• How to provide an own UIWindow subclass as the main window in an iPhone app?

  For inspecting all events posted to the views of the window, I want to make a subclass of UIWindow and make that -keyAndVisible in the app delegate. However, my project already came with an nasty MainWindow.xib file ;-) so I find it hard to do that now, since that nib guy is creating the window. Is there any way I can get rid of this MainWindow.xib? Or is there another way to have an subclass of UIWindow in place?

  What is the impact of creating variables using: Dim ds as New DataSet ds = GetActualData() where GetActualData() also creates a New DataSet and returns it? Does the original empty DataSet that was 'New'ed just get left in the Heap? What if this kind of code was in many places? Would that affect the ASP.NET process and cause it to recycle sooner?

• Removing table prefixes on ASP.NET MVC DataModel entities

  My database tables have prefixes on them and when the DataModel generates the EntityObjects they have the prefixes at the beginning of the class name. Is there anyway that I can have those prefixes ignored when the DataModel is updating/creating the classes?   Hi I'm using InnoSetup for creating my application installers and I set the "SetupLogging=yes" flag to always create a setup-log file in the %TEMP% directory. This works fine for the installation procedure. Unfortunately, InnoSetup will not create such a log file when I uninstall the application. Is there a flag / possibility to force InnoSetup to also create an uninstall log file?

  If in my C# application, I am creating a child process that can either terminate normally, or start misbehaving, in which case I terminate it with a call to Process.Kill().However, I would like to know if the process has exited normally.I know I can get the error code of a terminated process, but what would be a normal exit code and what would signify that the process was killed?

• Django forms "not" using forms from models

  I have a form generated from various models and the various values filled go and sit in some other table. Hence, in this case I haven't used the inbuilt Django forms(i.e. I am not creating forms from models ). Now the data which is posted from the self made form is handled by view1 which should clean the data accordingly. How do I go about it and use the various functions clean and define validation errors (and preferably not do validation logic in the view itself!)

  Hi, does Android have a "best practices" guideline on creating & populating the db/tables programmatically vs. deploying a .db file in assets? What are the pros/cons of both approaches?   When creating a libsvm training file, how do you differentiate between a nominal attribute verses a numeric attribute? I'm trying to encode certain nominal attributes as integers, but I want to ensure libsvm doesn't misinterpret them as numeric values. Unfortunately, libsvm's site seems to have very little documentation. Pentaho's docs seem to imply libsvm makes this distinction, but I'm still not clear how it's made.

• MKMapView Not Loading When Called on an NSThread?

  I am creating a MKMapView in a method named "generateMap". From inside viewDidLoad, this works: [self generateMap]; but this causes the map to quickly load and then disappear, leaving only the blank grey grid: [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(spinTheSpinner) toTarget:self withObject:nil]; Any ideas why this might be happening when I call the method through a thread?

• Using Hudson to build RPM packages.

  I've a C project set up in Hudson doing nighly builds, i've also an .rpm spec file used for creating rpms from these sources. Does anyone have any experience on how to build rpms out of all this using Hudson ? Right now the only solution I see is to set up a job running a script that checks svn exports the sources ,creates a tarball and does the whole rpm build. This doesn't seem to integrate well with Hudson - e.g. how do I collect the artifacts ?

• Multiple computers with a standard iPhone developer program

  I have enrolled on the standard iPhone Developer Program and I've successfully created a provisioning profile for my iMac. But I also have a MacBook Pro that I use to work while I'm traveling. But with the standard iPhone Developer Program there seems to be no way to have 2 computers to work, unless I spend time revoking and re-creating/re-validating certification authorities when switching machines. Am I right? Or is there some way to use the same CA across multiple machines?

• Wpf: Image Control does not support .TGA files

  In my application I am using Images, these images can be .tga(Targa Graphic) file as well, when I am creating instance of BitmapImage using .tga file, it throws exception saying "No imaging component suitable to complete this operation was found.". Is there any other way to work with .tga file in wpf? How can I use these(.tga) files just like any other .jpg(Image file) in wpf?
