  • Change the color of a SolidcolorBrush resource with a trigger?

    I have a user control that uses a brush resource like the following to provide the color for several elements in the control: <UserControl.Resources> <SolidColorBrush x:Key="BlackBrush" Color="Black"/> </UserControl.Resources> Now, I'd like to change the color of this resource with a trigger to provide a highlight when a certain condition occurs. Is this possible? If so, how? Thanks!

  • How can I bind dynamic data to DataGridTemplateColumn in code?

    I'm using DataGrid from CodePlex. I have objects (ICustomTypeDescriptor) that have properties 'name' 'description' 'c' 'd' and so on (the names are dynamic, and so is the value) and they have information behind them. I have templates for different types. And if I have to list the properties of a single element I can just bind to the values in xaml and use datatemplateselector (in datagridtemplatecolumn) which will pick the correct template. However, when I'm listing several of the elements, how can I use the selectors and the templates? How do I get the correct property bound to the template (two-way)? When ignoring the need for different templates, using DataGridTextColumn with bindings is very simple (and works, see example below), is there any way to use similar approach with the DataGridTemplateColumn? foreach (String propertyName in listOfPropertyNames) { DataGridTextColumn textColumn = new DataGridTextColumn() { Header = propertyName, Binding = new Binding() { Path = new PropertyPath(propertyName) } }; DataGrid.Columns.Add(textColumn); }

  • Same html file for different topics on Help Files

    I have a problem with the help files. For example i have this html file named search.html and there are 2 topics on my table of contents namely Name Search and Account Search. The same search.html will be used for the 2 topics. Now, i want to open the help file and point it to Name Search but instead, the treeview item that is opened on the table of contents is for the Account Search. How can i set it so that the the Name Search will be the one selected on the table of contents?

    i'm having issues setting the Image from a dependency property. It seems like the trigger doesnt fire.   • Closing a window when it's "no longer needed".

    This is kind of a hard question to describe, and I've searched for about an hour now to no avail. Essentially, picture a small 'flyout' window like the Windows 7 Wireless Control or the Volume Slider from the system tray(notification area). When you click on the icon, the application pops up with focus, and if you click off of it, the window destroys itself. I thought it woudl be easily solved by simply having my window destroy it self when it loses focus (I've been listening for WM_KILLFOCUS), but the problem is, if the icon is clicked, my window does not always get focus. Since this isn't the case, if the user clicks my icon, and then clicks away because it was a mistake (on the desktop say), then how can I set my app to close? I've tried messing with SPY++ but checking the volume control / wireless control apps are proving difficult as they disappear when I try to get their window/process handles. Thanks!

    I've created a custom control that subclasses TreeView. Right now it's completely empty, doesn't override anything. However when I place an instance in the designer the 'Auto' value for the Width and Height fields is no longer available as it is with the default TreeView. What am I missing?

  • Best method for Binding ComboBox

    I am going to be developing a large project which will include a large number of ComboBoxes. Most of these combo boxes will be bound to a database field which is a related to another daataset/table. For instance. I have the following 2 tables: Company {CompanyID, CompanyName, MainContact} Contacts {ContactID, ContactName} And when the user clicks to edit a company, A TextBox will be there to edit a company name, but also a ComboBox will be there. The way I am currently doing it is binding the ComboBox to the Contacts dataset, and manually updating the Company MainContact field in code behind. Is there anyway for me to bind the selected item to the Company MainContact field in XAML and the items to the ContactName and eliminate the code behind? Reason for this is when you start making 100's combo boxes all over the application it gets long winded each time creating code behind to do the update.

  • DataTriggered animation is triggered only in the first time

    I just wanted to create very simple example of DataTriggers and animation. Two checkboxes and Rectangle. Checking the first cb makes the rectangle fade away. (CodeBehind var is true) Checking the second cb makes the rectangle come back. (var is false) App is loading - the rectangle is showing (true) Firs cb is checked by default. I'm checking second cb - rect is dissapearing. It's OK. But when I then check the first cb rect isn't showing up.   • How do I determine inactivity in a MVVM application?

    I have an MVVM kiosk application that I need to restart when it has been inactive for a set amount of time. I'm using Prism and Unity to facilitate the MVVM pattern. I've got the restarting down and I even know how to handle the timer. What I want to know is how to know when activity, that is any mouse event, has taken occurred. The only way I know how to do that is by subscribing to the preview mouse events of the main window. That breaks MVVM thought, doesn't it? I've thought about exposing my window as an interface that exposes those events to my application, but that would require that the window implement that interface which also seems to break MVVM.

    After adding "RelayCommand" class (that uses CommandManager class) into my Silverlight App I've got an error: The name 'CommandManager' does not exist in the current context This class is a member of System.Windows.Input namespace that is in PresentationCore.dll assembly. The problem is that I can't add this dll into my app... I am having a strange assumption: this class (CommmandManager) can't be used in the Silverlight. Am I right? How can I implement MVVM-pattern (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd419663.aspx)? Thanks.

    I have a DataTemplate that contains an Expander with a border in the header. I want the header border to have round corners when collapsed and straight bottom corners when expanded.     I'm styling a listBox. i'm trying to clear the margins, so I realized which it, I set the padding of the style to 0 (left padding). But I can still seeing some margin in it, and I need to have no margin in it?     Hello My scenarion is this 1- i have a Form which is dynamically generated with some XML configuration information. 2- i am attaching Data Binding for a textbox in Text_Loaded event a well as Validation Rules and i am attaching Validation.AddErrorHandler for showing message boxs 3- Data Source for the binding is a DataTable. 4- I am having record navigation buttons on the form generated in step 1 (Next,Last,First,Previous) 5- If user edits data with invalid values in record no 1 validation fires and it creats a red border 6-user press Next button to navigate to record no 2 but does not update error field in record no 1 i.e. she leaves record no 1 with some error not in my data source but on the form. 7- She came back to record no 1 , here my problem begins , Record no 1 is updated with old values and does not show error which she made. i know that ValidationRules will not allow wrong input to update my data source which is fine but i need to handle point no 7 , there is no direct way to handle this situation , any help is much appriciated

    I am attempting to use a Canvas to create a simple Cad application. I have been able to get lines to draw as I want. For now the only other thing I need is text. The user should be able to edit the text in place. ?Is one of these better to use for this over the others? Rich Text TextBlock TextBox Label A more important question, though, is once I have chosen which class to use for implementation, how do I set and get the text value in code? Since the app is in essence a cad application, text will be added, deleted, and altered often, so I am not attempting to put these in XAML, but code-behind. That is why I am asking about how to do this in code. If the answer is "use X.SetValue()" (or that family of methods), then please tell me what I am supposed to do with the required DependencyProperty reference? TIA. Paul

I Have a datacontext that has a "getuserbyguid" method, i want to pass in the current logged in user.userid as a parameter, but I don't know how to bind to the current logged in user through xaml. I've tried {Binding Path=User.UserId} but without any luck. I'm using the built in riaservices authentication methods, so the userinfo should be exposed in the riacontext, or am I wrong about this?     I used Mike Swanson's illustrator to xaml converter to convert some of my images to xaml. The convert creates a viewbox that contains the image. These viewboxes I made resource files in my program. The code below shows what I'm trying to do: I have a viewmodel that has an enum variable called PrimaryWinding of type Windings.     Hi, I have a Panel which I want to extend and override MeassureOverride and Arrange to have my custom layout. Basically, the panel will contain some labels. As the label has some text content, it should have a specific size. However when I use label.ActualHeight or actualwidth, desiredSize ... in the MeassureOverride or ArrangeOverride, all result to NaN. Is there any way I can get the desired Size of the label so that the text content is fit?
