• How to force Weblogic to start deployments in active state (i.e. not just prepared)

  When I start a Weblogic instance with a deployed application, the deployment is sometimes left in prepared state, not in active state. I have to go to Weblogic Console and start the deployment manually, which is quite slow and annoying repetetive work. Since this is done on a development machine — sometimes 50 times a day, — there are no security implication as the server is only visible on the local network. Is there some way to have it always start the deployment active? Note that I'm not redeploying the application, I instead have it "constantly deployed" and stop/start the Weblogic instance using the scripts in bin directory.

The final step is actually installing Wordpress, which usually involves pointing your browser to install.php and filling out a form in the GUI.   i have a dll, built with mingw one of the header files contains this: extern "C" { int get_mac_address(char * mac); //the function returns a mac address in the char * mac } I use this dll in another c++ app, built using Visual C++ (2008SP1), not managed, but plain c++ (simply include the header, and call the function) But now I have to use it in a C# application The problem is that i can't figure out how exactly (i'm new in .net programming) this is what i've tried public class Hwdinfo { [DllImport("mydll.dll")] public static extern void get_mac_address(string s); } When i call the function, nothing happens (the mydll.dll file is located in the bin folder of the c# app, and it gives me no errors or warnings whatsoever)

• Passing multiple arguments to a UNIX shell script

  I have the following (bash) shell script, that I would ideally use to kill multiple processes by name. #!/bin/bash kill `ps -A | grep $* | awk '{ print $1 }'` However, while this script works is one argument is passed: end chrome (the name of the script is end) it does not work if more than one argument is passed: $end chrome firefox grep: firefox: No such file or directory What is going on here? I thought the $* passes multiple arguments to the shell script in sequence. I'm not mistyping anything in my input - and I the programs I want to kill (chrome and firefox) are open. Any help is appreciated.

Unable to find the requested .Net Framework data provider" For instance, i've installed it , but i've also uninstalled old version, then installed new versions. In my project i simple copy Mysql dll into "bin" folder, then add a reference to that dll. I'm not sure is the corrected way... I need to have the "refreshed schema" to permit vs.net to build automatically my listview ... if i can't to "auto build" listview, i have to write all code by hand, and it is a too expensive work me :( What i'm wrong ? • ImageMagick and Grails not working

  I'm trying to have ImageMagick run from grails to convert some images when I run the command to make an image nothing happens. I get no errors, no information returned nothing at all. I've tried running other commands like touch and ps ux just to see if they work and they all work fine. It just seems like the imagemagick commands are getting lost and I''m not sure what to do. Here is the code I've been working with. String command = CH.config.ImageMagickPath + "/convert -size 40x20 xc:red xc:blue -append -rotate 90 append_rotate.gif" println command command.execute() CH.config.ImageMagickPath is set up to where imagemagick/bin is. I've taken what is shown in println command and run it in a terminal and it works fine. Is there any reason why I can't get IM to work from grails?

  I want to divide business layer (BLL) of an asp.net application into multiple components. Each component is a .NET class library which is compiled as a standalone DLL. These components should have their own configuration files. For example "MyNameSpace.Users.dll" contains classes about users of the website and there's a password policy to check if password length is at least x characters. When webmaster edits the config file of this DLL and set x to y then component (DLL) should use new value (y) in the future and enforce passwords to be at least y characters. I want each component as a single project and compile them separaely (and not to put all projects in a solution in Visual Studio), and put the DLLs of these libraries into the "Bin" folder of my ASP.NET application. Is it possible ? Where should I put these config files ?

• Determing Python version at runtime

  The problem I'm having is that I've written code that depends on features in python2.6 so I'm trying to build a check that will produce a useful error if someone tries to run it on a machine with python lower than 2.6. The code I put in to check for the specific version and match it should work fine but the problem I have is the interpreter on a 2.4 machine reads the file and sees a "finally" at the end of my try loop and errors out before it gets far enough into execution for my if statement to handle the version mismatch. Other than changing the magic line to specifically look for /usr/bin/python2.6 is there a way python can handle this sort of thing?

  I have a bash script that gets some input as stdin. After processing, I copy a file using "-i" (interactive). However, this never gets executed since (I guess) standard input has not been flushed. Also it matches my question better since I said "random file". Honsetly though, these days it's hard to imagine a Unix system deployed out there having GNU installed but not Perl 5.

It looks as though the Mbox::StringIO should have been defined by hasn't been. What's going wrong here? Ruby version: ruby 1.8.7 (2009-06-12 patchlevel 174) [universal-darwin10.0] (That's the default ruby installed on OS X 10.6.6)

I want to permanently increase the heap space for my tomcat apps. I read this page http://javahowto.blogspot.com/2006/06/6-common-errors-in-setting-java-heap.html and it says under the Tomcat section Stop Tomcat server, set environment variable CATALINA_OPTS, and then restart Tomcat. Look at the file tomcat-install/bin/catalina.sh or catalina.bat for how this variable is used. For example, set CATALINA_OPTS=-Xms512m -Xmx512m (Windows, no "" around the value) export CATALINA_OPTS="-Xms512m -Xmx512m" (ksh/bash, "" around the value) setenv CATALINA_OPTS "-Xms512m -Xmx512m" (tcsh/csh, "" around the value) So I replaced the line set CATALINA_OPTS= with set CATALINA_OPTS=-Xms512m -Xmx512m But I still get the error.

• Using MSpec runner in Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4

  Hi Everyone, I'm a big fan of MSpec so naturally I wanted to use is right away with VS2010 as well. I have the MSpec runner defined as an external tool in Visual Studio to be able to have it always visible as a toolbar item. Anyway, whenever I try to use the MSpec runner (mspec.exe) with a .NET 4.0 solution I get the following error: Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Users\[SOMEUSER]\[SOME_FOLDERS}\bin\Debug\[PROJECT].Specs.dll' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded. I can still run my specs with the Resharper 5 runner so it's no big drama, but I bothers me to no end :þ Do you guys have any idea what the problem could be? Is there any solution other than recompiling the whole Mspec source code as a .NET 4.0 solution, which I really, really don't want to do? Thanks in advance. Sergi
