• VirtualBox error VERR_SUPDRV_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND

  I am using Fedora 12, with kernel stv-fedora 2.6.31.12-174.2.22.fc12.i686 I have install VirtualBox OSE v3.1.4-1.fc12. When I start VirtualBox I get the following error: Failed to start the virtual machine WinXP32. Failed to open/create the internal network 'HostInterfaceNetworking-eth0' (VERR_SUPDRV_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND). One of the kernel modules was not successfully loaded. Make sure that no kernel modules from an older version of VirtualBox exist. Then try to recompile and reload the kernel modules by executing '/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup' as root (VERR_SUPDRV_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND). However, if I run /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup I get this error: -bash: /etc/init.d/vboxdrv: No such file or directory How do I get rid of the error and run VirtualBox?

• Assigning a home DNS to be secondary only?

  Hi. I have a small domain lab set up at home, including DNS/DHCP on the Win2008 server. I'd like to be able to refer to my domain clients by name, but I find that I get a slowdown when using an internal DNS. Win DNS refers to my ISP's upstream dns (I also tried Google's DNS servers for a little while) but it feels like there's an extra couple seconds for each request when I'm using anything except the DNS servers fetched via DHCP from my ISP. I tried adding my local DNS to my router's DHCP (Need to use router to fetch DHCP info from ISP, even though none of it ever changes, since I'm behind NAT) So, my question is: Is there any way to set my internal DNS server to be secondary to a dynamically retrieved upstream DNS? I want the internal server to be queried only if the ISP dns fails, or to be queried only for a certain TLD (.iv right now. I guess for best practices I should change it to .internal)

I've seen solution on the internet. The thing is, that every CGRect in the array is converted to an NSString (using NSStringFromCGRect()) and then saved. Is it a good approach? 2)This is bigger problem for me. Even if I comment this line and then run the code successfully, then save(archive) the data and then try to load (unarchive) them, no data is loaded. There aren't any error but currentGame object does not have data that should be loaded. Could you please give me some advice? This is first time I'm using archivers and unarchivers. • Firefox Furigana Injector on Debian

  I'm using Iceweasel (un/rebranded Firefox) 3.5.9 on Debian (amd64). I want to use the "Furigana Injector" plugin. I installed it via the Tools - Add-ons menuitem (version 1.3), and restarted Firefox. Unfortunately, when I click the button, it only says: "The 'SimpleMecab' XPCOM component could not be loaded." in a dialog box, several dozen times (!). I found a Debian package "libmecab1", but installing it didn't help. Is there some "mecab" package I can install that will make this work?

• Silverlight 3 Dynamic DataGrid RowStyle Ignored

  I subclassed the standard DataGrid into SpecialDataGrid so I could override the KeyDown/KeyUp events. Other than that SpecialDataGrid is exactly the same as DataGrid. At run-time I dynamically create a bunch of these SpecialDataGrids. When a user clicks a row in the grid it hightlights, which is fine, but when that grid loses focus, it leaves a residual gray highlight on the last-selected row, which is not fine. I've heavily edited the RowStyle and CellStyle I'm applying to these Grids to more-or-less remove all formatting. I even added a static SpecialDataGrid to the app with test data so I could see if the RowStyle was somehow incorrect, applying the same RowStyle and CellStyle that I'm applying to the dynamically generated one (you'll see it in the code below). What I saw was that the "test grid" showed up exactly as I wanted, and the real grid is ignoring part of the RowStyle! Has anyone run into this issue or have any ideas of how to correct it?   I'm trying to load Exchange Management Shell and it gives me a big 'ol red error that says: Import-Module : There were errors in loading the format data file: Microsoft.PowerShell, , %APPDATA%\Roaming\Microsoft\Exchange\RemotePowerShell\DOMAINNAME.format.ps1xml : File skipped because of the following validation exception: File %APPDATA%\Roaming\Microsoft\Exchange\RemotePowerShell\DOMAINNAME.format.ps1xml cannot be loaded. The file %APPDATA%\Roaming\Microsoft\ExchangeRemotePowerShell\DOMAINNAME\DOMAINNAME.format.ps1xml is not digitally signed. The script will not execute on the system. Please see "get-help about_signing" for more details... The %APPDATA% is stored on an external server on my network (that I can ping to without problems). I am missing a ton of PS cmdlets too, which I'm presuming are stored in '*.format.ps1xml' Can someone tell me where to start?

  I read about the CRIME attack against TLS Compression (CRIME is a successor to the BEAST attack against ssl & tls), and I want to protect my webservers against this attack by disabling SSL Compression, which was added to Apache 2.2.22 (See Bug 53219). I am running Scientific Linux 6.1, which ships with httpd-2.2.15. • Register a dll in Windows Server 2003

  I'm trying to register some DLLs for a particular application but having some problems. The DLLs are stored in the application folder in the D: drive. I run cmd.exe, go to the D: drive and run regsvr32, but it gives me the error: "The was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. This file cannot be registered." After searching for other solutions, I also tried copying the DLLs into the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder and running regsvr32 directly there but that didn't work either. It gave me the same error. I'm not very familiar with Windows Administration, so I may need detailed instructions/explanations. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!

• COMException when trying to use a Library

  Hi Guys, I have an ASP.net WebService which uses a Library, this has a dependency on some third party .dlls. If I add a reference to the Library to my webservice, I get a COMException and I can't load the site. I thought it may be to do with aspnet user credentials, so I have tried impersonating and using processModel in machine.config but nothing seems to work. The .dlls are for communicating with hardware so I am not even using them on the server just other parts of the library, is there any way I can fix this? I'm running on Windows XP Pro SP3 with Visual 2008 SP1 and .net 3.5. I am thinking the only way of fixing it, is to split up the library into hardware and non-hardware based. • How to fix "Xlib: extension "RECORD" missing on display :1" in vnc session?

  I am running a JNativeHook capture program on Ubuntu. When I run the session on default X session things are working fine. However when I run the same program from vnc session, it fails with "Xlib: extension "RECORD" missing on display". I checked that this extension is loaded in X which is started by display manager/init. However I am not sure if indeed is initialized during vncserver startup. I could not see anything related in the vnc log. I tried create custom xorg.conf with Module section, which explicitly loads RECORD extension as suggested by many posts but did not help. My environment: Xorg-server: 2.1.12.4-6 tightvncserver: 1.3.9 The same thing works fine on my CentOS 6.4 setup.

• Illustrator CS4: SVG Export error "Transforms are Expanded"?

  I get the following error when trying to save my image to SVG (via "Save Copy As"): Transforms are expanded. When I try to load the SVG in another program, all I get is a blank canvas. I ultimately want the path data to feed into RaphaelJS, but the path data that I got by clicking on the Show Code button during the SVG export also yields a blank canvas with RaphaelJS (and I've verified that RaphaelJS is loaded, and it is rendering properly). I'm convinced that this export error in Illustrator is the problem, but I can't figure out how to make it go away and export my SVG graphic properly. Can anyone help? Thanks!

• EC2 hosted service multi-tenant dynamic DNS solution

  I want to change the model of my EC2 hosted service to have a separate sub domain for each tenant (ie. .example.com). My primary DNS is now with dnsmadeeasy.com, but their dynamic DNS offering seem pretty weak: it requires the API to use my full dnsmadeeasy.com account credentials, I rather have the API use a limited privilege credential that can only add/remove/modify subdomain records from what I gather it only allows to modify existing records, does not allow me to dynamically add/remove records for new tenant subdomains My question what are my alternatives? Is there something in the dnsmadeeasy API offering I misunderstood and I should just use them? Is there some other similar DNS service that has a DDNS offering that satisfies my requirements? Or should I just bite the bullet and host my own DNS (my fear is not configuration/learning/know how, my fear is reliability). If you recommend the latter, can you detail the necessary steps or a link to a good tutorial how to?

  I've got an Ubuntu 64bit VM that I derived from a ~1GB ova file, I used it under VMware vSphere to install some more software on it and use the system against a few datasets that took some 2-3GB of space, but now that I deleted these big files, I was expecting that the newly generated ova file from it would also take about ~1.1GB of space, but instead is taking about 3GB. If I look at the details the .vmdk file in virtualbox, I see the following: Hart Disk: SATA Port 0 Type (Format): Normal (VMDK) Virtual Size: 8.00 GB Actual Size: 7.90 GB Details: Dynamically allocated storage Location: /somewhere/myVM-disk1.vmdk Attached To: myVM.virtualbox The size of the ova when I export this machine is ~3GB. Any ideas how I can shrink it?

• OpenLDAP and Samba, can't log onto Samba share from Windows

  The former jackass IT-guy that I'm taking over for had a Samba share setup on a Fedora server that uses our OpenLDAP server to authenticate users who want to log in from Windows. We recently added a new employee and I jumped through the LDAP hoops to add them to the system. However, I can't seem to use their login to access the Samba share. I'm looking through the LDAP settings and Groups and comparing the new user account to existing ones, and I can't figure out what settings in LDAP are required for this user to be able to access the Samba share. Of course the former idiotic IT-guy didn't document a single thing and has all sorts of weird setups on the network. So I'm at a bit of a loss on knowing what to look for here. Where should I start? On the server that is hosting the Samba share, he has samba running obviously but also has smbldap-tools loaded as well.

• VBE6.dll not found when opening Access 2007 database in Access 2010

  I have an access 2007 database that has some VBA code in it. I need to open this database in Access 2010, but when I first open it I get an error that says: the expression on open you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: file not found: VBE6.dll I believe it's becuase Access 2010 references VBE7.dll when it loads up, and my database was built to reference VBE6.dll. I've tried putting VBE6.dll in the same folder that VBE7.dll resides in, hoping it would just get loaded up, but no luck. What can I do to resolve this?

• Samba4 advice for production use

  I have an old Samba 3 + LDAP server installed that needs to be rebuilt. I'm weighting my options, and Windows Server seems too expensive at the moment, and Samba 4 appeared to be a nice option, coupled with the last Bind 9 that can dynamically add the computers to the DNS. I have about 30 workstations, so I still consider it a small network. My questions are: Is Samba 4 stable enough for production? It seems as if the Samba team is too cautious on when to call their version final, or even beta, as compared with other open source projects. What Linux distribution would you recommend to set it up? I usually use Ubuntu Server, but may use another one if installing / maintaining Samba 4 is better on that one.

  I am getting the following error when I try to build an ASP.NET 4 project in Visual Studio 2010: "Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Dev\project\trunk\bin\Elmah.dll' or one of its dependencies. Operation is not supported. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131515)". I have verified that the dll does, in fact, exist, and is getting copied to the bin folder correctly. I have also tried removing and then re-adding the reference to the project. The build only fails when I switch the Solution Configuration to "Release". It does not fail when the Solution Configuration is set to "Debug".   http://wiki.openvz.org/Setting_up_an_iptables_firewall mentions to load xt_state before starting a container in order to run iptables in containers. so I ran modprobe xt_state on the host and restarted the container and it worked great. To make this persist I added xt_state to /etc/modules. The problem is when I restart the physical node the containers iptables wont work unless I manually restart the container, at which point it'll work again. lsmod shows that xt_state is loaded. anyone know why my containers iptables won't work until I manually restart the container?

• Server 2003 on domain wont let domain user have local profile

  I have a few servers that are acting in this behavior, you log in and always get put into a temporary profile. The server is licensed for TS. The user I am testing with has local admin rights so it doesn't seem to be a permission issue on the server. I'll first get a message that the users roaming profile cannot be found, even though we dont use roaming profiles. I then get another message immediately after saying a local profile could not be loaded, so it will only use a temp profile. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• RHEL 5.x SCSI Driver .img update for initrd.img

  I have production DB server (RHEL 5.1) with LSI Megaraid driver loaded during setup via DUD (Driver Upd Diskett). Now I'd like to update kernel and other packeges to 5.4 version. I also downloaded new LSI SCSI driver (megasr-13.11.0922.2009-1-rhel50-u4-all.img ). Could you explain the necessary steps to make this driver visible on boot for new kernel (lets assume, that I've already update kernel to 5.4)? I read the article on Redhat - "How do I add a driver to the initrd.img". Does it contain all the steps I need? Thanks in advance!

• Sony Vaio Hard Drive replacement won't boot

  I'm working on a Sony Vaio VGN-CR120e. I've cloned the original SATA 1.5 drive with Norton Ghost on to 2 new hard drives, the second of which is a Seagate 7200.4 320Gb 7200 RPM, with the jumper set to limit to SATA 1.5. (The first drive is a WD Scorpio Black 320Gb 7200RMP, which has no SATA 1.5 override support). Neither of the cloned drives will boot - I immediately get a BlackSOD saying: "Windows failed to start blah blah blah" "File \Windows\system32\winload.exe" "Status: 0xc000000e" "Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt." I've done this hundreds of times on other PC's, and this is the first time I've encountered such an error. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on how to proceeed, as I would rather not reinstall Vista unless absolutely necessary.
