    Hi, hopefully this is a simple question. I have a simple custom forum on my site written in PHP. For security reasons I don't allow any HTML in the forum posts. I only allow certain BBCode tags. I would however like to allow embedded YouTube videos. So my question is this: What's the best (most secure) way to validate the YouTube embed code? YouTube is currently using iframes to embed videos, but obviously I can't just allow the iframe tag. I also need to ensure the src of the iframe is a YouTube URL, and ensure there's no other malicious bits of code in the iframe code.

    Hello! I have got the following regular expression working just fine in Rad Software Regular Expression designer. param\s+name\s*=\s*"movie"\s+value=\s*"(?<target>.*?)" And now i am wondering, how to get this to work in javascript. It keeps on complaininge about the "target" part.   • Why is my form triggering the wrong controller action?

    This form has multiple submit buttons, when clicked, it calls a simple JavaScript function to change the value of a hidden input (function is called "setHidden". This worked before, after some other not relevant code, it has ceased working. Essentially, the action it is supposed to call is never called, instead it seems to default back to a previous URL.   • asp.net mvc script and style references

    I'm trying to include script and style references that will not break on deployment, however I can not even get the references to work locally. I have tried using Url.Content() and MVCContrib's <%=Html.ScriptInclude("")%>. My scripts are in a Scripts folder on the root of the site; my styles are in the usual Content/css/ folder. The scripts render like this: <script type="text/javascript" src="/Scripts/MicrosoftAjax.debug.js" ></script> This will not work in a view page in the Views folder. What am I doing wrong and what is the best way to handle this? I would have thought Url.Content() would at least work for styles but used in my master page, the link rendered <link href="/Content/css/Site.css rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> This does not work, because the Master Page is in a Shared folder, so what is really the way forward with this?

  • Symfony2 & Twig - theming file upload widget

    I have an Symfony2 edit form for an entity and one of the fields is for the user's profile picture. I'm trying to theme the Twig file upload widget so that the current picture set for the field is displayed above the file input. So far, I have: {% form_theme edit_form _self %} {% block field_widget %} {% set type = type|default('text') %} {% if type == 'file' %} <img src="{{ value }}" /> {% endif %} {{ block('form_widget_simple') }} {% endblock %} All works well except that the value variable is blank (which makes sense I guess). My question is how can I get hold of the path to the file? Is there a way to pick it out of the form values for the field? Could I perhaps pass it through as an option to the field? Srz if this is a dumb question, still pretty new to Symfony and Twig..

  • PHP, manipulating images and thumbnails?

    I am using php and mysql. I allow my registered users to upload photos, the photos are store in filesystem format, then I will keep the original/max size of : width: 1600px and heigh: 1200px. In the user profile page, I would like to display the image, it maybe one of the 5 types of thumnails: 500x500, 300x300, 200x200, 100x100 or 50x50. What is the best way to create the thumbnails, here are my current solutions: I am thinking of create 1 thumbnail, then from that thumbnail, i will resize in [img src="" width="XX"] tag, alternatively, store the different thumbnails size in database, then get and display it Create 5 thumbnails for each photos? (I am afraid this is a bad way) Whats the best practices?

    We are running multiple domains through the same code and we want to save their images in their respective folders. Here's what we are doing. /images/www.domain1.com/logo.jpg /images/www.domain2.com/logo.jpg now, what I want to know is, is this possible in htaccess that we rewrite the urls without user suspecting anything. This is what I want that <img src="/images/logo.jpg" /> should internally become through htaccess RewriteRule ^images/(.*)$ /images/{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [L,R=301] But my question is, The above redirect continually loops Can I achieve the img effect without user or admin suspecting anything?   • html5media & flowplayer wmode issues...

    I'm working on our new homepage and need to implement a solution that will run a video across iphone/ipad and the standard web browsers. I found a pretty decent solution with html5media - http://code.google.com/p/html5media/ but ran across an issue with a jquery dropdown falling behind the the swf object (this only happens on FF & IE - works fine on Safari & Chrome because it's loading mp4 instead of a swf object). I know the issue is the wmode setting but can not for the life of me figure out where to set it in the html5media (http://html5media.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/src/html5media.min.js). I'm hoping someone can help me or possibly give me a better solution of implementing the video.   • HtmlUnit doesn't load externally referenced javascript

    I have run into a problem while trying to test a web application with HtmlUnit. Please bear in mind that I haven't used HtmlUnit very long so I might be missing something trivial. For some reason externally referenced javascripts aren't being loaded. When I print the page as xml all i get is this: <script language="javascript" src="urltofile.js"> </script> As you can see the script tag is empty when it should contain the javascript. What am I missing? I have googled for a solution all morning but haven't found any relevant information. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • how do i use htaccess to make http requests work properly

    I currently have css and javascript file calls (amongst other things) like the following: href="/css/default.css" src="/js/ui_control.js" putting the preceding / in to make the files relative to the root. This works great when my page is in the root of the domain. However, I'm currently in the middle of transferring my site to a new hosting provider and as such have a temporary URL which is: HOST-IP/~username As such, all file calls are trying to be called from HOST-IP/css/default.css etc instead of within the ~username sub-folder. Of course I can wait until the domain name servers propagate but that's beside the point. How would I go about writing a rule in the .htaccess file that would redirect all file calls that start with a /, from going to HOST-IP/FILE-CALL, and instead to go to HOST-IP/~USERNAME/FILE-CALL. ? Any ideas?

  • Floating images with multiple sizes in CSS

    I'm wanting to be able to create a banner of floating images based on what are uploaded via users. The tool needs to have images of 50x50 and 100x100. At the moment, I just want to randomly display the images and tried to apply float:left. However, as you can see below - it leaves gaps. Is there an easy way to do this without programatically positioning the images?   • Image container instead of event object in image load event handler

    I stumbled upon a very strange thing. In FF 3.6 (not tested others yet) I add onload handler to an image like this: imgRef.addEventListener("load", activateLink, false); When load event fires, in activateLink(evt) the evt paramater is not an event, but the "a" tag that contains the image. Why is this? function activateLink(evt) { // evt turns out to be a refference to <a> tag (HTMLAnchorElement) that contains the image. // Actually two of them. Both dynamically added with addElement. } I remembered another fact that may be relevant. I have multiple images with the same src that all have registered this same event handler activateLink. Could this be the problem?

Instead of having WebKit retrieve scripts, CSS files and images via URLs, I want my application to provide them (e.g. retrieved from a database). For example, a "regular" web page may contain this tag: <IMG src="photos/album1/123456.jpg"> Instead of WebKit fetching this image from a server or the file system, I would prefer some kind of callback that allows my application to provide this image. How can I accomplish this?

  • How can I fit an Image into another imageview

    I have an imageview with a default image already set from the xml, and I want to change it's image pragmatically so that the new image will scale to the previous image size, both of the images are rounded. I have tried setting the scaleType attribute to different values before setting the new image but it didn't work.   • To trigger everytime with .click()?

    I tried to have a .click() on a <a> to find out it wont trigger every time I click, what it suppose to do is open a dialog. That is not the only problem I would need to pass a value to my jquery to. I just cant figure this one out. I need it to be a <a> because it's gone be in a dropdown menu.     I am using the following code to check existence of a file before publishing an image in my erb file. <% @imagename = @place.name + ".jpg" %> <% if FileTest.exist?( "/Users/Tim/projects/game/public/" + @imagename ) %> <p><img src= '<%= @imagename %>' width="400" height="300" /> </p> <% end %> And when I publish this to Heroku, it obviously wont work.   • Auto scroll down iframe

    How can I get an iframe such that when it loads up, it loads up with the page inside scrolled down by a fixed amount (say 100px)? I have so far: <iframe src="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7459669.stm" scrolling="no" width=500px height=500px></iframe> but it loads up with the bbc.co.uk page inside at the top left when I actually want it to load up scrolled part way down (that is the page inside the iframe scrolled down, not the page containing the iframe). Anyone know how to do this?

  • FlexBuilder 3 Linked folders not picking up as files.

    I am using Flex Builder 3 to write a flex component. I have created a real folder path \common. Under common I create a Linked Folder to Session. Session points to a shared source folder with a item with a namespace of common\Session\ClassName. When I go to compile the project FlexBuilder warns that it was unable to find the type. if I stop using Linked folders and create a physical \common\Session\ in my project and place SessionInfo.as in the folder then it works. just in case my textual explanation is a bit obscure here is the layout. \src\common\Session\SessionInfo.as namespace of SessionInfo is common.Session. If you need any further info just let me know.

  • How can I increment a Smarty variable?

    I am not usually a Smarty guy, so I'm a bit stuck. I want to echo the index of an array, but I want to increment it each time I echo it. This is what I have... <ul> {foreach from=$gallery key=index item=image} <li> <img src="{$image}" alt="" id="panel-{$index++}" /> </li> {/foreach} </ul> It doesn't work. Is the best way to do this to pre-process the array before handing it to Smarty? Is there a way I can do this using Smarty?

  • Upload/Download files with ASP.Net using Visual Studio Web Server

    I need to upload image files and store them on the webserver, then be able to display them in html. I'm currently using AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory to get a path to read and write files. Firefox won't display the image as I just get an img tag with "src='C:...' Is it possible to read/write files like this with Visual Studio web server? I know it'll be possible with IIS, but I don't want to do that if I don't have to (pretty new to web development) I'm implementing this with ASP.Net MVC 2, but I don't think that is relevant.
