More than 2gb of Music without paid plan possible?

Hi there, I do not have a paid plan for UbuntuOne and do not intend of buying one, but I do like to buy music from the UbuntuOne Music Store. Is it possible to buy music, once I bought more than 2gb or would I have to move the music out of the UbuntuOne share? In this case, I would suggest to put the music in the official ubuntuone-folder instead of a hidden one. Non-technical users will not understand, why their shared music files are not in this folder, but others are popping up there (e.g. in the webinterface). Best Regards, Lars

eCryptfs : How to keep the home mounted without being over ssh?

I have a daemon program who need to read in a file who is saved somewhere in my home folder. But every time I close my ssh connection, this daemon can't read the file because it appear that eCryptfs unmount the home. Maybe there is an option to force eCryptfs to not only mount with an ssh connection ? I didn't found it. Thanks. PS : I know this thread, Why is ecryptfs only mounting private home directory over ssh?, but this is not the proper/good way to deal with the request.

Class architecture, no friends allowed

The question of why there are no friends in C# has been extensively discussed. I have the following design problems. I have a class that has only one public function AddOrder(Order ord). Clients are allowed to call only this function. All other logic must be hidden. Order class is listening to market events and must call other other function of TradingSystem ExecuteOrder, so I have to make it public as well. How to redirect a international domain to a subfolder on the English site without hurting Google rankings?

I have two sites: www.example.de www.main.com www.main.com is English version of www.example.de which is in German. I want to keep only www.main.com. For the English version I will keep www.main.com, but for German I want to move it to www.main.com/de. I am wondering what would be best solution for old www.example.de: Redirect everything from www.example.de to www.main.com/de using 301 redirect? Redirect everything from www.example.de towww.main.com/de/page-url-of-old-size.html? So each link actually get own address. Is that necessary or will Google realize where the page belongs on new site even if I redirect everything to home page? Any other solution, maybe just set in Google webmaster tools the new domain or anything like that?

I want to tackle some basic 3-D collision detection and was wondering how engines handle this and give you a pretty interface and make it so easy ... I want to do it all myself, however. 2-D collision detection is extremely simple and can be done multiple ways that even beginner programmers could think up: 1.When the pixels touch; 2.when a rectangle range is exceeded; 3.when a pixel object is detected near another one in a pixel-based rendering engine. But 3-D is different with one dimension, but complex in many more so ... what are the general, basic understanding/examples on how 3-D collision detection can be implemented? Think two shaded, OpenGL cubes that are moved next to each other with a simple OpenGL rendering context and keyboard events.

I know there are two ways. 1. sort them and compare the array index by index 2. use two for loops and compare the outer index with the inner index. I have two array lists. that I want to swap each frame. My question is, does the variable 'temp' need to be a member variable to avoid triggering GC, assuming this method is called on dozens of objects each frame? I'm not creating a new object, just a new reference to an object. public void LateUpdate(){ ArrayList<int> temp = previousFrameCollisions; previousFrameCollisions = currentFrameCollisions; currentFrameCollisions = temp; currentFrameCollisions.clear(); } I've been told there's no reason to make a primitive into a member variable just to avoid GC, so my best guess is that this also applies to object references.

Customer escalated to a claim without sending the item back? [closed]

She claims that she has sent the item back but for over 1 month I haven't received it. I don't know where I can find the tracking number so I don't know if she really sent it or not. Now she has escalated the dispute to claim and PayPal is asking me for information. The reason is "Not as described". So how do I respond to this? I mean, in the dispute, we agreed that I'll issue a full refund as soon as I receive the package she return to us but we never received this package that she claimed to have sent back. Now she's escalating this to a claim and PayPal is asking me for documents. How can I provide any documents that would prove she hasn't sent the package? Thanks!

Is there a way to forward emails associated with a domain without a mail server?

A client owns example1.com but wants to also purchase example2.com and have it point to their original site at example1.com. No problem there. But they also want any emails going to example2.com to be forwarded to their counter parts at example1.com Eg: if someone emails [email protected] it will be forwarded to [email protected] They only way I can think of doing this at the moment is to set up host for example2.com and then set up mail forwarders in cpanel. But this seems a bit excessive and costly. Does anyone know another, cheaper way of doing this?

How do I assign a rotating category to database entries in the order the records come in?

I have a table which gets entries from a website, and as those entries go into the database, they need to be assigned the next category on a list of categories that may be changed at any time. Because of this reason I can't do something simple like for mapping the first category of 5 to IDs 1, 6, 11, 16. I've considered reading in the list of currently possibly categories, and checking the value of the last one inserted, and then giving the new record the next category, but I imagine if two requests come in at the same moment, I could potentially assign them both the same category rather then in sequence. So, my current round of thinking is the following: lock the tables ( categories and records ) insert the newest row into records get the newest row's ID select the row previous to the insertl ( by using order by auto_inc_name desc 0, 1 ) take the previous row's category, and grab the next one from the cat list update the new inserted row unlock the table I'm not 100% sure this will work right, and there's possibly a much easier way to do it, so I'm asking: A. Will this work as I described in the original problem? B. Do you have a better/easier way to do this? Thanks ~

Finding which tiles are intersected by a line, without looping through all of them or skipping any

I've been staring at this problem for a few days now. I rigged up this graphic to help me visualise the issue: http://i.stack.imgur.com/HxyP9.png (from the graph, we know that the line intersects [1, 1], [1, 2], [2, 2], [2, 3], ending in [3,3]) I want to step along the line to each grid space and check to see if the material of the grid space is solid. I feel like I already know the math involved, but I haven't been able to string it together yet. I'm using this to test line of sight and eliminate nodes after a path is found via my pathfinding algorithms - my agents cant see through a solid block, therefore they cant move through one, therefore the node is not eliminated from the path because it is required to navigate a corner. So, I need an algorithm that will step along the line to each grid space that it intersects. Any ideas? I've taken a look at a lot of common algorithms, like Bresenham's, and one that steps at predefined intervals along the line (unfortunately, this method skips tiles if they're intersecting with a smaller wedge than the step size). I'm populating my whiteboard now with a mass of floor() and ceil() functions - but its getting overly complicated and I'm afraid it might cause a slowdown.

How do I server multiple domains from the same directory and codebase without my configuraton breaking when apache.conf is overwritten?

I have 20 domains on a VPS running cPanel. One public_html is filled with code, the remaining 19 are symbolic links to that one. (For example, assets is a directory within public_html ... for the 19 others, there's a symbolic link to that directory in each each accounts public_html dir.) It's all PHP / MySQL database driven, with content changing depending on the domain. It works like a charm, assuming cPanel has suExec enabled correctly, and assuming apache.conf does NOT have SymLinksIfOwnerMatch enabled. However, every few weeks, my apache.conf is mysteriously overwritten, re-enabling SymLinksIfOwnerMatch, and disabling all 19 linked sites for as long as it takes for me to notice. Here's the offending line in apache.conf: <Directory "/"> AllowOverride All Options ExecCGI FollowSymLinks IncludesNOEXEC Indexes SymLinksIfOwnerMatch </Directory> The addition of SymLinksIfOwnerMatch disables the sites in a strange way ... the html is generated correctly, but all css/js/image in the html fails to load. I've created a 'www' group, added all accounts to the group, and chmod -R'd the code source to use that group. Everything is 644 or 755. But doesn't seem to be enough. My unix isn't that strong. Do you need to restart something for group changes to take effect? Probably not. Anyways, I'm entering unknown territory. Can anyone recommend the right way to configure a website for multiple sites using one codebase that doesn't rely on apache.conf?

Why am I needing to click twice on a WPF listbox item in order to fire a command?

Hi, I'm trying to make a standard WPF listbox be dynamically filled, and for each item in the list box to launch a command when clicked. Currently I have a working listbox, which can be filled and each item will fire the correct command, but in order to fire the command I have to click the list item twice. i.e, Click once to select the item, then click on the actual text to fire the command. As the list is dynamically created, I had to create a data template for the list items: <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Margin="4,2,4,2"> <Hyperlink TextDecorations="None" Command="MyCommands:CommandsRegistry.OpenPanel"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding}" Margin="4,2,4,2"/> </Hyperlink> </TextBlock> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> Basically, how do I remove the need to click twice? I have tried to use event triggers to fire the click event on the hyperlink element when the list box item is selected, but I can't get it to work. Or, is there a better approach to dynamically fill a listbox and attach commands to each list item? Thanks

Proper use of use of "cor" function in R

I am interested to know what a proper x (vector matrix or data frame) input looks like. I am currently using the function in two different sorts of matrices. However, I am not sure how R would interpret my data the way I intend. I will explain the types of matrix by example. Type 1 Gene1 Gene2 Gene3 sample1 sample2 Type 2 Sample1 Sample2 Sample3 gene 1 gene 2 gene 3 Are either of these formats valid x parameters? I input both of types of matrices and get some results, but without knowing whether or not this a proper use the function, these are just random numbers. Thank you for your time. What is juju doing when my deployment is "pending"? It seems to take awhile without much happening

After deploying a charm, either locally or not, juju status lists "Pending". It seems to sit in this state for awhile, longer in my experience in the cloud, a bit shorter locally. What is juju doing during this time? For local instances it's a couple minutes or less, longer with cloud instances, up to 10 minutes in some cases. I am just curious if deploy's stay pending when the VM is being setup or is something else going on?

However, I've noticed that a lot of games that you install on a computer don't have a frame. When you play them on Windows, the game covers the entire screen (the start bar disappears and you can't access any other application on your computer). I'd like to do that for my game. Is it possible to do so with Java? If so, how would I do this?

Is it possible to force a tab/window to take focus without an alert()? [migrated]

I've been working to solve some form / session timeout issues on our site. I'd like to get the users attention BEFORE this happens so that they don't lose data that they've entered into long forms. I'm using jquery's .get to confirm with my server when the users session is set to timeout, and warn them 5 minutes before then. I've found that if I pop an alert(), it will bring the focus back to that tab / page -- but this seems 'heavy handed'. Is there a better way to do this?

XNA + Windows Forms: How make them work together without making the trick of the custom GraphicsDeviceControl?

What I've found is a solution where you have to code a custom GraphicsDeviceControl to put inside the form (the well known tutorial from the APPHub), but that's not what I'm searching for. I would like to say that before start to right my question here, I "googled" a lot and I saw some questions here, but I couldn't find what I'm looking for. I would like to have the Draw/Update loops completly managed by XNAFrameWork (with XNA project and so), and not by a custom component. I hope you understand what I asked. Thanks in advance. How do i reinstall windows back on to linux without flashdrive or cd?

I know this is for ubuntu. but elementary os and ubuntu are really similar, so any answers or instructions will work on this os. plus the people here at ubuntu are alot better with these kind of problems. I've installed elementary os, and i am somewhat satisfied. However, many of the addons and applications i used to use are incompatible with linux and wine doesnt work with these apps that work with drivers and plugins. My recovery hp partition was replaced by the grub partition somehow. i dont' have a cd or a working flashdrive. i have found many links, but i dont understand the instructions to a full level. ive heard that you can create a partition, extract your windows iso there, and then boot from it. i have done the first 2 steps, but i dont know how to boot from a certain partition. i know how to with command prompt, but not with terminal and/or grub. Please help? im a noob in linux, ive only installed it for a month

How to obtain a camera stream from Unity without rendering it to the player's screen?

I'd like to stream the output of two cameras to a separate process. Right now, it looks like the best way to do that is to grab the rendered camera views from the screen via platform specific screen capture hooks then compress them real time with h.264. Is there a way to grab the input of the cameras within unity and avoid rendering them to the screen? One solution I'm considering involves using Unity's multiplayer capability to run the game on a separate machine and grab it from that screen buffer, unbeknownst to the player.
