  • WPF Standard Commands - Where's Exit?

    I'm creating a standard menu in my WPF application. I know that I can create custom commands, but I know there are also a bunch of standard commands to bind to. For example, to open a file I should bind to ApplicationCommands.Open, to close a file I should bind to ApplicationCommands.Close. There's also a large number of EditCommands, ComponentCommands or NavigationCommands. There doesn't seem to be an "Exit" command. I would have expected there to be ApplicationCommands.Exit. What should I bind to the "Exit" menu item? To create a custom command for something this generic just seems wrong.

  • Efficient calculation of matrix cumulative standard deviation in r

    I recently posted this question on the r-help mailing list but got no answers, so I thought I would post it here as well and see if there were any suggestions. I am trying to calculate the cumulative standard deviation of a matrix. I want a function that accepts a matrix and returns a matrix of the same size where output cell (i,j) is set to the standard deviation of input column j between rows 1 and i. NAs should be ignored, unless cell (i,j) of the input matrix itself is NA, in which case cell (i,j) of the output matrix should also be NA. I could not find a built-in function, so I implemented the following code. Unfortunately, this uses a loop that ends up being somewhat slow for large matrices.   • Which jsPerf-test should I consider as standard for checking the performance of javascript template-engines

    I am on a search for a javascript template engine that has good performance when used in large js applications and is also very suitable for mobile applications. So I have gone through the various jsPerf-tests for these. There seems to be a lot which show different results and it is confusing to find out which is the standard test. Can some one guide me a standard jsPerf that I can refer to and that should also include following templates dust, underscore, hogan, mustache, handlebars. From what I have observed dot.js is a constant performer with good rendering speed, but is it mature enough for larger applications ? What is this "with" and "no with" that is shown in the jspref tests? Can some one explain. In all the tests I have seen popular templates like mustache, handlebars, dust, hogan,etc seems to be behind performance than other templates, so why people are using them leaving out the top performers,is it because of maturity of these template engines?     One of my upper classmen has gave me a data set for experimenting with vlfeat's SIFT, however, her extracted SIFT data for the frame part contains 5 dimensions. Recall from vl_sift function: [F,D] = VL_SIFT(I) Each column of D is the descriptor of the corresponding frame in F. F normally contains 4 dimensions which consists of x-coordinate, y-coordinate, scale, and orientation. So I asked her what is this 5th dimension, and she pointed me to search for "standard oxford format" for sift feature. The thing is I tried to search around regarding this standard oxford format and sift feature, but I got no luck in finding it at all. If somebody knows regarding this, could you please point me to the right direction?

    I have rooted my android and am able to edit the hosts file to redirect .com and other standard tld's to my local server with no problems. non standard tld's do not work though. eg. my shop orders system is at http://fired.wok which works find on local machines when added to my windows and linux hosts files but is not resolvable from within my android device. I can use firedwok.co.uk) in the hosts file to point to my local machine but I'd much rather have fired.wok to work so I can use an android tablet to enter orders and deliveries. so, how to make android work with a tld like .wok ?

    Hi! I'm writing a WPF application that uses one document at a time. Is there any standard way to implement the management of the current document? What I mean are the following functions: New document: if there are not saved changes in the current document, a dialog box opens ('Do you want to save changes to {0}?') with Yes/No/Cancel buttons. If Cancel is hit, the operation stops. Open document: same dialog box as at new document, and an Open dialog opens after Save document: if the current document hasn't been saved, a Save dialog opens Save as: you can imagine... So, is there anything standard in the .NET framework like this or do I have to manually implement it?

  • Gacutil.exe on Windows Server 2008 Standard SP2

    I'm trying to deploy a Web Part Feature as part of solution. Solution being add to the store and feature being added successfully. Full trust enabled in Web.Config for bin deployment of the .DLL but Web Part not working when page viewed by a non-admin user... So, decided to deploy to GAC but discovered that gacutil.exe is not included with the OS? The only place I can find it is in the Windows SDK with a download size of over 22GB! I know I can choose to download only certain components, but which ones should I select and are there any dependencies? Better yet, is there an easier way to get a copy of the gacutil.exe tool?

  • Setup FTP access in Windows Server 2008 Web Edition

    Hey all, i am new at setting up a Windows Server so keep that in mind :o) I have following some tutorials online but all seem to have different settings/icons than i do. All i need to setup is a user and password so that i can ftp into the server from my home computer and upload files into the wwwroot directory.     Some PDF files produce garbage ("mojibake") when you copy text. This makes it impossible to search them (whatever you search for will not match the garbage). Does anyone have an easy workaround? An example: TEAC TV manual EU2816STF BTW: I am using Adobe Reader - perhaps an alternative viewer might help?

    I have setup a web server on Amazon with 3 Virtual hosts. For some reason I can't get any of the sites going on it, they all show a 404 error. /var/log/apache2/error.log shows "File does not exist: /etc/apache2/htdocs" I have checked: a2ensite all my virtual hosts actually checked softlinks in sites-enabled access rights in /var/www to 777, in case user is not www-data grep -r htdocs /etc/apache2 (returns nothing) ports.conf has NameVirtualHost directive exactly matching Virtual Hosts What else could this be? ports.conf # If you just change the port or add more ports here, you will likely also # have to change the VirtualHost statement in # /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default # This is also true if you have upgraded from before 2.2.9-3 (i.e. from # Debian etch).     I could do this easily with TextPad, then I got irritated with Textpad once I'd played with Notepad++. Now that I've removed Textpad: I want Notepad++ to take over the right-click Edit option in Explorer, and I want Notepad++ to come up when I type notepad in the command prompt. I know that Notepad++ has a shell extension that allows one to do right-click Edit in Notepad++. But my old right-click Edit link remains, and I keep finding myself clicking on it, only to be rewarded with an error.

  • backup of KVM VM's running on Ubuntu 12.4.1 precise edition from a remote machine

    I am creating a library API which will take the backup of all the VM's running on KVM hypervisor. My VM's can be of any type. I am taking this backup from a remote machine and need to put the backup at remote server. I have KVM, Libvirt installed on my system. Some of my VM's are LVM based and some are normal VM's running on KVM. I research and found out an excellent perl script for taking the backup http://pof.eslack.org/2010/12/23/best-solution-to-fully-backup-kvm-virtual-machines/ but since I am developing this library in C++ I cannot use it however it has given me a good understanding of how it will work. One thing I didnot able to sort out is if my VM's are not created using virt-manager or are created using any other tool them virsh system list command does not give them in the list of running VM's however they are running perfectly on my KVM server. Is there a way to list these VM's in my system list anyhow? secondly, when I am taking backup from the remote machine I am getting out of my ssh mode as soon as my libvirt command finishes and for every command I need to ssh again, Is there a way that I do not need to ssh each and every time? I have already used the rsa key for ssh but when once my command finishes my control moves to the remote machine again and try to find out my source VM location in remote machine's local drives which in turn fails it. here is the main problem I am facing. also for the LVM based VM I am able to take the live backup but for non LVM based my machines are getting suspended and not been able to take the live backup. Since my library will work on the remote machine only I might not know the VM's configruation on the KVM server. so need to make it consistent for all the VM's. Please share any thing related to this issue so that I may be able to take the live backup of the non lvm vm's also. I'll update my working and any research findings time to time to all of you.     Since our network discovery takes too long I tried to split the biggest job into two parts. The two parts use the same Perl script but have a different scope. I copied a Job (Agent) doing the following: Copied the .agnt file Copied the associated perl script The problem is that one or the other job (changes randomly) does not run. The Disco Process will fail eventually.   • Ubuntu Server Edition (Jaunty) x64 Segmentation faults in PHP mysql package

    I've been running Jaunty with Apache2, PHP & MySQL running drupal websites as well as python 2.6 and trac on the same server. I'm getting quite a few segmentation faults and suhosin warnings on my drupal websites which don't seem to be related to the amount of RAM the server has (3GB) as the trac site is running happily without issues. The issue seems to be related to PHP accessing mysql and I'm getting suhosin warnings. Has anyone else seen this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it? Funnily enough, it's not a consistent error, as restarts tend to fix the issue temporarily.
