• WCF: 'Update Service Reference' hoses my files.

  Every time that I make a change to the contract of my WCF service, I need to have Visual Studio update the service references in all of my client projects. This process regenerates my client's app.config file and, since I have hand-tuned the "bindings" section of the file, I need to back-up my file and then restore it each time I have VS do the update. Is there a way to avoid this necessity (eg: have VS update the service reference without rewriting anything in app.config)? Thanks

• eclEmma - full code coverage on class header?

  Hi, I have a class that starts with: public class GeneralID implements WritableComparable<GeneralID>{ ... } And another that is: public class LineValuesMapper<KI, VI, KO, VO> extends Mapper<LongWritable, Text, Text, IntWritable>{ ... } All methods in these classes are covered. But not their header. The header of both classes gets painted as yellow with EclEmma. Is there anything I can do to fully cover the class header?

  I am getting uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: [@name='rbRewSelectionGroup'] when I load the page: <script language="javascript"> $("input[@name='rbRewSelectionGroup']").click(function() { $(this).closest("form").submit(); }); </script> I am not seeing it. I do not see anything wrong with this code at all. I do have the jQuery (1.4.2) library loaded with the page.

  I want to have developers write some custom apps for a site in Javascript but I want to sandbox it so they can't do anything naughty like redirect the user, set the body display to none etc etc. I have a namespace in Javascript where all the functions they'll ever need exist in there so I was thinking to create a sandbox would be a matter of: with(Namespace) { //App code goes here where they can only access Namespace.* } How is easy is it to get around this and what other methods can be done? Would rather not have to moderate every submitted app.

  I have an ASP.NET web application developed in VS 2008 and i have implemented ASP.NET web forms URL routing by following this link http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/articles/051309-1.aspx#postadlink It works pretty good when i run it on the Visual studion IDE.But does not works when i created a site under my IIS and deployed the same files there.I have set ASP.NET version as 2.0 in the Properties window of my application too.But does not work. • Good alternative to Eregi() in PHP

  I often find myself doing quick checks like this: if (! eregi('.php',$fileName)) $filename.='.php'; But sadly eregi() is going to be deprecated in PHP 6, which means all of my code that uses it will be rendered useless :(. Is there another function that behaves exactly the same way as eregi()? I don't know anything about reg exps and don't want to learn, so preg_match() etc won't work for me.

  When debugging in PHP I frequently find it useful to simply stick a var_dump($foo, $bar, ...) in my code to show me the the what a variable is, what is value is, and the same for anything that it contains. What is a good python equivalent for this? I have seen several things in my Google searching that are somewhat equivalent, but nothing that is the same or better.

It seems that everyone is using TortoiseSVN nowadays, which unfortunately doesn't install without administrator access. Is there any way around it or another client I can try?   I'm trying to convert a 2D array to grayscale but using mat2gray doesn't do anything and imshow() appears to create a binary image that when I graph I cannot rotate it, e.g. the original array is 2d but maps in 3d. So, what is the best way to take a grayscale of 2d array in Matlab so if you have A=rand(5,10) or something and want to take a grayscale of that, what is the best way?

• Visual Studio 2008: Setting the vertical separation to default in wpf designer

  I favour the vertical separation over the horizontal separation in VS2008 wpf designer. But after deleting the .suo (fresh checkout, new project, etc.) this setting is gone. Is there a way to tell visual studio to default to the vertical separation instead of the horizontal for wpf designer ? I can not find anything in the "options". Did I miss this setting?

• Windows Netbeans with PHPunit, not working

Netbeans keeps saying the version of PHPUnit is too old and that I need at least 3.3.0, while I am using 3.3.9. Screenschots: I haven't editted anything about the files, I just downloaded the tgz, unzipped it all and put up the link.

• Calling COM Library From XBAP

  I am trying to call an old COM library from my XBAP and continue to receive the following exception: System.AccessViolationException was unhandled Message: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. I have tried adding the HKLM value for RunUnrestricted to no avail. I don't get anything else but this error when calling the library. Any ideas? (This library even works from a pure ASP.NET app)
