    When one locks the PC using Windows-L it activates a screen which shows account name and the text 'Locked'. There is also a "Switch User" button which open user selection screen. What I would like to, is show directly the user selection screen when one locks the PC. This was easy to do with XP but how can it be achieved on Seven?

    I can't seem to get psexec commands to work on Windows 7 Enterprise. I'm trying to execute a command like this: psexec.exe \\172.16.165.157 -u jc -p testing123 -c -f -i cmd.exe But, I keep getting the error: PsExec v1.94 - Execute processes remotely Copyright (C) 2001-2008 Mark Russinovich Sysinternals - www.sysinternals.com Error copying C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe to remote system: Access is denied. I'm trying to execute the command from a machine running Windows XP Professional. Has anybody seen an issue like this?

    I need to send a CtrlAltDelete to a remote machine through Remote Desktop. The CtrlAltDelete is being intercepted by Windows 8, regardless of whether the remote desktop has focus or is in full screen. I'm remoting in to a Windows XP machine, and I've tried launching Remote Desktop through both the desktop and the Modern UI. How can I send a CtrlAltDelete? I'd rather not install anything on the machine.

  • Possible to (re)sync 2 drives into RAID 1 Array?

    Have an XP machine with 2 drives configured in a RAID 1 array. Trying to fix a boot problem, I took the drives out to run chkdsk on them, and I accidentally got them out-of-sync (event logs, etc). Is there any way to duplicate the contents of one drive onto the other to restore their RAID-ness, or have I really messed myself up?

  • Provisioning desktop fails with App-v 4.5 client

    Did anybode tried to provisioning a Windows desktop with App-v 4.5 client in the image? I've tried it with Windows XP and 7 but after creating the desktop pool, provisioning fails. In the View Manager I see a error: View Composer agent initialization state error (6): Unknown failure (waited 0 seconds). We are using View 4 and also checked Vmware KB: 1011653. The App-v 4.5 client is installed before the View Agent.

    Hi. I have an old box that I'd like to use as a private sever to stream movies off of. My upload speed is about 0.5/Mb/s, so I need something that compresses well. I'd like to be able to access these movies from anywhere, through the web, through some interface (maybe the divx web player? flash player? some other protocol?) Can anyone recommend anything good?     When I plug a USB thumb drive into my Win7 PC, it no longer auto-launches the window giving me options like "Import Photos" or "browse". The drive is recognized but nothing autolaunches. Similarly, CD's don't autoplay either. I verified that Win7 is set to autoplay, per method 1 and 2 of: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/27544-autoplay-enable-disable-autorun.html FYI, there is a similar question (but for Windows XP) here on SU.

  • Outlook accepting meetings on behalf of?

    A couple of my users are having a problem where they will accept a meeting request, but the accept notice sent to the meeting coordinator says, "Accepted on behalf of X user by Y user." I have triple checked the settings for the permissions, and none of the people accepting on behalf of have access. (Not that they are actually doing the accepting anyways.) We are currently using an Exchage2003 server with Office 2007. OS wise it's XP pro SP3.
