  I need to perform a very large sql server insert from a c# application. Somewhere in the range of 20,000 through 50,000 records. What is the fastest way through SQL server to perform the insert? • Is it possible to access a remote SWF without needing to download it?

  We have a very large SWF hosted in a website which is just a repository of hundreds of movies/symbols. We load this SWF at the beginning with the Loader class but then the client will access a very few of them at that moment. Is it possible to tell the loader to download symbols only when they're needed? (as with applicationDomain.getDefinition(...)). Thanks in advance.

  Is it possible? Run a cvs diff in terminal at the project root that outputs only modified files (like local files that aren't in source control and local modified files). I'm running cvs diff --brief but I still have too many results since my project is large, and with a lot of subdirectories - it shows the whole hierarchy and I just want to know which files are different from HEAD revision. I'm using Linux.

When running within SQL Management Studio we have the use select to display "Results to Text" so all of the SQL results and print statement display in one place. Now I need to have some C# code also call this auditing procedure at the end of the process and basically store all data that would be in the "Results to Text" window into a .txt file.   Hi, I have a report in report services 2005 that has two date fields. The problem is that if users run this for a large section of time it uses too much resources on our server. It is possible to only allow the end user to enter the start date and then the end date be auto populated/derived from this field (for example they enter the 1st of a month and this automatically change the end date to the last of a month.)

  I'm loading data from my database and I'm doing a sum calculation with a group by. ElectricityReading.sum(:electricity_value, :group => "electricity_timestamp", :having => ["electricity_timestamp = '2010-02-14 23:30:00'"]) My data sets are extremely large, 100k upwards so I was wondering if its possible to use the find_each to batch this to help with memory overhead. I can write the batching manually use limit and offset I guess but I'd like to avoid that if the code already exists.

• Is it possible to unpage all memory in Windows?

  I have plenty of RAM, however, after starting and finishing a large number of processes, it seems that most of the applications' virtual memory has been paged to disk, and switching to any of the older processes requires a very long time to load the memory back into RAM. Is there a way, either via Windows API or via kernel call, to get Windows to unpage all (or as much as possible) memory? Maybe by stepping through the list of running processes and get the memory manager to unpage each process's memory?

This appears to be copying everything in memory, which doesn't seem like it would be that efficient with very large arrays. • Algorithm to rotate an image 90 degrees in place? (No extra memory)

  In an embedded C app, I have a large image that I'd like to rotate by 90 degrees. Currently I use the well-known simple algorithm to do this. However, this algorithm requires me to make another copy of the image. I'd like to avoid allocating memory for a copy, I'd rather rotate it in-place. Since the image isn't square, this is tricky. Does anyone know of a suitable algorithm?
