  Hi, I have a custom Control which contains the generic.xaml inside the Themes folder. I have set the build action to Resource.   I have asp.net textbox with MaskedEditExtender. • Why does IE8 change flash callback function into object?

  Hi Guys I have put 2 swf's (using swfobject 2) on the same website; One for playing a movie, and one for controlling the movie (I want to position them seperately, so they can't be in the same swf). I'm doing the communication between the two using javascript with jQuery, and externalcallback functions in both swf's. Everything is running smoothly on all browsers, but IE8. In IE8 I can only call the pause callback function in the control swf once. When it has been called it will not run properly the next time. After trying to debug what is happening live, using javascript's "type of" I have found that IE8 changes the callback function on the flash object from a function into an object when it has been triggered. Can anyone explain why this is happening? .. and maybe suggest how to avoid this? .. or change the object back to a function?

  What is the easiest way to align a div whose position is relative horizontally and vertically using CSS ? The width and the height of the div is unknown, i.e. it should work for every div dimension and in all major browsers. I mean center alignment. I thought to make the horizontal alignment using: margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; like I did here. Is this a good cross browser solution for horizontal alignment ? How could I do the vertical alignment ?

  hi, I'm trying to figure out what i'm doing wrong but i just don't get it. Here is what i want to do: I want to draw a circle somewhere on the screen of the iphone and then i want the circle always to be displayed at the position where the user currently taps on the screen. I started by creating a subclass of UIView and adding the following lines into the "drawRect" method: - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { //Create the main view! • CSS3PIE: Internet Explorer 6 doesn't download PIE.htc

  I'm using the very impressive CSS3PIE (http://css3pie.com) library to add support for CSS3 styles in IE6-8. It works fine in versions 7 and 8 and took a lot of pain out of the process. However, in IE6 no CSS3 styles are shown at all. In fact, looking at the server logs, I can see that IE6 doesn't even download the PIE.htc file, which is necessary for the magic to work. The content type for the file is set correctly as text/x-component, it's referenced by absolute URL, and works fine in IE7 and 8. I'm using Compass (www.compass-style.org) and the PIE helper which makes the CSS look like this: #shopping_cart { behavior: url("/media/static/css/PIE.htc"); position: relative; border-radius: 10px; } I can't figure out what the problem is. Does anyone have any ideas what might cause IE6 to skip the behavior definition altogether? Cheers, Jonas

  hi, I have methods which return interface and some methods which accepts interface as parameters. I am trying to use Net DataContractSerializer but I am getting following error... The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter http://tempuri.org/:id. The InnerException message was 'Error in line 1 position 120. XML 'Element' 'http://tempuri.org/:id' does not contain expected attribute 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/:Type'. The deserializer has no knowledge of which type to deserialize. Check that the type being serialized has the same contract as the type being deserialized.'. Please see InnerException for more details. Please help me how to resolve this error.... If I use Netdatacontract attribute on Operation Contract, can i use DataContract and Datamember attribute on serializable class??? Thanks in advance...

• javascript/jquery input fields cleanup

  I've created a few input fields, that I am cleaning up as the user types. So, I'm using a keystroke detection event, like .keyup() It's all working very well, but I do notice one thing that's rather annoying for the users. While the script is cleaning the data as they type, their cursor is being sent to the end of the input field. So, if you want to edit the middle of the value, you're cursor immediately goes to the end of the box. Does anyone know of a way to maintain the cursor's current position inside the input field? I'm not holding my breath, but I thought I'd ask. • Is there a way to pause a CABasicAnimation?

  I have a basic spinning animation of the iPhone. Is there any way that I can "pause" the animation so that the position of the view will be maintained? I guess one way of doing this would be to cause the animation to "complete" instead of calling "remove" on it, how would I do that? • Modal View Controller with keyboard on landscape iPad changes location when dismissed

  I present a modal view controller on my on my iPad with UIModalPresentationFormSheet presentation style and UIModalTransitionStyleCoverVertical transition style. The Modal View Controller contains a UIWebView with some TextFields on it. When the user taps one of the text fields the keyboard comes up. I have noticed that in landscape mode after the keyboard is shown, if I try to dismiss the modal view controller with animation the view changes its position from the center of the screen to the left side just before the animation starts.. This happens only if the keyboard is up and only in landscape mode on the iPad. If the user closes the modal view without pressing on any text field this doesn't happen. Anyone familiar with this strange behavior?

• How can I stop sorl thumbnail from breaking with very long filenames?

  I've noticed that when working with SORL thumbnail, sometimes a user will upload an image with a very long filename, longer than the varfield in the database can hold. The name gets truncated in the database and the project gives errors whenever the image is requested. Is there a smart and safe way to have django automatically truncate long filenames in sorl uploads (prior to saving them in the database) to prevent this sort of thing? • Adding scrollbars to UserControl

  I am trying to add vertical and horizontal scrollbars to my UserControl with the HorizontalScroll and VerticalScroll properties, but I am having extreme issues. My problem arises when I drag or manipulate the scroll box on the bar. When I let it go, it simply jumps back to the start position! I know of the AutoScroll property, but I do not want to use it since I want to be able to control every aspect of my scrollbars, and I don't want it to be done automatically. Also, according to the documentation, AutoScroll is for "[enabling] the user to scroll to any controls placed outside of its visible boundaries" which isn't what I want. I just want scrollbars. ...aaand I suppose I could add VScrollBar and HScrollBar to the control, but why should I do this when the scroll functionality already exists? Seems like a waste to me.

  I have three menus on this test web site. I am learning css and trying all the menus inherit all properties from menu class. The second one looks different and is not clickable. I am happy with the 3rd one, just want to make it horizontal and change its position bit. Could somebody tell me why the second menu is not click-able? how I can make the third menu vertical? I thought that display: block; for li of the 3rd menu would do the trick but I do not know the css path for that li.

• How to fix slow scrolling when using webkit-transform and relative positioning on the iphone

  I have implemented scrolling of a div by using relative positioning and webkit animation for the iphone, it works beautifully on desktop safari but is choppy on the actual iphone (fine on the simulator). The scrolling works by having a div nested and clipped (overflow:hidden) by its parent. I then set the top position and animate it with -webkit style declarations. The iphone seems to noticeably slow down when there are a lot of items in the inner div. Any ideas how make the scrolling smoother? This was a problem with iScroll code and my own hand coded stuff.

  I am having an issue with an XPath query I'm performing for a Sitecore CMS system. This query works fine: /root/content/Meta-Data/Tips/* But when I try this: /root/content/Meta-Data/Tips/*[@SomeAttribute='somekey'] I get an error which says "End of string expected at position 22" which is where the dash character is found. I was under the impression that the dash was not a special character in XML... am I doing something wrong here? Do I need to encode this in some way? Or is this a bug in the XPath parser? Any suggested workarounds?

  I have a JTable filled with data of a table of my database (so I used ResultSetTableModel) and using TableRowSorter to sort the rows, as I click in one column of the JTable. The data is displayed in the jTable without problems; But when I sort the JTable by some column table (for example, sorting it by the primary key value), and edit some cell from the sorted jTable, the value changed is the old cell that were in that position before the ordenation of the column. For example: Suppose I have a table with 2 columns - name and age. My table has the following data: c 1 b 2 a 3 when I order i by name in the JTable, it becomes like this a 3 b 2 c 1 if I edit the value "1", after the edition, the table becomes like this a 1 b 2 c 1 It seems that the positions are not being updated in the JTable, and the values are edited considering their original positions.

  heyy there i want to parse a text,let's name it 'post', and 'urlize' some strings if they contain a particular character, in a particular position. my 'pseudocode' trial would look like that: def urlize(post) for string in post if string icontains ('#') url=(r'^searchn/$', searchn, name='news_searchn'), then apply url to the string return urlize(post) i want the function to return to me the post with the urlized strings, where necessary (just like twitter does). i don't understand: how can i parse a text, and search for certain strings? is there ok to make a function especially for 'urlizing' some strings? The function should return the entire post, no matter if it has such kind of strings. is there another way Django offers? Thank you

• GUI freezes when executing def function. Use threads?

  Hi, I've made a small program which has 2 buttons and each does certain thing. Here's a simplified version of the code. Thing is it works fine except that the button freezes and stays in a clicked position and whole GUI freezes until the command is completed. As far as I know threads would be best to use in this situation, but I have no idea how to implement it in this example.
