• dotted stroke in <canvas>

  I guess it is not possible to set stroke property such as CSS which is quite easy. With CSS we have dashed, dotted, solid but on canvas when drawing lines/or strokes this doesn't seem to be an option. How have you implemented this?   With jquery it's very easy to insert some element inside another element using the selector technology, I am wondering if there is any python library that can do things similar with jquery, the reason is I want server side python program to produce the static pages, which needs to parse the html and insert something into it. Or other alternative, not in python language at all?   This is quite a quick question. I currently use do_this if (testvar ||= false) Which works just fine. But this approach unnerves me because while fast, it does not short-circuit like defined?(testvar) && testvar does, and it instantiates and assigns a value to a local variable that is subsequently never used, which seems inefficient. I enjoy the very reasonable fact that instance variables are nil before assignment, but I'd like for the situation to be just as easy for local variables.

• Are there localization tools which spot content strings in xaml/wpf?

  When globalizing a wpf application with static resx classes, it's very easy to miss the odd label or button that has its Content property set to a hard coded string in a particular language, ie English. These should of course be moved off to a {x:Static ...} so they can be localised for each culture. Are there any tools which can spot this and warn you? Built in to VS would be ideal, but I'm thinking that 'style cop' type build tools would do the job as well.

• loading xml without invalid character errors

  at the moment im loading xml and i am getting error: System.Xml.XmlException: ' ', hexadecimal value 0x17, is an invalid character. Line 2762, position 16. it is easy to fix. just open xml and remove the character. but I need to know is it possible to load xml even with invalid characters and use it for parsing. and is there any downside?
