  • Is there a way to enable both session and streaming in netTcpBinding?

    Hi I writing a WCF Service that need transfer large files, so i using streaming, but from the other hand i need to do username specific initializations. The problem is that getting the username and perform initialization every time is very expensive. If i could turn on session, i could just save initialized data in local variables in the service instance. Is there a way to turn on both streaming and session in netTcpBinding?

    I need to allow users to upload files onto a server that has an antivirus program running with real-time scanning switched on. What would be a good design to ensure that infected files are not uploaded to the server. Questions - would large files be copied onto disk and then immediately scanned, or would they be scanned as they are copied and not allowed to appear on disk if infected Should i build a seperate infrastructure around this to specifically ionvoke a scan on the copied file ? this might be an issue if the file is deleted through the real-time scan

  • Fibonnaci Sequence fast implementation

    I have written this function in Scala to calculate the fibonacci number given a particular index n: def fibonacci(n: Long): Long = { if(n <= 1) n else fibonacci(n - 1) + fibonacci(n - 2) } However it is not efficient when calculating with large indexes. Therefore I need to implement a function using a tuple and this function should return two consecutive values as the result. Can somebody give me any hints about this? I have never used Scala before.     array_key_exists is not working for large multidimensional array. For ex $arr=array( '1'=>10, '2'=>array('21'=>21, '22'=>22, '23'=>array('test'=>100, '231'=>231), ), '3'=>30, '4'=>40 ); array_key_exists('test',$arr) returns 'false' but it works with some simple arrays.

    I'm trying to sort a bunch of data such that that the size of data input to the program can be larger than the memory available to the JVM, and handling that requires external sort which is much slower than Quicksort. Is there any way of obtaining memory available to the JVM at runtime such that I could use in place sorting as much as possible, and only switch to Mergesort when data input is too large?

    After profiling a large game playing program, I have found that the library function rand() is consuming a considerable fraction of the total processing time. My requirements for the random number generator are not very onerous - its not important that it pass a great battery of statistical tests of pure randomness. I just want something cheap and cheerful that is very fast. Any suggestions?

But, what are the downsides to favouring immutable objects in Java? i.e. incompatibility with ORM or web presentation tools? Inflexible design? Implementation complexities? Is it possible to design a large-scale system (deep object graph) that predominately uses immutable objects?

But after reading about them I'm still no closer to an understanding of what problems I would solve with an HttpHandler or HttpModule. I've worked a fair amount in ASP.NET but it's been a few years -- is this a large gap in my knowledge? Something that's been replaced by more current technology?

    I am working on localization project and when i change the language the UI gets disturbed because some translations are large. For example say there is button with text "Select All". But when this is localized in french it reads as "Sélectionner tout". That is larger than Select All and hence the gui gets affected. Is there any way to localize the gui as well.

When trying to retrieve it (cPicle.loads) i get the following error: loads() argument 1 must be string, not unicode Does anybody have any experience in serializing python objects and storing them in a DB using Django? What is the best way to serialize them to send them across the wire? I'd like something more compact than text, but architecture-independent as the server may not be an x86 machine. The Java application can be changed as needed.
