• Passing an array of structures to an Oracle stored procedure (CFMX)

  I'm looking to write a Oracle stored procedure where I would pass in (from ColdFusion) an array of structures and loop over each iteration to insert the bits and pieces within the structures to the DB., I haven't written this type of procedure / package before. I am planning to do an sp / package similar to what is sketched out in the second reply to this thread: How to pass a array of object to oracle stored procedure Assuming I do, how can I call the procedure from ColdFusion (I'm using MX) and pass in my array? As far as I can see, none of the CF_SQL_Types make sense.

• Threading and iterating through changing collections

  In C# (console app) I want to hold a collection of objects. All objects are of same type. I want to iterate through the collection calling a method on each object. And then repeat the process continuously. However during iteration objects can be added or removed from the list. (The objects themselves will not be destroyed .. just removed from the list). Not sure what would happen with a foreach loop .. or other similar method. This has to have been done 1000 times before .. can you recommend a solid approach?

• Is there away to load a page only once with AJAX?

  I have an AJAX call to load a function once the page is loaded, the function opens a lightbox a like frame with some data. The issue is that if I click on close (lightbox frame), the page loads again and again loading the frame so the use never reaches the page under the layer of frame since the frame load on infinite loop.   I want to do permutation in Perl. For example I have three arrays: ["big", "tiny", "small"] and then I have ["red", "yellow", "green"] and also ["apple", "pear", "banana"]. How do I get: ["big", "red", "apple"] ["big", "red", "pear"] ..etc.. ["small", "green", "banana"] I understand this is called permutation. But I am not sure how to do it. Also I don't know how many arrays I can have. There may be three or four, so I don't want to do nested loop.

  Hey all, I'm pretty new to Javascript, so forgive me if this is a simple question. I'm trying to access the length of a set of checkboxes in a form using Javascript. However, I need to be able to change the "name" field of the checkboxes to check several different sets of them. Right now, my sample code looks like: var set = "set" + x; totalLength = optionBoxes.set.length; The variable x is being incremented by a for loop that wraps the whole thing and the name of the checkbox sets that I'm trying to access are set0, set1, set2, etc. Thanks. • an array of strings as a jQuery selector?

  I have an array of strings that are valid jQuery selectors (i.e. IDs of elements on the page): ["#p1", "#p2", "#p3", "#p4", "#p5"] I want to select elements with those IDs into a jQuery array. This is probably elementary, but I can't find anything online. I could have a for-loop which creates a string "#p1,#p2,#p3,#p4,#p5" which could then be passed to jQuery as a single selector, but isn't there another way? Isn't there a way to pass an array of strings as a selector? EDIT: Actually, there is an answer out there already.

  Is it possible to echo something while the script for example is still running in a loop? my problem: I ask the server with Ajax and then the server is fetching mails and store them in Database. This took around 15 sec. During that Time the Server should echo his progress so that the Javascript can update a loading bar. This is working with a php script without CodeIgniter well. Is there a way to skip the output class and all that stuff to get a direct echo? Thanks

I have a Database (SQL Server) with table named 'ProcessData' and columns named 'Process_Name' (Data Type: nvarchar(50)), 'Start_At' (DataType: DateTime) and 'End_At' (Data Type: DateTime). I need to know for each 'Time-Interval' (let's say 1 minute) how many processes (Process_Name = PN) was open (after or equal to the 'Start_at' column and before or equal to the 'End_At' column) during this time (It can be a few rows with the same data). Does anyone know how to make this query without a 'for' loop? (It ITSELF will promote the time), (The answer will be a table with two columns (1.   Hi, I am developing on Android but the question might be just as valid on any other Java platform. I have developed a multi-threaded app. Lets say I have a first class that needs to do a time-intensive task, thus this work is done in another Thread. When it's done that same Thread will return the time-intensive task result to another (3rd) class. This last class will do something and return it's result to the first-starting class. I have noticed though that the first class will be waiting the whole time, maybe because this is some kind of loop ? Also I'd like the Thread-class to stop itself, as in when it has passed it's result to the third class it should simply stop. The third class has to do it's work without being "incapsulated" in the second class (the Thread one). Anyone knows how to accomplish this ? right now the experience is that the first one seems to be waiting (hanging) till the second and the third one are done :(

  I have an arraylist of VOs. These objects have many properties and corresponding get/set methods. I want to sort this array list based on a property which I'll be getting in runtime. Let me explain in detail. My VO is like this public class Employee { String name; String id; private String getName() { return name; } private String getId() { return id; } } I will be getting a string ‘sort’ in runtime, which can be either ‘id’ of ‘name’. I want to sort the list based on the value of the string. I have tried to use comparator and reflection together, but no luck. I don’t want to use an if loop and create new comparator classes.   Assume I have a cooperative scheduler in an embedded environment. I have many processes running. I want to utilize the watchdog timer so that I can detect when a process has stopped behaving for any reason and reset the processor. In simpler applications with no RTOS I would always touch the watchdog from the main loop and this was always adequate. However, here, there are many processes that could potentially hang. What is a clean method to touch the watchdog timer periodically while ensuring that each process is in good health? I was thinking that I could provide a callback function to each process so that it could let another function, which oversees all, know it is still alive. The callback would pass a parameter which would be the tasks unique id so the overseer could determine who was calling back.

  I have a trigger function that I only want to fire on certain instances of INSERTS, in this case, if do_backup = true. If it fires in all instances, I get an infinite loop. The logic seems pretty simple to me, and the rest of the function works. But the trigger function does not seem to register my conditional and always runs, even when backup = true.   I am trying to programmatically create and bind a table of accelerators in wxPython in a loop so that I don't need to worry about getting and assigning new IDs to each accelerators (and with a view to inhaling the handler list from some external resource, rather than hard-coding them). I also pass in some arguments to the handler via a lambda since a lot of my handlers will be the same but with different parameters (move, zoom, etc). Is there any elegant way how to solve this? Of course I can use for loop, but maybe there's something nicer :)

  hi, so I have this simple for loop to echo an array: for ($i = 0; $i < count($director); $i++) { echo '<a href="person.php?id='.$director[$i]["id"].'">'.$director[$i]["name"].'</a>'; } The problem here is that when more than one element is in the array then I get everything echoed without any space between. I want to separate each element with a comma except the last one. I cant use 'implode' so I'm looking for another solution... Anyone?

• C# - Listing class properties like Immediate window

  Hi, I store a few classes in session. I want to be able to see the values of my class properties in trace viewer. By default I only the Type name MyNamespace.MyClass. I was wondering if I overwrite the .ToString() method and use reflection to loop over all the properties and construct a string like that ... it would do the trick but just wanted to see if there is anything already out there (specially since Immediate Window has this capability) which does the same ... i.e. list the class property values in trace instead of just the Name of the class. • In Python, is there a way to call a method on every item of an iterable? [closed]

  Possible Duplicate: Is there a map without result in python? I often come to a situation in my programs when I want to quickly/efficiently call an in-place method on each of the items contained by an iterable. (Quickly meaning the overhead of a for loop is unacceptable). A good example would be a list of sprites when I want to call draw() on each of the Sprite objects. I know I can do something like this: [sprite.draw() for sprite in sprite_list] But I feel like the list comprehension is misused since I'm not using the returned list. The same goes for the map function. Stone me for premature optimization, but I also don't want the overhead of the return value. What I want to know is if there's a method in Python that lets me do what I just explained, perhaps like the hypothetical function I suggest below: do_all(sprite_list, draw)

• Putting li's into rows

  I have a long list of li's. <ul> <li> <img src="test.jpg"> </li> <li> <img src="test.jpg"> </li> //etc Each li has this styling: width: 10%; display: inline-block; vertical-align: middle; When I get to more than 10 li's in a row, they go on to the next row. Is this the correct way to do it? or should I wrap each 10 li's into something that breaks the line? What the best/correct method? i intialy chose this method as it would be easily to loop out data from a database.
