Projects can have compiled source code, setup scripts, build scripts, third-party libraries, database scripts, resources, web services, web sites, etc. This is partly inspired by discovering Maven's standard layout. Are there any other standard layouts that are generally accepted in the industry?

  I do some technical work for an Internet Radio Show/Podcast, and need to fix something that has been broken for a while. The hosts have a Skype-In number to take listener calls, and for convenience sake, I bought and paid for a toll free number for a period of time. I used to use Asterlink for routing calls, but they folded and sent my number to OneBox, but they're ridiculously expensive by comparison. I'm looking for a cheap solution for this one simple task. Forward toll free calls to a skype-in number. The definition of cheap is as cheap or cheaper than Asterlink was. I paid something like $2 a month, and then the termination/call rate, which was a fraction of a sent for termination, and only whole cents after some serious time on the call. A $20 preload lasted me months at a time. I don't want to be upsold too, I want a simple web based management screen (CDR/stats are fun!), and obviously, it needs to be reliable. What vendors out there are you a fan of that solves this need?

Thus, it is not handled with usual http://username:[email protected] and any attempt to access the internet from this setting falls into the login form. How could I automatically login to the proxy?   How can I allow access to the foo.html files in the .com/song/private/ subfolder for: a logged-in Wordpress user; or any referral domains (including subfolders) I add; or any URL on our own domain from the com/song/private folder; For all others, the user should be redirected to the corresponding public version of the Post, which is the same html filename and structured .com/song/foo.html. (The private versions uses a different template with different custom fields for each Post.) • Windows Server 2003 Standard R2 CD 1 cannot boot: freeze at No Emulation

  Hi everyone. I've been interested in the Windows Server line of OSes, so since I apply for DreamSpark, I thought I'd go download it and try it. I just so happened to have an old desktop that I was using awhile ago for Windows XP, so I imaged the drive in preparation for it to be overwritten with the new OS. (This system has an Asus A7V8X-X motherboard, an AMD Athlon XP 2800+ processor, and 1GB of RAM.) I tried burning the first disk image on my newer desktop computer, running Windows XP, although the CD burner consistently failed at a particular track area from cd to cd, so it seemed like the burner was toast there. Fortunately, I had a laptop, so I transferred the images over to that, then burned the first disc there. First time around went great, and the burning program reported no errors. I then took the CD over to the computer that I was intending to install Server onto, set the BIOS to boot from the CD drive, then I booted it up. Like normal, after the POST, it printed "Boot from ATAPI CD-Rom: No Emulation", which I was used to seeing with bootable cds. I waited for the "Press any key to continue..." message that I had become so familiar with in windows discs, although I saw none. The computer sat there for about 5 seconds with the cd spinning, then it spun down like it was done reading it. Nothing else happened. No response from the keyboard. I tried again, same result. I then downloaded IMGBurn, and I put the burned cd into the laptop that burned it originally. I also downloaded a fresh image from the dreamspark site. I ran a verify session, and everything checked out. I later tried getting various DOS startup discs, then I tried booting the winnt binary, which supposedly initiates the installation process. Either the shells reported that not enough memory was available (since they would be running in low memory mode), or FreeDOS in particular would report Illegal instructions right away. Is the image corrupt at dreamspark, or am I doing something wrong?

  Getting the following error when attempting to install: Error attempting to create the destination file: C:\Windows Embedded Data\Repositories\{25C88912-9870-4686-97CE-8244C A1B0DAB}.CAB. System error code: 5 Code 5 looks to be an "Access denied" issue. Not sure if this is a generic Windows error, or specific to this install. Any insight is appreciated! -Tim

• Ubuntu Server Edition (Jaunty) x64 Segmentation faults in PHP mysql package

  I've been running Jaunty with Apache2, PHP & MySQL running drupal websites as well as python 2.6 and trac on the same server. I'm getting quite a few segmentation faults and suhosin warnings on my drupal websites which don't seem to be related to the amount of RAM the server has (3GB) as the trac site is running happily without issues. The issue seems to be related to PHP accessing mysql and I'm getting suhosin warnings. Has anyone else seen this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it? Funnily enough, it's not a consistent error, as restarts tend to fix the issue temporarily.

• Proper upgrade path for Windows 7 to Windows 8 when the directory setup is non-standard

  I have both a HDD and a SSD in my computer and after installing Windows I moved things around a little to ensure that the OS is on the SSD but my user profile resides on the SSD (with a few exceptions). I used junction points heavily for that. Windows and most applications are fine with that and it works well. Now I wonder whether I can in-place upgrade this to Windows 8 while retaining that exact setup or whether there is anything I can do to ease the upgrade process.

  I am running NDB mysql. the log files fills up the /var directory. therefore i cant start the ndbd service now. as a temporary fix, i have deleted the log files and again working fine. but again the log files fill up the /var directory. i got plenty of space in other partition. therefore i would like to swap the partition from one directory to /var. here if my input from df -h Filesystem Type Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00 ext3 54G 2.9G 49G 6% / /dev/cciss/c0d0p1 ext3 99M 14M 81M 14% /boot none tmpfs 1013M 0 1013M 0% /dev/shm /dev/cciss/c0d0p2 ext3 9.7G 9.7G 0 100% /var there are plenty of space in /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00.   How does one indicate that one has finished entering test in stdin? For example, let's say that I wish to encrypt 'blue' using MD5 (I know MD5 is unsecure, but just for this example). I tried user$ blue | md5 which I was led to understand is how one pipes input to stdin, but it doesn't work right. But if I just enter user$ md5 I can enter the word 'blue'. But how do I indicate to md5 that I'm finished entering text?

• ESXI with non standard hardware HDD issues

  I have 3 very underutilized servers that I am condensing to one of those shuttle PC's with VMWare ESXi The HDD seems to be the bottle neck right now (the light is almost always pure solid) right now I have a single 1TB Seagate 7200.11 connected by SATA. VMWare ESXi cannot detect it when running in AHCI mode, but does when running in IDE mode. I have read that IDE mode can give a 5% performance hit which might give me enough breathing room. However, I am open to setting up an external eSATA or some sort of raid to give me more than just the 5%. I am just weary of sinking some money into a bit of hardware without knowledge of whether it will work. Does anyone know of resources or procedures of how to get this working.

  Is there a way to stop Foxit PhantomPDF from opening a linked PDF in the browser plugin? My desired behavior is for it to open the PDF in a Foxit PhantomPDF window. I've looked for an add-in, but there is none. Foxit support recommended the following solution -- select File Preferences File Associations Advanced Uncheck Include Browser... Select OK Select Make Default PDF Viewer but it didn't make a difference. How exactly is Internet Explorer making the decision to open it in the browser plugin instead of a separate PhantomPDF window? How can I change that?

  I have a Swedish Windows 7 Home Premium on my PC, and I really want to change system language to English. I know that Home Premium can't change system language (only W7 Ultimate does that), so I consider buying an English version and make a clean install. However I do have many settings, programs etc that I don't want to lose. I therefore have two questions: Can I take a backup of my Swedish W7 Home Premium, install the English W7 Home Premium and then restore everything back to normal, except the system language is now English? Can I take a backup of my Swedish W7 Home Premium, install W7 Ultimate and then restore everything back to normal (now with the option to change system language)? Thanks!

  We currently have one physical server running the free version of VMWare ESXi that virtualizes a Win SBS 2003 server and a Citrix server. We need to collocate the server and are investigating our options. Are there places that will host our virtual servers and save us the expense of shipping the physical server out for collocation. In my mind we'd copy the Vms to disk and ship them out. Does the fact that we're using the free version of ESXi create a barrier to this idea? Thanks for the help, I realize this is a stupid question.

  I have VS 2008 Professional Edition. After the installation (which included SQL Server 2008), I decided to install SQL Server 2008 Express Edition with Advanced Tools (so I could get SQL Server Management Studio on it). So I uninstalled the SQL Express that came with VS 2008, and installed the standalone SQL Server Express 2008 version with advanced tools. However, When I try to logon onto SQL Server Management Studio using: .\SQLEXPRESS as Server name and Windows Authentication as the authentication, I get the following message: TITLE: Connect to Server ------------------------------ Cannot connect to .\SQLEXPRESS. ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. I can also understand the code & read from here and there but the thing is I want to make most of my time. Reading books are best for this. From my search I found that these two books The Design and Implementation of the 4.4 BSD Operating System "Unix Internals: The New Frontiers" by Uresh Vahalia are like established books on UNIX OS internals. But the thing is these books are pretty much outdated. yay!! Lucky me. "Unix Internals: The New Frontiers" by Uresh Vahalia 2 edition (Jan 2010) is released. I've been search for information on this book. Sadly, Amazon says "Out of Print--Limited Availability" & I couldn't find any info regarding this book. This is the information I'm looking for: Table of Contents Whats new in this edition? Where the hell can I buy soft-copy of this book? I really cannot afford buying a hardcopy. How can I contact the author? I've lot of hopes & expectations on this book. I've been waiting for its release for a long time. I've sent random mails to & & requesting to have a proper website for this book. I even contacted publisher for any further information but no replies from any one. If you have any other books that you think will help me. I again repeat, I want to get max possible out of these 2.5 months summer.
