  In its description of valid tcpdump expressions, the pcap-filter man pages state: The filter expression consists of one or more primitives. Primitives usually consist of an id (name or number) preceded by one or more qualifiers. In turn, these qualifiers are type, dir and proto. So far so good, but further down we find this: ip host host which is equivalent to: ether proto \ip and host host In the first case, ip and host are, respectively, proto and type. What pattern does ether proto \ip follow? Isn't that, as a whole, a proto qualifier? If so, why isn't (a properly escaped) 'ether proto \ip host host' legal (no and)?

Name: logger_test_trigger Expression: {Zabbix server:log[/tmp/scribetest/test3/test3_current,error,,100].str(error)}=1 Severity: disaster The above settings works fine for the first time but next time the trigger shows ZBX_NOTSUPPORTED and after that item also shows "not supported" message. • Name typing in the "TO" line for last name recognition

  I have outlook 2010 on a Windows 7 laptop. When I go to send an email at the "TO" line and I start typing the name, if I start to enter the last name it will not recognize anyone in my contacts and will not auto-populate a list of all the names that fit the description of what I have typed so far. But if I start typing the first name first it will start this auto-choice feature based on what I have typed so far. The company I work for has 20k + employees and If I want to email someone like "Michael Hutch " if I type "Michael" it still gives me like 800 names to chose from. My old laptop that had 2003 Outlook on it, had this functionality. Is there a way to enable this in Outlook 2010?

• Should I split my website into different servers

  I have a website where a user uploads photos, the photos gets resized and thumbnailed, and stored on the server. At the same time, there are some INSERTS into a MySQL table regarding the photo uploaded (like description, user id etc). The site currently runs off a managed VPS, and I love the support it provides. However it is expensive to store the many small photos and the resizing and thumbnailing processes do cause spikes on the app performance. (Amazon S3 is pretty expensive, especially considering the costs for uploading many small files) Question: Will it be a good idea to move the image processing operations and image storage to another server which is an unmanaged dedicated server with a much lower cost/gb and keep the current VPS for its 24/7 support and hosting the webapp? Or should I move the entire site to the dedicated server? • Systemd can't start script?

  I have a BASH-script I want to run on start up. My system is running systemd so I created a .service file with whith what I think is the neccessary information: [Unit] Description=My Script After=network.target [Service] ExecStart=/home/myscript.sh [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target I used systemctl enable to 'register' it an rebooted. On boot I was told my script would be executed, but I could neither see any of the messages ECHO should display on screen nor did it write something to a file, according to what I had written in the script. Additionally, It does not start the application it's supposed to start. Systemctl status tells me that the script has run and exited successfully. Still, the script has no effect. If I run the script from a shell it works perfectly fine. Do any of you know what could be my problem?

  I am trying to allow an account to update very specific attributes on all User objects. I am setting this security on the "User" object. When I add the account on the security tab, go to advanced, edit the accounts permissions, and start going through the list of attributes I am only able to find a few, like First Name, but most of the attributes I want to let them write to are missing. How can I grant the account write access to these attributes?   I'm getting this error with IIS 6.0 (i assume), and PHP 5.2.3, and FastCGI FastCGI Error The FastCGI Handler was unable to process the request. Error Details: Error Number: 5 (0x80070005). Internet Information Services (IIS) Any ideas, nothing revealings in logs (other than 500 errors), this is pretty much all of I have to work with. The script has read and execute privileged for the internet guest account; and, I've added read/execute privileges to the whole D:\PHP.   Description of project- I have a test tool to which DUT connects. The test tool has an access point in it and once DUT get connected to it via mac address we check RSSI and some other features of WiFi of DUT. Now I am wondering is there is any way I can measure throughput of Device under test via mac address of DUT from server side. Test-tool has LINUX fedora 11 in it and major coding is done in c/C++ and json command. Previously, I have tried to install ftp server on test-tool and DUT can connect to it and we can measure the throughput or data transfer rate, but this is not feasible solution as it requires lot of intervention from DUT. What I am interested in is 1) To run some script on server side /test tool and it gives me throughput of bandwidth of connected device may be via mac address of DUT OR 2) Server script transfer some files/packets to DUT and we can measure the throughput. Coding is not a major challenge at this stage , I just need some tool which requires minimum intervention from DUT.

  We use a Barracuda Spam Filter at work, and we also provide a mass emailing program to some of clients that send out newsletters. Lately one of them's been composing his latest company newsletter and has been trying to send preview messages to himself, but they've actually been quarantined by Barracuda as potential spam, even though they aren't. I can see the breakdown of the spam scoring headers in Barracuda, but I'm not sure what certain rules mean. • How do I establish the network sharing to my WinXP server network drive from my Mac notebook?

  I have been able to connect to my WinXP server's shared drives by using Finder's Command-K to browse the network. Unfortunately, when the server gets rebooted, the connection drops and sometimes I cannot get reconnected. I have specified different protocols (afp / cifs / smb) and different login names (connect as...) with limited success. Once I find the right combination, I am good for a few weeks. Once, it seems as though I had to unshared and shared the drive to get it to work. Unfortunately, it is very frustrating, so I try multiple things at one time, so when I finally get to the success point -- I honestly don't know what worked. I followed Mac help, surfed for instructions, issues, etc., but nothing appears to be consistent. I would love for this thread to be the ultimate answer for all time! Can anyone help me? If my description or question need more detail, please ask away!

  Exchange 2010 sp2 Outlook 2007/2010 Server 2008 I have managed to set up several room mailboxes in exchange, people are able to book the rooms and they get a response from the exchange server. this is brilliant. however users are unable to view the calendar of the room mailbox to see what times are available, in a ideal world I would like users to only see if the room is free or not. • Strange noise from my laptop when it is closed

  I am fan of powerfull PCs with huge wide screen monitors but I have bought an laptop as gift to my parents. This is the description: "second-handed" lenovo (and there is a sign "ThinkPad" Intel Core Duo CPU T6570 2.10 GHz 64 bits Windows 7 Ultimate and the issue is that when the laptop is turn on and then closed, after a interval of time (I am not sure how much exactly but I believe it is several hours) a strange noise come from the laptop. The noise is something like a "start-up" noise of old computers. I first thought this is some hardware issue but everything seems to work fine. Has anyone an idea what can cause this type of noise or a what can I do in order to track the problem down? I am not sure if this is a important thing, but the laptop is always connected to the power. Note: I have just noticed that the sound is generated again when the laptop is closed and then opened.   In virtually every FreeBSD network tuning document I can find: # /boot/loader.conf net.inet.tcp.tcbhashsize=4096 This is usually paired with some unhelpful statement like "TCP control-block hash table tuning" or "Set this to a reasonable value." man 4 tcp isn't much help either: tcbhashsize Size of the TCP control-block hash table (read-only). This may be tuned using the kernel option TCBHASHSIZE or by setting net.inet.tcp.tcbhashsize in the loader(8). The only document I can find that touches on this mysterious thing is the Protocol Control Block Lookup subsection beneath Transport Layer in Optimizing the FreeBSD IP and TCP Stack, but its description is more about potential bottlenecks in using it. It seems tied to matching new TCP segments to their listening sockets, but I'm not sure how. What exactly is the TCP Control Block used for? Why would you want to set its hash size to 4096 or any other particular number?

• Trick to enabling FTP upload from an app in Windows 8?

  I have an older Win32 app that uses FTP to upload some data to a server from time to time. This app works great in Windows XP and has been working fine in Windows 7 and Vista. For some reason, when running under Windows 8 it has trouble uploading its data. It appears to connect and upload the data OK but it has times out when disconnecting. The data does not appear on the server. I have limited visibility into the app while it's running so sorry for the vague nature of the description. My question is: Is there some security setting in Windows 8 that would keep this app from using FTP? When I check the settings it looks to me like I have it set up to prompt me about any permissions problems it might have, and I'm not seeing any prompts. I've tried running this app in XP/SP3 compatibility mode with no luck. At this point I'm just looking for some clues as to where to look.

• starting Tomcat from Eclipse

  I've just got eclipse for jee installed, and also downloaded apache 6.0.29 and added it in eclipse preferences. I followed up this tutorial, and all i got when i run it is 404 page with "The requested resource (/WebService/) is not available." description. I can't even access root folder of tomcat at localhost:8080. However, if i start tomcat through concole command, it's working fine and home page and examples are accessible. I'm a complete noob at tomcat and eclipse(been working with netbeans before), so i've got no idea what's wrong.

  I get daily critical errors from Kaspersky involving Explorer.exe... The file in question is almost always in the Recycle Bin, or something on the desktop. • Can I write an Excel macro to find product info based on a SKU?

  My coworker wants to create an invoice template in Excel 2007. In column 1, he wants to be able to put in a SKU like '000293954'[1], and when he hits tab, have the other columns fill in a matching description and price. There would be a bunch of different SKUs and information. Has anybody done this type of thing with a macro before? Any advice? (I have programming experience with Javascript, PHP, and Ruby, but have never written a macro.) [1] The input wouldn't be typed - he'd use a wedge barcode scanner that inputs just like it was typed. Not that it matters for this question.

• Cisco ASA - Unable to create "range" type of network object on 8.2

  I'm wanting to block a range of ip addresses on my Cisco ASA 5520 (8.2) using ASDM 6.4. In the help files/cisco documentation, it says, just create a network object with a "range" type, and use that in a blocking access rule... When I'm accessing the ASA (8.2) with ASDM 6.4, I go to configfirewallobjectnetwork objects & groups, then click "add" to add the IP range as a "network object", I get the following 4 fields to fill out: Name: IP address: Netmask: Description: That's all... In the context-sensitive help files, it says that there should be a Type drop-down to select, with "range" being one of the options, but there is no "Type" drop-down list... If I try to create a "network object group" instead of just "network object", then I get a "Type" drop down list, but it only contains two options: network & host (No "Range" option here either) Can someone help me figure out how to block a range of IP's, using the current 8.2 version on the ASA?
