• What is the best strategy for a streaming screen capture application ?

  Ok Ive figured out how to do a screen capture of my desktop using Windows Media Encoder 9 + SDK and saving it as a movie on my hardrive. But now I want to take my project further and stream a realtime screen capture of my desktop . The idea is that users accessing my asp.net website will be able to view whatever Im doing on my desktop in real time via the video streaming from my computer. I really dont need the source code just the best strategy, procedure and server requirements.How will users access the streaming video on my website? Will it work on my godaddy shared hosting account or at what point will I need an upgrade? Will I be saving the stream to a file on the server for users to access or is there a way to stream directly ? I just need someone to point me in the right direction...

• how to represent negative number to array of integers ?

  I must convert string of 1324312321 to array of integers in java this is fine. I could use integer parseint and string substring method but how do I repesent -12312312 to my original array of integer.. the fact that - is a char / string and convert to array of integer would alter the value ( even though I convert - to integer-equivalent , it would change the rest of 12312312) it must be an array of integers and how should I convert negative numbers and still keeep the same value somehow reminding me of two complements trick but i dont think i need to go down to binary level in my program.. any other trick for doing this? thanks!

• Nivo Slider thumbnails not displaying properly in IE

  Making a new site but something is happening to it in IE. I've purchased the Nivo Slider for wordpress plugin and it working fine however it's not displaying the thumbnails under the banner in IE. This is what it looks like in firefox This is what it looks like in IE Because this is a plugin (and the website isn't giving me any support after 2 days) I dont really have the source CSS but I was hoping you could take a look at it with come developer tools to see why it might not be showing in IE?   i have a style : .window .div { border:medium solid #000000; height:150px; background-color: #0099FF; } and then i have another style: #NewDiv { font:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 24px; height: 20px; border-bottom-width: medium; border-bottom-style: solid; border-bottom-color: #000000; } I need to put a #NewDiv div tag inside of window .div, BUT... #NewDiv must retain its own styling while sitting inside of window .div div tags. How do I do this? Currently when I try, #NewDiv takes on the same styling as window .div when i place it inside of it and i dont want that at all. Any suggestions?

  Hi Guys, I want my Java application to send out emails to users. But I cant get a good solution. Now, I got some on Google but they use a SMTP server which I dont have. I was wondering if setting up one on my Linux machine would be easy? So, I am using mailx now to send out emails but it sends emails from root which is definately not good. Is there any way to send out emails from a proper email using java? like you can do in php and other languages?

  I want to create a search query on MySQL database that will consist of 5 different strings typed in from user. I want to query 5 different table columns with these strings. When I for example have input fields like: first name, last name, address, post number, city. How should I query the database that I dont always get all the rows. My query is something like this: SELECT user_id, username from users where a like %?% AND b like %?% AND c like %?% AND d like %?% AND e like %?%; When I exchange the AND for OR I always get all the results which makes sense, and when I use AND I get only the exact matches... Is there any function or statement that would help me with this?

  I originally started by selecting customers from a group of customers and then for each customer querying the records for the past few days and presenting them in a table row.   Is there any way how to propagate properties from child control into parent - so I can access property like - Parent.Property1 instead of Parent.Child.Property1 ? I cant use inheritance - my parent cant be extended child type - its inherited from different class.   what i want to do is that when you vote Y or N (two different radio buttons) and then it inserts into the "vote" column(in database) = Y or N(what you pickd), if nothing then echo error. I know how to do this like halfway, i never worked with radiobuttons before so i need you guys. Here's a two radio button right: Yes: <input type="radio" value="Y" id="voteYes" name="vote"></input> <br> No: <input type="radio" value="N" id="voteNo" name="vote"> </input> I gave the value N and Y, not the same ID, but the same name. • CakePHP delete() function is not working

  Hello, Im just cracking open cakePHP (v1.3.2). I set it up on my local wamp server, seems to work fine except the delete() function doesn't work. I'm following their blog tutorial exactly, its as simple as it can be so I don't understand why its not working. Heres the function in my PostsController class: function delete($id = NULL) { $this->Post->delete($id); $this->Session->setFlash('The post with id: '.$id.' has been deleted.'); $this->redirect(array('action'=>'index')); } The "Delete" link's url looks like http://localhost/posts/delete/id:1 (where the id number matches the particular post, obviously). It redirects and sets the flash message, however there is no number where $id should be in the message, and the post isn't deleted. It seems the proper id is passed through the url, but I don't think it is getting into the function. I dont get it. Any ideas???

  i have a database that already has a users table COLUMNS: userID - int loginName - string First - string Last - string i just installed the asp.net membership table. Right now all of my tables are joined into my users table foreign keyed into the "userId" field How do i integrate asp.net_users table into my schema? here are the ideas i thought of: Add a membership_id field to my users table and on new inserts, include that new field in my users table. This seems like the cleanest way as i dont need to break any existing relationships. break all existing relationship and move all of the fields in my user table into the asp.net_users table. This seems like a pain but ultimately will lead to the most simple, normalized solution any thoughts?

  I have a function that checks the age of a form submission and then returns new content in a div depending on their age. right now I am just using getElementById to replace the html content. BUt I think would work better for me if I could also add a class to a div as well. The problem is on a particular product i need to check IF my pages contains: <span class="ProductNameText">This is product ABC</span> This is a work around because the customer only has 2 products which dont require 25 quantity. Ideally i would want to check if a page contained Kit Option form fields and then add 25 to the box. Any ideas on how to check for a span and then update the quantity. But the quantity shouldnt be forced, so if the user wants 6 items they should be able to add that figure.

  Hi, Im trying to load a custom error document for a 404 error using a .htaccess file on a linux server, the page gets the current page URL then redirects to another site (which is retrieved from a db) based on an id it retrieved from the URL. The current error documents are stored here: /error_docs/ - i dont have permission to upload anything other than the HTML files that are already in there /HTTPDocs/301redir.php is the site root where the .htaccess file is. i have used the following to load the 301redir.php page as the error doc, which works in FF but no other browsers. ErrorDocument 404 /310redir.php using .htaccess is my only real option for changing this, is there a way to get around this issue and make it work across all browsers?

• Creating immutable objects from javabean

  Hi All, I am involved in this project where we are building on good bit of legacy code. I have a particular situation about one big java bean object which has to be transferred over wire. So my first thought was to make it immutable and serializable to do the trick .At this point I am faced with a few difficult choices :- 1 Ideally I want some way to automatically generate an immutable, serializable version of this class. I dont have the scope to refactor or alter this class in any way and i would really really hate to have to copy paste the class with a different name ?? 2 Assuming that i gave up on 1 i.e i actually chose to duplicate code of the HUGE javabean class , i still will be in the unsavoury situation of having to write a constructor with some 20-25 parameters to make this class immutable. what is a better way to make a class immutable other than constructor injection ??
