• Z-Index problems with IE6 and html <select> element

  I have a <div> that opens up on a jquery hover event (display goes from hidden to block). Sometime it's opens up over some form elements. And of course it works fine in all browsers except IE6. <select> boxes bleed through as if there z-index is higher than the <div> tag. I've tried setting the <div> tag with a higher z-index, but it still gets ignored by IE6. I'm hoping to implement any fix -- jquery or css, I really don't care at this point. Any ideas?

• Format SQL Query Result into web menu

  I am trying to bhuild a drill down menu for my website, where user will click on a category and it will show the subcategories of that clicked category, there could be n-levels. I am able to write sql query which returns the output exactaly as I want, but the problem is...I dont want to show the whole menu to end user, I would like to open/expand only clicked category. my Query output is: 1 IPTV 2 Jadoo Tv 3 Shava Tv 4 Jalva Tv 5 Programming 6 Microsoft 7 Asp.Net 8 PHP so by default IPTV & Programming Should be displayed, since they are parent, and when I click on IPTV it should open the children of IPTV, like I said there could be n-levels. I was thinking, I can load the output of query to webpage and then control the menu navigation with css/javascript. do you guys have any ideas?

• How to reorder table rows (drag-and-drop) along with their sub rows

  I have a table which looks like this (simplified for the example): <table> <tr class="lvl_1"> <td> Level 1 </td> </tr> <tr class="lvl_2"> <td> Level 2 </td> </tr> <tr class="lvl_3"> <td> Level 3 </td> </tr> <tr class="lvl_1"> <td> Level 1 </td> </tr> <tr class="lvl_2"> <td> Level 2 </td> </tr> <tr class="lvl_3"> <td> Level 3 </td> </tr> The content in the rows with the lvl_3 class are children of the previous lvl_2 row, and the lvl_2 rows are children of the previous lvl_1. Had the data been a list, it would have looked something like this: Level 1 -- Level 2 ---- Level 3 Level 1 -- Level 2 ---- Level 3 I'm not looking to implement drag-and-drop sorting functionality, make it possible to rearrange the level 1 and two rows. The tricky part is that once I start moving a row, the corresponding children (and grand-children, if any) should move along with it. Is this even possible with the current markup, or do I have to rearrange the code? Thanks in advance !

• has anyone tried designing a webpage for psp?

  erm im trying to make a personal bible for my psp (i tried googling but the only bible version i've seen on my skimming is on KJV and im trying to make mine have 3 versions namely TNIV, NLT and Amplified Bible) so my only solution was to make on for myself and my approach was to save an html file on my mem-stick and open it up through the console's browser my concerns are: 1. how does the psp browser handle css and javascript? 2. is there a doctype declaration specifically designed for the psp browser? 3. can i use any local database to store my texts for easier query or do i have no choice but rely on static text files? 4. is there anyone in SO who have experienced developing a page for this console and can he/she give me some tips and advice? thanks much in advance for your responses.. :)

• Implementing a runtime Look Up Table in C#

  Hey all, I'm currently working on a robot interface GUI, using C#. The robot has two sensors, and two powered wheels. I need to let the user the option to load a Look Up Table (LUT) during runtime, one for each sensor, that will tell the robot what to do according to the sensor's reading. I think the best way to do it is using a .csv file, formatted like so: index , right wheel order, left wheel order the index is an int between 0-1023 and is actually the sensor's reading. the orders for the right and left wheel are integers, between -500 - 500. Example - left sensor's readings: 1,10,20 meaning: sensor reads 1 -- left wheel 10 rpm right wheel 20 rpm So my question is this: what is the best way to implement it? using a dataset?(if so, how?) using an array? (if so, how do I load it during runtime?) Any help would be much appreciated, Yarok

• Dash surrounding text

  Given the above dynamically generated text (meaning that I can't just use an image), I am trying to recreate the design using just html and css selectors. I would like to just use a single h4 with the containing text, but am open to other solutions. I would prefer to not use absolute positioning, but again, if that is the only way, then so be it. I have tried surrounding with span tags, but those are inline elements that don't have an inherent width. The h4 will be nested within a div, though not always of the same class or id. Any ideas or resources to get me started?

  Hi there. I've already achieved this on my iPhone app, but I want to know if it's possible on an HTML page, maybe using CSS effects or similar. As you can see, the current view is split, the bottom part is moved down, and another view is revealed underneath. I have a page I'd like to try this on. • HELP! How can I display one style in Safari and a different style in Chrome?

  My client is starting to get antsy....so any help would be greatly appreciated. I am having issues with my secondary page header images shifting. It is displaying correctly in Firefox, I haven't been able to check in IE yet w/out access to a PC. It was displaying correctly in Chrome, but shifting in Safari. • The 100% width HTML element problem

  When assigning some HTML elements (like a form input) 100% width - you can no longer apply any additional styles that might effect the width. Things like border or padding will cause the element to exceed 100%. This results in awkward elements that may be outside of their parent elements. Since CSS doesn't support width: 100% - 2px; The only way I know around this is to use an absolute pixel width (width: 98px) or chop the element off at 100% which is not really an option. <div style="overflow:hidden;"> <input style="width:100%; border: 1px solid #000;" /> </div> Are they're any other ways around this?

  I need a CSS selector that can find the 2nd div of 2 that has the same class. I've looked at nth-child() but it's not what I want since I can't see a way to further clarify what class I want. These 2 divs will be siblings in the document if that helps.   I am attempting to design and build a website for my friends band. There is minimal content to be included such as bio,news,enbemdded Audio/Visual material. My web dev expertise is average. I'm basicaly looking for inspiration, I was edging towards embedding a silverlight deepzoom xap object to add some visual stimulation, perhaps by featuring a high res photo of the bandshardware/equipment which zooms when mouseover occurs. Does anyone have any cool ideas for a central feature for this site, and which way to approact it in terms of technique (js,css,silverlight etc) If anyone has any immediate ideas which they think would be cool then I am eager to hear them! Also if anyone can link me to any cool band sites they have come across recently I would be greatful,nothing too complicated though please I will be doing all the work myself. • Put specific tds from a table row into edit using jQuery (then update w/ ajax)

  I'm somewhat new to jQuery, so I could use some help here. This is my issue: I have a php script outputting a dynamic table. Each row has an "edit" button, plus some other fields. Only 3 of those need to be turned into an input box. The edit button should only put that specific row into "edit mode." I got as far as assigning each row a unique class by adding a number to the end of it. I have been able to use jQuery to change all of the rows into edit mode, but I need it to be specific to a row. An example row would have classes like name0, price0, and desc0. The next row would go on to classes name1, price1, and desc1 (for the fields that need changed). How can I reference these values and pass them to jQuery so it processes an event on just those elements?

The style of the div: position: absolute; width: 100%; height: 100%; And my width returning function: function getTableWidth(tableId){ var tabWidth = document.getElementById('pt1::tabb').children[0].children[0].style.width; return tabWidth; } tabWidth is '100%'.
