  • Powershell SQL query--connection string

    I am trying to query several different SQL servers and run a command on each of them. I am unable to get the connection string right. Code, below. I receive the following error:Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication. I thought if I passed it the credentials it wouldn't care about the domain. How do I get around this?   • Simaltaneous connections with PHP and SOAP?

    I'm new to using SOAP and understanding the utmost basics of it. I create a client resource/connection, I then run some queries in a loop and I'm done. The issue I am having is when I increase the iterations of the loop, ie: from 100 to 1000, it seems to run out of memory and drops an internal server error. How could I possibly run either a) multiple simaltaneous connections or b) create a connection, 100 iterations, close connection, create connection.. etc. "a)" looks to be the better option but I have no clue as to how to get it up and running whilst keeping memory (I assume opening and closing connections) at a minimum.   • Is it possible to convert this asp to asp.net?

    I have been tasked with sifting through the worst classic asp spaghetti i've ever come across. The script runs a series of recordsets in sequence, getting 1 record at a time. As the record is built it takes the id and passes it to the next loop, which gets data, and passes on the id to the next loop. It then continues in this manner and builds an unordered list, kicking out the required html as it goes. Here are my efforts so far: have a class delivering data via sqldatareaders and output these to nested repeaters (this failed due to not being able to loop and get the id) Have a datatable populated with all the required data, then datatable.select to filter it out. have 4 datareaders looping and building the ul arraylists (I couldnt get the id's to match up) Please can you suggest the best method (with a bit of sample code if possible) to go about doing this conversion?   • Why do conditional breakpoints slow my program down so much?

    When I'm debugging something that goes wrong inside a loop, say on the 600th iteration, it can be a pain to have to break for every one. So I tried setting a conditional breakpoint, to only break if I = 600. That works, but now it takes almost a full minute to reach that point, where before it was almost instantaneous. What's going on, and is there any way to fix it?

But, when the slider reaches the last image, it will go back to the first image by making all previous images sliding back from left to right.     Basically I have a program which, when it starts loads a list of files (as FileInfo) and for each file in the list it loads a XML document (as XDocument). The program then reads data out of it into a container class (storing as IEnumerables), at which point the XDocument goes out of scope. The program then exports the data from the container class to a database. After the export the container class goes out of scope, however, the garbage collector isn't clearing up the container class which, because its storing as IEnumerable, seems to lead to the XDocument staying in memory (Not sure if this is the reason but the task manager is showing the memory from the XDocument isn't being freed). As the program is looping through multiple files eventually the program is throwing a out of memory exception. To mitigate this ive ended up using System.GC.Collect(); to force the garbage collector to run after the container goes out of scope. this is working but my questions are: Is this the right thing to do? (Forcing the garbage collector to run seems a bit odd) Is there a better way to make sure the XDocument memory is being disposed? Could there be a different reason, other than the IEnumerable, that the document memory isnt being freed? Thanks.   • Powershell if statement not working - help!

    I have a batch file that takes a computer name as its argument and will install Java JRE on it remotely. Now, Im trying to run this Powershell script to repeatedly call the batch file and install Java on any system that it finds without the latest version. It seems to run error-free, but the statements inside the if code block never seem to run - even when the if conditional test evaluates to true. Can anyone look at this script and point out what I'm possibly missing? I'm using the Quest AD cmdlets, and BSOnPosh module.
