact that the FTP support is really Bad. To start working on a FTP server , I have to download all the files to my localhost first which is such a waste of bandwidth & if those files are many ie. 1000+ files then it's really annoying . I have tried mounting remote FTP as local filesystem in Windows and then using Netbeans to access it but that does'nt work out too .. If anybody using netbeans a lot for PHP development can guide me on this , then I would be highly obliged.. this trivial problem is keeping me from using this awesome IDE . Thanks & Regards .

• Observing 'click' event on <a> tag generated by scriptaculous Builder

  I'm using scriptaculous Builder to generate some DOM elements dynamically, and one of them is a link tag. I wasn't sure how to generate this with the click callback inline along with the rest of the Builder code, so I'm generating the link tag ahead of time and then inserting it with the rest of the Builder phase. The problem is that the callback for the link is never actually executed when I click the link, and the URL bar changes to http://localhost/foo/bar/# instead. • Human readable URL causes a problem in Ruby on Rails

  I have a basic CRUD with "Company" model. To make the company name show up, I did def to_param name.parameterize end Then I accessed http://localhost:3000/companies/american-express which runs show action in the companies controller. Obviously this doesn't work because the show method is as following: def show @company = Company.find_by_id(params[:id]) end The params[:id] is american-express. This string is not stored anywhere. Do I need to store the short string (i.e., "american-express") in the database when I save the record? Or is there any way to retrieve the company data without saving the string in the database?

  I have a Backbone collection whose URL depends on the initialize function. When I create an instance of this Backbone collection, I pass in an ID to filter which instances of the model appear.   Hello all, I am moving a web app from gwt 1.5 to gwt 2.0. I am trying to connect to the a database resource I have in my context.xml file.In gwt 1.5 I had set up root.xml in tomcat-conf-gwt-localhost. I have no idea where to set up the resource in GWT 2.0. I tried placing my context.xml file in war-META-INF with no luck. Anyone have an idea where to place the context.xml file to be able to use a jndi database resource in GWT 2.0? Thanks in advanced

• Deployment of SSRS 2012 From SSDT Fails - The specified report server URL could not be found

  I have recently installed SQL Server 2012 Developer on my laptop. I created a simple SSRS report using AdventureWorks201. The report builds fine but will not deploy. I get the error "The specified report server URL http:/localhost/Reports_MSSQLSERVER2012 could not be found" I am able to browse to said URL without issue. I can even upload the report and run it just fine. I am using an administrator account in both cases (on the URL and within SSDT). Is there some reason why SSDT cannot see the URL I am specifying?

  Hello stackoverflow members, How can I use gtkmm with MinGW (g++) without MSYS? Here is the story of my problem: I installed MinGW offline with all required packages (full install). I installed Apache Server and I copied all .tar.gz files and I created a website called sourceforge.org [localhost] and I installed automatically MinGW on Windows XP. After, I set the PATH variables. After, I installed gtkmm for MinGW (g++). I tried to compile a simple window with gtkmm + MinGW, but it does not work. I use this command line: g++ simple.cc -o simple pkg-config gtkmm-2.4 --cflags --libs After, I installed MSYS and I can compile simple.cc with MSYS, using this command line: g++ simple.cc -o simple pkg-config gtkmm-2.4 --cflags --libs My problem: I want to compile simple.cc without MSYS. • Creating TCP network errors for unit testing

  I'd like to create various network errors during testing. I'm using the Berkely sockets API directly in C++ on Linux. I'm running a mock server in another thread from within Boost.Test which listens on localhost. For instance, I'd like to create a timeout during connect. So far I've tried not calling accept in my mock server and setting the backlog to 1, then making multiple connections, but all seem to successfully connect. I would think that if there wasn't room in the backlog queue I would at least get a connection refused error if not a timeout. I'd like to do this all programatically if possible, but I'd consider using something external like IPchains to intentionally drop certain packets to certain ports during testing, but I'd need to automate creating and removing rules so I could do it from within my Boost.Test unit tests. I suppose I could mock the various system calls involved, but I'd rather go through a real TCP stack if possible. Ideas?

• Silverlight app doesn't access web over WCF in IIS

  Hi, My application SilverLight which is hosted in my local host, doesn't access my web app and its database over WCF. I don't know why !!. I've looked over 100 sites and blogs which they have scribed how to configure WCF in IIS, but I can't fix my problem. Note : I debugged it with fiddler in my localhost, everything just worked fine, I saw all my site transaction, except a button which is responsible to access Data over WCF, fiddler didn't log that.   I'm attempting to provide a confirmation link in my user welcome email and I'm getting the following Rails error: Need controller and action! It makes a fuss about this line: <p>Please take a moment to activate your account by going to: <%= link_to confirm_user_url(:id => @user.confirmation_code) %>.</p> In my development.rb environment, I have the following line: config.action_mailer.default_url_options = { :host => "localhost", :port => 3000 } There's no problem with the @user variable. I've tested the email with things like @user.username and @user.confirmation_code. I'm only getting trouble with url_for and named routes like confirm_user_url. When I check my routes with rake routes, confirm_user shows up, so it's not an issue with the named route not existing. I can't seem to figure it out. What gives?
