• CSS Doozie: Replacing BG Image on SELECT dropdown

  I need to be able to change the background-image property of a SELECT drop-down using JavaScript/CSS. We have been able to accomplish this in Firefox, but it doesn't appear to be supported at all in IE. From what I've read, IE won't support this. But I'm wondering if there's anything else I could try. Does anyone here have any recommendations?

  Hi all, We are using Carrot in our Python project. I wrote a Python script acting as the consumer of the message queue. I invoked this Python script using command line shell in Windows 7 as python consumer.py However, after a while, the running session was aborted and the error is: [errno 10054] An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host The producer session is still running fine on the Linux server. Just wondering how can I fix this and have a long running consumer session on Windows Thanks in advance.

• Can the google map API return a street address that was clicked.

  Hi guys, I'm trying to work out an app design in my head and I would like the user to be able to click there destination address on the map of there area. If I know the user is in Liverpool is it possible to pop up the map over liverpool and then allow the user to select on the map where they wanna go, and the google map/api return the street or the name of the area? I was thinking of just putting memcached in its place and I'm wondering whether or not to get rid of the internal caching.   Is there a way to suppress warnings in Xcode? For example I am calling an undocumented method and since the method is not in the header I get a warning on compile. I know I can add it to my header to stop the warning, but I am wondering if there is a way other then adding it to the header (so I can keep the headers clean and standard) to suppress the warning? • Faster code with another compiler

  I'm using the standard gcc compiler in math software development with C-language. I don't know that much about compilers or compiler options, and I was just wondering, is it possible to make faster executables using another compiler or choosing better options? The default Makefile sets options -ffast-math and -O3 and I think both of them have some impact in the overall calculation time. My software is using memory quite extensively, so I imagine some options related to memory management might do the trick? Any ideas?

  Hi I am wondering how can do a mass insert and bulk copy at the same time? I have 2 tables that should be affect by the bulk copy as they both depend on each other. So I want it that if while inserting table 1 a record dies it gets rolled back and table 2 never gets updated. Also if table 1 inserts good and table 2 an update fails table 1 gets rolled back. Can this be done with bulk copy?
