    We need a script, marco or something in excel where we can take list like below interface Vlan100 ip address 192.168.1.3 255.255.255.0 interface Vlan101 ip address 192.168.2.3 255.255.255.128 interface Vlan102 ip address 192.168.2.130 255.255.255.128 interface Vlan103 ip address 192.168.3.3 255.255.255.240 etc... and produce a list like below ospf 1 undo silent-interface Vlan-interface100 undo silent-interface Vlan-interface101 undo silent-interface Vlan-interface102 undo silent-interface Vlan-interface103 area 0.0.0.0 network 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 network 192.168.2.0 0.0.0.127 network 192.168.2.128 0.0.0.127 network 192.168.3.0 0.0.0.15 so it will need to take an ip address/subnet mask and convert them to network number/inverse mask. I believe I can handle the Vlan manipulation with a substitution so no need to spend time on that.

  • Disconnected from WiFi, Windows claims otherwise [closed]

    I'm connected via wifi to my ISP's router/modem. While Windows says that I'm always connected, I keep getting messages from Netgear Genie that I've lost contact to the Internet, and I cannot access webpages until it comes back. There are two other computers in the house, one connected to the router via ethernet, the other via wifi, both seem to have no such problems. I've wondered if Netgear genie itself was the problem, but I am regularly disconnected even if I uninstall it. And I'd rather have it since it accurently tells me if I'm connected or not. Why does windows says I'm online if I can't access any online game, or website ? I've removed the connection, recreated it, I've even copied the settings to a usb key from the computer that has wifi access. Is there a tool that can tell me which program, if any, is disconecting me ?

  • Java - Iterator: "Syntax error, parameterized types are only available if source level is 5.0"

    Hi! I'm purposely targeting Java OS 1.4.2 I'm trying to use an iterator combined with apache's POI to read an excel spreadsheet. The code runs perfectly in java 1.5, but in the 1.4.2 version I get the error listed in the question subject. the code is: Iterator myIter = null; it breaks on that line of code, which is clearly at the beginning of the application. I dont understand what needs to be done to correct this issue. Please let me know if you have any insight!

  • Looking for something like Google's Picasa [closed]

    I almost like Picasa, but there are two issues that irk me and I wondered if anyone knew of an application that does what Picasa does but without the following problems: Network drives. Picasa is hopeless with network drives. Ideally, I'd like photos to be stored remotely and thumbnail databases to be stored locally with a client-server set-up to update client databases. The main aim is to get updates propagated to clients efficently, reduce network bandwidth and have quick browsing on the client. It needs to be snappy when used over a wireless network. This is just a minor point but the folder view looks awful, especially when it uses those tiny thumbnails. (Also, what is it with folders being drawn vertically. Having spent years looking at folders orientated horizontally, turning them on their side looks so wrong.)

  • Tcp Socket Closed

    I always thought that if you didn't implement a heartbeat, there was no way to know if one side of a TCP connection died unexpectedly. If the process was just killed on one side and didn't exit gracefully, there was no way for the socket to send FIN or let the other side know that it was closed. (See some of the comments here for example http://www.perlmonks.org/?node_id=566568 ) But there is a stock order server that I connect to that has a new "cancel all orders on disconnect feature" that cancels live orders if the client dis-connects. It works even when I kill the process on my end, and there is definitely no heartbeat from my app to it. So how is it able to detect when I've killed the process? My app is running on Windows Server 2003 and the order server is on Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10. Does Windows detect that the process associated with the socket is no longer alive and send the FIN?

  • ISPs with good upload speeds? [closed]

    I am a web developer, and I spend most of my time not waiting for downloads but waiting for my latest build of a website to publish to a test site. I use the excellent BeyondCompare to ensure I only upload what I need to upload. But still, if a 2MB C# DLL has changed, so be it. And I must wait. At work we host our own servers and have a dedicated line, so for 8.5 hours of my day I have blistering upload speeds across the web, which is nice. At home however, it's a different story. I am with Virgin Media on their XL internet package (I think). I think that means I get 256Kb upload and 20Mb download. So I have began to wonder - are there any ISPs in the UK with good upload speeds? If you know of any for other countries, do post for other's sake, but please specify which country your post is relevant to.

Much of the information I read arbitrarily differentiates between high-traffic vs the unstated non-high-traffic websites. This troubles me because I don't have a good grasp of how much traffic is high-traffic. Can anyone help me with this, is there a good rule of thumb? Please don't tell me it depends ;)

    I have just subscribed to a new dedicated server and am getting worst than expected PHP execution performance. Execution times are twice as high as on my old mutualized server! I'm definitely not an expert at server management, so I'm wondering what I missed.     Hi all, I really hope some of you can give me some direction. I have setup a linux server at home and through samba I can access files from different computers in my home. I would like to use this server as a file-server for my family (brothers, sisters and parents who all live in their own homes). I really like the way it is set up right now with user and permission controls, but I've read that it is bad idea to open up the samba port to the world. The requirements are simple: 1) it should be easy to access, by using standard web browsers or mounting the drive (shouldn't have to use any VPN setup or use putty etc) 2) should be somewhat secure. We just want to share family pictures instead of putting them on facebook or picasa or other web server, nothing top secret. Here is what I've looked into: 1)Webdav. It seems decent but seems like it windows7 doesn't like it very much, even with digest mode authentication. User controls and permissions are not as flexible as samba (or at least to my knowledge). I really like the user and group permissions in samba, but if I could live with webdav if it worked seamlessly with windows, it should just work shouldn't it? 2) I read somewhere to stay away from ftp as it is outdated and that there are newer and better internet file-server setups? Was that a reference to webdav? I am so confused, please help... Manny

    Possible Duplicate: Change left side link of the Save As Dialog for a DropBox one? Almost every time I use the standard Windows (XP) File Open/Save Dialog I get frustrated in how long it takes me to navigate to where I want to go. :-( (I won't even get into the MS Office dialog that makes things even worse) This is the dialog I'm referring to (with some notes) Notes: Wouldn't a Drive list be handy in here? C:\, D:\, E:\, etc. What about a breadcrumb URI? (the magenta list of links) Why isn't Program Files one of the icons on the left? (green) I'm always going in there for something Why can't I type "../../../" to navigate up multiple directories in the File name box? (blue) There has got to be some utilities out there that can "hijack" or "overwrite" this core windows dialog to provide a much better set of options. I'm looking for any/all solutions to help fix this dialog.

  • Cat5 wiring in my home [closed]

    I have problem with cat5 cabling First I ran a length of cable 30 metres to my bedroom 1 and and connected both ends to a wall sockets internally using my punch down tool, both ends look fine. I also ran a cable from bedroom 1 to bedroom 2 so my son can use same internet connection , i then parallel connected my cables in bedroom 1 against using punch down tool using same colours all the way through. I ran a Ethernet cable from modem to first wall socket close to it then at bedroom end used another Ethernet cable to connect pc, it wouldn't connect to pc so I disconnected bedroom 2 cable from bedroom 1 socket. I connected bedroom 1 to pc and it worked, but how do I connect bedroom 2 (obviously cat 5 cable bedroom 1 to 2 is in place) As soon as I connect one wire from bedroom2 I loose Internet connection!

  • Building vs buying a server for an academic lab [closed]

    I'm looking for advice on the classic build vs buy question. We need a new linux server to run Matlab computation on in our lab (academic). Matlab parallel computing toolbox licence allows up to 12 local workers so we are aiming at a 12 core server with 4GB memory per core (total of 48gb). The system will have an SSD for the OS and a raid-5 (4x2tb) for data. I looked around and found a (relatively) cheap vendor, Silicon Mechanics, that offers a system to our liking (specs below) for $6732. However, buying the components from newegg cost only $4464! The difference is $2268 which is 50% of the base cost. If buying from a company can be thought of as a sort of insurance, basically my premiums are of 50% of the base cost which to me sounds like a lot. Of course any downtime is bad, but the work is not "mission critical", i.e. if it takes a few days to fix it when it breaks its no the end of the world. If it takes weeks to months then its a problem. If it breaks 2-3 times in 3 years, not too bad. If it breaks every month not good. In term of build experience, I set up a linux cluster in grad school (from existing computers) and I build my home pcs but I never built a server before.     We have two sites that each have an internet connection and have a dedicated dark fibre between them. Each site has it's own IP space and we have an AS number. We're looking to be resilient to failure of the internet connection to either site and so need to buy a pair of approriate routers. Requirements are: Able to run 2 bgp sessions (one with the ISP, one with the other site router) Option to take a full table from the upstream ISPs would be nice. Able to provide HA gateways on the LAN side (e.g. 192.168.0.254 will automatically migrate if it's host router lost power) A dedicated device rather than a server running Linux / BSD Not crazy expensive. Any help / advice much appreciated.

    Instead of populating the BitmapData class from an IMAGE. I would like to (within Actionscript) GENERATE some new BitmapData by capturing the Bitmap representing say, a TextArea component on the stage. In other words, sort of take a "screen capture" or "screenshot" of one of the components, and convert that into an image. Am I silly to even wonder if such a thing is feasible? Can an Air/Flex app "look at itself" in this way? Can it turn a datagrid or a canvas or a textinput into the corresponding image AS IF via screen capture? Even a hint in the right direction would be appreciated, Thanks In Advance.

    Possible Duplicate: How do I tell Thunderbird never to send (or even try to send) html emails? In the account settings of Thunderbird (version 11.0.1) I have disabled HTML and set it to compose messages as plain text. That works for new messages. However, when I get an HTML email and reply to that mail, Thunderbird uses HTML. I went to the setting in: Tools ? Options ? Composition ? Send Options ? Plain Text Domains And have tried *.* as the domain name. I also changed the default text format in Settings - Compose - Send options. Neither of them works, the reply is still using HTML (for my own text). How can I really reply in plain text only, regardless of incoming?

    I ran into some problems with my ATI Radeon x1200. I want it to support vertex shader 3.0, but it only does 2.0. This is because Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 only works with 3.0. So, I want a new video card. Can someone help me, with a more clean look to it? I bet if I would stick to some seller, I would end up with a video card that does not support what I want, or is too expansive. I really do not want it to be above $75, if possible.
