  I'm trying to create a Regular Expression to match "wiki style" lists as in (using preg_replace_callback() ): * List Item 1 * List Item 2 *# List Item 2.1 *# List Item 2.2 * List Item 3 Asterisks denote Unordered Lists while Number-Signs denote Ordered Lists. I'm trying to get this so it can match infinite depth and so that * and # can be mixed. I tried the following expression (and variations of it): /\s([*#]{1,}) ([\S ]+)\s/si But it doesn't seem to want to work. What am I doing wrong? Or is there a better way of accomplishing this?

• Delete all records that have no foreign key constraints

  I have a SQL 2005 table with millions of rows in it that is being hit by users all day and night. This table is referenced by 20 or so other tables that have foreign key constraints. What I am needing to do on a regular basis is delete all records from this table where the "Active" field is set to false AND there are no other records in any of the child tables that reference the parent record. What is the most efficient way of doing this short of trying to delete each one at a time and letting it cause SQL errors on the ones that violate constraints? Also it is not an option to disable the constraints and I cannot cause locks on the parent table for any significant amount of time.

• JavaScript lazy regex for matching HTML tags

  Hi, I'm having a problem writing a regular expression for matching HTML tags. I found a similar entry here, but this didn't quite work in my case. Here's my test string: <div id="div0" class="myclass">here's some text that may include whitespace</div><div id="div1" class="myclass"> and some more here </div> And here's my regex based on the aforementioned entry: <div[^>]*class="myclass">[^~]*?<\/div> Note that I need to match the first instance of <div /> with class of "myclass." • Apple Magic Trackpad Gestures carried out as personalized Commands in Windows

  I want to have the Apple Magic Trackpad to work on Windows, but NOT as a regular Mouse! I will need the normal Trackpad Gestures to work with a c# Application (i.e. when carring out a 2 finger swipe to the left, it will start playing a song...). I guess I´ll have to write my own driver? Is there a way to use Apples MAgic Trackpad Driver for Windows and re-write that one? OR is there any way (API, self-written driver), so that I could just hook the gestures to my Commands? Or any RAW Input examples? Does anybody know how to do that, or where to start? Thank you so much, I´m really lost.

• MS-SQL statement to replace/delete sub-strings

  Hi, I have a table with 6 columns containing HTML content with some markups in it and now when moving to a new designed site most of this HTML code has to be deleted. More or less all tags except and . Is there a nice way of doing this, identify all tags end delete them within the data? I'm sure there are no < symbols in the test so a regular expression would maybe work? My alternative is to fecth every row, process it and update the database but I'm guessing this is possible to do in SQL directly. Thanks, Stefan

• Why Is my UISlider Thumb Image Being Shown Multiple Times and Not Disappearing As They Should?

  This slider is possessed: When I move the slider thumb left or right, it leaves the original image there (creating an extra image). This doesn't happen every time and the only consistency i've noticed is that it's inconsistent. When the table is in "Editing mode" it is more likely to create a duplicate thumb image, but it also does so in regular mode. • Performance intensive string splitting and manipulation in java

  What is the most efficient way to split a string by a very simple separator? Some background: I am porting a function I wrote in C with a bunch of pointer arithmetic to java and it is incredibly slow(After some optimisation still 5* slower). Having profiled it, it turns out a lot of that overhead is in String.split The function in question takes a host name or ip address and makes it generic: 123.123.123.123-*.123.123.123 a.b.c.example.com-*.example.com This can be run over several million items on a regular basis, so performance is an issue.

• Custom dropdown for CComboBox

  I'm trying to create a custom dropdown for a derivative of CComboBox. The dropdown will be a calendar control plus some 'hotspots', e.g. So I figure the best way to achieve this is to have a simple CWnd-derived class which acts as the parent to the calendar control, and have it paint the hotspots itself. The window needs to be a popup window - I think - rather than a child window so that it isn't clipped. But doing this causes the dialog (on which the combobox control is placed) to stop being the topmost (foreground?) window, leading to its frame being drawn differently: This spoils the illusion that the dropdown is part of the combobox since its acting more like a modal dialog at this point. Any suggestions on how I make the custom dropdown behave like the regular dropdown? Are there any other pitfalls I need to watch out for, e.g. focus and mouse capture issues?

  I inherited a mysql database that has a table with columns like this: object_id, property, value It holds data like this: 1,first_name,Jane 1,last_name,Doe 1,age,10 1,color,red 2,first_name,Mike 2,last_name,Smith 2,age,20 2,color,blue 3,first_name,John 3,last_name,Doe 3,age,20 3,color,red ... Basically what I want to do is treat this table as a regular table. How would I get the id numbers (or all properties) of a person who is age 20 sorted by last and than first name? So far I have: SELECT object_id FROM table WHERE property = 'age' AND value = '20' union SELECT object_id FROM table WHERE property = 'color' AND value = 'red' But I'm not sure how to go about ordering the data. • Large number of Google Map Markers and IE6?

  I'm working on an application that generates a large number of Google Map markers (2000 - 7000) via JSON. I'm also using MarkerCluster. It works quick on Chrome and FF but IE6 takes few minutes and just crashes the first time I try to zoom in. I'm not doing any more than just adding the markers to a map using JQuery & GMap API. So I looked at the following URL of the regular Google Map. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=hotel&sll=53.182996,-2.581787&sspn=1.494529,4.927368&ie=UTF8&split=1&rq=1&ev=p&hq=hotel&hnear=&ll=53.123702,-2.730103&spn=1.496594,4.927368&t=h&z=8 It shows a lot of tiny markers (~1000) and works fine on IE6. Do you have any ideas why this works and the markers added via the API struggles? Thanks

  Hey, I need a regular expression to solve the following problem (links to similar problems is also appreciated, related tutorials etc.): __some_words_a_b___ => __some words a b___ ____ => ____ So I want underscores between words to be replaced with space and keep leading and trailing underscores. I found this: ^[ \t]+|[ \t]+$ and I guess it most be something like that. I will use it in jQuery, Java (stdlibs) and maybe XSLT. What is the best way to read this data into a simple list like this: data = [[#meta data 1, skadjflaskdjfasljdfalskdjflsdkfjhasdlkgjhsdlkjghlaskdjasdhfk], [#meta data 2, jflaksdjflaksjdflkjasdlfjasldaksjflkdsajlkdfj], [#meta data 3, alsdkjflasdjkfglalaskdjf]] My initial idea was to use the read() method to read the whole file into memory and then use regular expressions to parse the data into the desired format. Is there a better more pythonic way? All metadata lines start with an octothorpe and all data lines are all alpha-numeric. Thanks!

I want to add a spotlight search functionality - search results being displayed with rich contents like thumbnail etc in a drop down menu changing on each keyup event - just like the apple.com search - to a site, having data in MySQL InnoDB tables. The data is spread into separate tables for categories, help pages, blog pages and so on. The search script must take into account just a subset of columns. Since it seems to be a popular demand, I guess there are some PHP search engine projects (preferably open-source and with memcached support), which could be integrated into the existing system on the basis of regular exports of relevant data from the working db/tables. Are there any solutions out there? Which one would you recommend? Or maybe it would be better to implement it the other way around? Thanks

I have also tried this: r = re.compile(r'(self.uid\s*=\s*)(\S+)') for l in fp: m1 = r.match(l) new=map(int,m1.group(2).split("-") new[4]='RHUI5345JO' But I cannot seem to match the string. • Mapping a drop-down menu over an image

  I have a menu bar that is rotated slightly. Here are two buttons as an example: As a result, I can't use regular HTML to handle this. I need to use a <map> to put hyperlinks over the menu parts. (Or am I missing a killer CSS feature I don't know about?) I want to map drop-down menus to these buttons. • How can I search for numbers in a varchar column

  I've got a simple nvarchar(25) column in an SQL database table. Most of the time, this field should contain alphanumeric text. However, due to operator error, there are many instances where it contains only a number. Can I do a simple search in SQL to identify these cases? That is, determine which rows in the table contain only digits in this column. As an extension, could I also search for those column values which contain only digits and a space and/or slash. In other languages (eg. Perl, Java) a regular expression would resolve this quickly and easily. But I haven't been able to find the equivalent in SQL.

By elegant, I mean something better than simply looping through all of the regexes and checking them against the string and stopping if a match is found. • Paypal recuring IPN signals

  When creating Paypal recurring payments i don't receive any notifications from IPN that the recurring payments were actually made. I do receive the notifications that recurring profiles are created, that regular payments are made, that profile is canceled and so on. But no notifications when Paypal make the recurring payment. The file that process the ipn notification works fine and i think is bug free.It also send me an email every time he got something from Paypal(with row POST data) so i don't think the problem is here. Does Paypal send these notifications.If i set a daily recurring payment i should get a daily notification that payment was made? From what i read in documentation i should get these signals but..   This question is an extension of a previous one I have asked. I have a table (2014_05_31_transformed.Video) with a schema that looks like this. I have put up the JSON returned by the BigQuery API describing it's schema in this gist. I am trying to create a view against this table with an API call that looks like this: { 'view': { 'query': u 'SELECT deleted_mod_time FROM [2014_05_31_transformed.Video]' }, 'tableReference': { 'datasetId': 'latest_transformed', 'tableId': u 'Video', 'projectId': 'redacted' } } But, the BigQuery API is returning this error: HttpError: https://www.googleapis.com/bigquery/v2/projects/124072386181/datasets/latest_transformed/tables?alt=json returned "Invalid field name "deleted_mod_time.usec". Fields must contain only letters, numbers, and underscores, start with a letter or underscore, and be at most 128 characters long." The schema that the BigQuery API does not make any distinction between a TIMESTAMP data type and a regular nullable INTEGER data type, so I can't think of a way to programmatically correct this problem. Is there anything I can do, or is this a bug with BigQuery's view implementation?
