  I often see these terms: Windows CE Windows Mobile Pocket PC Windows Mobile Smart Phone I know the difference between the second 2, but I am confused on the first. I thought it was the name of the Mobile OS prior to Windows Mobile 5. But I am seeing it more often in current products. (Here is a current MS Form for developing on it. Here is a current product for creating them.) What is it and how does it relate to the Windows Mobile lines?

• Working with multiple input and output files in Python

  I need to open multiple files (2 input and 2 output files), do complex manipulations on the lines from input files and then append results at the end of 2 output files. I am currently using the following approach: in_1 = open(input_1) in_2 = open(input_2) out_1 = open(output_1, "w") out_2 = open(output_2, "w") # Read one line from each 'in_' file # Do many operations on the DNA sequences included in the input files # Append one line to each 'out_' file in_1.close() in_2.close() out_1.close() out_2.close() The files are huge (each potentially approaching 1Go, that is why I am reading through these input files one at a time. I am guessing that this is not a very Pythonic way to do things. :) Would using the following form good? with open("file1") as f1: with open("file2") as f2: # etc. If yes, could I do it while avoiding the highly indented code that would result? • Why can't I save CSS changes in FireBug?

  FireBug is the most convenient tool I've found for editing CSS - so why isn't there a simple "Save" option? I am always finding myself making tweaks in FireBug, then going back to my original .css file and replicating the tweaks. Has anyone come up with a better solution? EDIT: I'm aware the code is stored on a server (in most cases not my own), but I use it when building my own websites. Firebug's just using the .css file FireFox downloaded from the server, it knows precisely what lines in which files its editing, I can't see why there's not an "Export" or "Save" option which allows you to store the new .css file. (Which I could then replace the remote one with). I have tried looking in temporary locations, and choosing file-save and experimenting with the output options on FireFox, but I still haven't found a way. Here's hoping someone has a nice solution... EDIT 2: The Official Group has a lot of questions, but no answers.

  I want to apply some CSS to text that I can't get marked up in span's. So for example: <li><a href="google.com">This is marked up</a> and this is not </li> I want to select, with either CSS (preferably) or jQuery this bit: and this is not. Maybe there's a method of selecting the entire li then excluding a, that seems like a bypass. The reason why I can't get it marked up is because I'm using WP and prefer to do that than dig into endless lines of php code. Thanks a lot for the help.

  Is there a way to view stack elements like un-assigned return values or exceptions that not assigned to a local variable? (e.g. throw new ...) For example, suppose I have code along the lines of: public String foo(InputStream in) throws IOException { NastyObj obj = null; try { obj = new NastyObj(in); return (obj.read()); } finally { if (obj != null) obj.close(); } } Is there any way to view the return or exception value without stepping to a higher level frame where it is assigned? This is particularly relevant with exceptions because you often have to step back up through a number of frames to find an actual handler. I usually use the Eclipse debugging environment, but any answer is appreciated. Also, if this cannot be done, can you explain why? (JVM, JPDA limitation?)

  I am creating a SharePoint solution project that will install the Telerik dll files into the GAC and write the appropriate lines into the webconfig upon feature activation. My question is, is there a way to get the product key token, version, and culture info of a dll programatically. I have used the System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly() before to get the embedded resources, such as a javascript file, and add it to the appropriate folder. Would this be the same way to get the dll file, and if so what would I do to get the assembly info of an embedded assembly? Thanks for any direction.

  Does anyone have a clue why those two lines would cause that linker error? std::ifstream ifs("filename.file"); boost::archive::binary_iarchive iarchv( ifs ); Error 8 fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'F:\dev\project\build\win32-unit\tests\Debug\framework_core_tests.lib' ramework_core_tests framework_core_tests The same happens with any Boost::Archive type. Its trying to link against a library of the same name as my executable for some reason when that project doesn't nor never existed and is not defined as a library to link against in my project files.

• JTextArea thread safe?

  Hello everyone, I have some code that does some initialization (including making a JTextArea object), starts three seperate threads, and then these threads try to update the JTextArea (i.e. append() to it), but its not working at all. Nothing shows up on the JTextArea (however, during the initialzation, I print some test lines onto it, and that works fine). What's going on? How can I fix this? Also, each of those threads sleeps a random amount of time every time it has to update the JTextArea. Sorry I haven't provided any code, its all spread out over several files.

  I've been trying to create a Compound Control in Android 1.5 (as described here) but havn't been able to find any good examples on how to do this using an XML file to specify a layout. I'm fine with creating an Activity and then loading an xml file using the following in the constructor: setContentView(R.layout.main); However, I want to do this in subclass of LinearLayout - so I can use this compound component in other XML layouts.   I am looking for a Java library that let's you write large PDFs sequentially with a minimum amount of memory. Most of the libraries I had a look at has to build up the document in memory first before you can actually write it. The problem I have to deal with are OutOfMemoryErrors. It would be great if I could flush the writer programmatically whenever needed e.g. for each page. Does anyone have any recommendations? I need something with a license along the lines of the LGPL (so not the GPL or the Affero GPL that iText uses).

  I had a complicated change that affected a bunch of files. I don't remember what bazaar branch I wrote that change in. We have a somewhat complicated merge setup, so the branch I'm in now lumps that change in with a lot of other changes. I'd like to do some very similar work so it would be nice to pull the original diff. I feel like I should be able to use bzr blame. I run this command on one of the files bzr blame --long path/to/file and I find one of the pertinent lines and get something like 1107.6.213 dsmith@satie 20091202 | tinyMCE.init({ Can I use that to figure out what branch and revision the original change came from? What do the 6 and 213 stand for?

Upon some research I saw lot of gui builders but didn't see anything along the lines of what I am looking for.
