    Hello guys, As a .net developer main c#, I want to know what would be the best approach for me to develop Phone application that runs on major phones. Just to let you know Iphone is out of the question because of the costs that are involved, not ready to buy Mac book.     Hello, I have been looking for an alternative to Hibernate for various reasons. I came across Liquibase and i like the idea so i am willing to try it. Liquibase will cater for database creation/modification in a SQL independent fashion. My main question is how does my code in my application execute SQL statements without being database dependent? Is there some other project that acts like Hibernates Dialect classes? Thanks, Paul

For example, in Linux, strip-down to a bare minimum all unecessary binaries, daemons, utilities, tune kernel parameters, optimize raw and cooked devices (hdparm). Someday, maybe, informix can create its own proprietary PICK-like O/S. The general idea is for the OS where ifx sits on have the smallest footprint, lowest overhead impact on ifx and provide optimized ifx performance.

    Right now, I'm programming the networking for my online game, and I'm not really sure what to do about receiving data. The problem is that I can't really guess the packet's size, so I thought of reading just 4 bytes from the packet and converting them to an int to know what's the packet's size. Then I'll just create a buffer in that size and receive the rest of the packet, is that a good idea? For your information, I'm using non-blocking i/o.

    You know in MS Word, you can write text and draw&put shapes anywhere you want.. in the text when you hit enter and get to a new line, the shapes below your cursor also moves down one line? I want to implement that property in Java on a pane, using components as the shapes and text. How can I provide absolute positioning for shapes but at the same time preserve the space between them? I'll appreciate any idea, cause I'm almost out of ideas.

    Ok, I have a flowchart definition (basically, array of nodes and edges for each node). Now I want to calculate coordinates for every task in the flow, preferably hierarchycal style. I need something like Graph::Easy::Layout but I have no idea how to get nodes coordinates: I render nodes myself and I only want to retrieve box coordinates/size. Any suggestions? What I need is a cpan module avialable even in Debian repository.

    Solution is called Portal which holds Areas/CMS/Login folder inside it. Login controller in CMS/Controllers is the same as AccountController in Portal solution. I customized Login and it works all fine except one thing: When I use [Authorize] filter and If user is not logged in than he is redirected to http://localhost:1177/Account/LogOn?ReturnUrl=%2fCMS%2fArticle and I would like that redirection takes user to here: http://localhost:1177/CMS/Login Any idea how to solve this?     I am unable to get an XMLHttpRequest object to work correctly in a Dashboard widget I am writing. I've isolated it to a trivial example not working in the global scope of the main.js file: xhr = new XMLHttpRequest; xhr.open( 'GET', "http://google.com", false ); xhr.send(''); When the last line is executed I get the error "ABORT_ERR: XMLHttpRequest Exception 102" (this is in the Dashcode debugger). Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong here?

  • Nh.Burrow with WCF

    Hello, After implementing Nh.Burrow in an asp.net application, I was wondering how to do it for a WCF-service. My first idea was to put a the BurrowFramework().InitWorkSpace(); in each method and set the InstanceContextMode to per Call on these methods. Now I have two questions: Are there better methods to combine Nh.Burrow with WCF? Is there a way to create and use a Long Burrow Conversation with WCF? Regards, Jochen
