• Tracking which computer printed a document on Windows 2003 domain

  Currently, when a user prints a document there is an Event ID 10 recorded in our event log. We have mostly XP Clients on a Win2003 domian. However, I cannot tell which computer this user printed a document from. How can I track which computer a user used to print a particular document? If possible, a free solution would be better.

• Outlook accepting meetings on behalf of?

  A couple of my users are having a problem where they will accept a meeting request, but the accept notice sent to the meeting coordinator says, "Accepted on behalf of X user by Y user." I have triple checked the settings for the permissions, and none of the people accepting on behalf of have access. (Not that they are actually doing the accepting anyways.) We are currently using an Exchage2003 server with Office 2007. OS wise it's XP pro SP3.

• Avoid Windows Explorer to load complete executable file

  On Windows Vista, when browsing to a network folder containing executables, Windows Explorer seems to load all the files completely just to be able to show the executable icon (the resource monitor indicates loads of traffic during the loading of the directory) On XP only a part of the file is loaded. Is there a way to avoid the complete loading of these files? Note that disabling my anti virus does not help.

• Nokia PC Suite hangs at installing required drivers and doesn't connect to phone

  I am unable to connect my Nokia 2690 to my PC via data cable using Nokia PC Suite under Windows XP SP3 Pro 32 bit. Every time I connect my mobile using the data cable, the Nokia App shows a window where it says it's "Installing the required drivers. Please wait". But even after several hours my phone never conects to my PC and the screen remains there idle. I checked in he task manager, Nokia PC Suite didn't go unresponsive.

• How to re-enable Autoplay for removeable drives on Windows 7

  When I plug a USB thumb drive into my Win7 PC, it no longer auto-launches the window giving me options like "Import Photos" or "browse". The drive is recognized but nothing autolaunches. Similarly, CD's don't autoplay either. • Can not copy files from Windows 2003 server over network

  It seemed quite strange. I have a share folder with full read/write permission on my Windows 2003 server. With a XP client, I can create a new folder on the share folder, and I can copy files to it normally, but I can not copy these files back to my client PC. I tried use ftp,and webdav to get the files from server. None of them worked. Is the issue related with NETWORK SERVICE? Thanks for your help.

• Random directories in c:\ that I cannot delete

  I just noticed a few directories in C:\ with long, random hex values. Each of these contains an update directory. When I click on the update directory, I get an access denied message, even though my account has admin privileges (XP Home). Two questions: How can I delete these folders, and how is it possible to restrict a folder this way?

• Noscript button missing in Firefox

  Windows XP professional SP3 Firefox 13.0.1 NoScript Addon 2.4.6 I can't click Javascript links, like for opening a popup window (which I usually don't care about, but this time it was Important :-( ). I mention NoScript as I used to have a button where I could temporarily enable Javascript so the link would work, but with one of the latest updates this seems to be gone. I have "Block popup windows" unchecked and "Enable Javascript" checked in Options. How can I get the NoScript button back?

• How to Mount a USB "Thumb" Drive as "Fixed" in Windows (For Indexing)

  I have over 8GB in my "Code Library" that I maintain on a 64GB ScanDisk Ultra Backup USB Device. Windows Search 4.0 (installed on Windows XP) can index removable drives, but Windows 7 (which uses Windows Search 4.0) cannot because the USB device identifies itself as a Removable drive and Windows 7 refuses to index removable drives. How can I mount the USB Thumb Drive as Fixed instead of Removable? All suggestions welcome and greatly appreciated.

• Find what pages IE is fetching similar to console in firebug?

  Firebug Lite bookmarklet is no help here, on half the pages it doesn't even show up. What I need is basically this: to show what IE is connecting to, because my application is working fine in firefox and chrome, but in an enterprise/corporate environment, I have to get it working with IE as well, and it's not working there. Any ideas of how I can get something similar just to see what the page is trying to (or not trying to) connect to? I'm using IE8 for this (on an windows XP machine, can't use IE9)

• Only Macs can connect to WIFI with WPA-Personal security on.

  I have an odd issue with a Netgear WIFI router, 4 computers, 2 pc laptops with XP and 7 installed, one MacBook Pro and one older Mac mini. With security off everything can connect to the wifi. With WPA-Security on only the Macs can connect to the wifi. I've reset the Netgear router, done everything again from scratch, no deal. The PCs just can't connect.

  I'm trying to run LKL (Linux Keyboard Logger) in a Ubuntu 9.04 VirtualBox VM (VirtualBox 2.2.2 running on a XP host). The package installs fine, but when I try to run it lkl -l -k /usr/share/lkl/keymaps/us_km -o ./kbd.log & it hogs the CPU usage to 50% and never logs a keystroke (in fact the kbd.log file is never created) Any clues? • Could one hypothetically upgrade a computer from Windows 95 to Windows 8

  Hypothetically, could you start with a computer running Windows 95, upgrade this to Windows 98, then upgrade this to Windows XP, then upgrade this to Vista, then to 7 and finally to 8 (consumer preview)? What state would the OS be in after so many upgrades? Would any of the native Windows 95 apps still be sticking around in Windows 8? Has anybody done anything like this before?   Hi, Windows 7 is a great OS but there are some problems which should be solved from Microsoft as fast as possible. On my Computer the LAN connection randomly loses its connection. I don't know why but I think this problem depends on my network driver which is only available for Windows XP (where it always worked perfectly). I can not reproduce this issue.
