• FOP Encoding issue

  Hi Guys, I have a similar issue.. I have HTML stored in DB clob. I am retrieving that and converting to XHTML using TIDY.jar. Once i got XHTML then using FOP i am converting to XSL-FO. Finally XSL-FO is rendering in PDF. Previously everything is working fine with Linux-WAS5-java1.4. Recently we migrated the apps to Linux-WAS6-Java1.5. Now XHTML to XSL-FO is messing up everything. XSL-FO contains ???(Question marks) in the place of Euro, spase(nbsp), Agrave, egrave ..etc. I tried changing the JVM encoding to UTF-8 and also i have modified my servlet request and response to support UTF-8. I am helfless and unable to figure where exactly the issue is coming out. Can someone please check this and suggest me some solution. Thanks in advance

• Export GridView to TXT, then upload file to server

  Basically what I want to do is export an array (or GridView) to a file called "getpathin.dat". That is easy, but the method I am using downloads the file to my computer, which is what I don't want. I want to write an array to either a PRE-EXISTING file that is on the server OR create a new file on the server in a folder, and this new file will contain either the array or the gridview, which I have stored in the array. i'll be doing this in... • Loading tables dynamically with NHibernate

  I'm working on a project that requires me to load tables based on table names stored in another table. More tables will be added to the DB (and by someone else), so creating NHibernate mapping files for each table isn't an option. Does anyone know if it is possible to load tables dynamically using NHibernate? Edit: I should add that I'm on .NET 2.0, so I can't use Fluent NHibernate. Thanks for the suggestion though guys. I will use that as evidence in convincing my associates to upgrade.

• Erlang bit indexing

  I am currently trying to learn erlang and what I am trying to do is to perform an operation on specific indices of an array stored in a bit array or int. If there is a 0 in a position, the index into the array at that position is not used. So envision the following: Example the array is: [1, 3, 5, 42, 23] My bit array is: 21 = 10101 in binary so I'm using indicies 1,3,5 so I'm calling a function on [1, 5, 23] my function is of the form my_function(Array, BitArray) -> SubArray = get_subarray_from_bitarray(Array, BitArray), process_subarray(SubArray). And I need help with the get_subarray_from_bitarray(). I know erlang has special syntax around bit strings (something like <<) so is there an efficient way of indexing into the bit array to get the indicies?

• Is it possible to convert Gregorian to Hijri date in Vb ?

  Hi, I have a table in sql where the date format is stored in Hijri. Now I am working on a vb.net application where I have to let the user update that dateField. So is it possible that if I place a datepicker(which is in Gregorian) and user selects the date and its converts into Hijri date before updating. I mean when the user selects the date and clicks the save button the date should be updated in hijri format in the sql . For now , the user is entering the date manually on a tms AdvEdit. Is there any code available to accomplish this task. Thanking you all in advance for your time and consideration.

• flex checkbox value not selected from database

  Hi, I have a small flex datagrid. The dataProvider is an xmlList. I have two columns, userList and user permissions. The user permissions column as checkboxes. The values for the checkbox are stored as 0 and 1 in mySQL. While returning it from PHP, I am converting them to true or false. Its returning the values correctly to the frontend. But inside the itemrenderer, the checkbox is not being set to true or false. Either everything is true or everything is false. • Track/Display Array Index As Part Of Cout (C++)

  Hi, I have a command line C++ program that lets you enter basic information about a person (ID number, name, age, etc.) and I want to output to a console in the following manner: ------------------------------------------------------------------- Index ID # First Name Last Name Age ------------------------------------------------------------------- 0 1234 John Smith 25 The person objects are stored in an array of Persons and I've overload the ostream (<<) operator to print out all of the fields like you see. The dashed lines and header come from a displayHdg() function. Anyhow, I have not been able to figure out how to get the proper index value for the array. Ideally, I'd like to generate the indices for each line, but all my attempts have failed. The array is looped through and each object printed in the main() function, and the ostream is overloaded in a person class, so I tried to use global variables as well as static variables, and all of those produce incorrect numbering (i.e. show 0, 1 the first time (for 2 objects), then change to 1, 2 on the next display). Any ideas?

• Using Google Weather API with Lat and Lon - how to format?

  I am wanting to use the Google Weather API - by passing lat and long values. However it seems Google is needing these formatted differently to the values I have stored. i.e. For the town of McTavish I have values of 45.5 and -73.583 This works here: http://api.wunderground.com/auto/wui/geo/WXCurrentObXML/index.xml?query=45.5,-73.583 But when I use Google it does not: See: www.google.com/ig/api?weather=,,,45.5,-73.583 Any help appreciated. I would prefer to use the Google Data.

• Can jQuery animate() behave differently for specific elements within my selection?

  I have a selection of elements in a jQuery object. I want to animate their font sizes, but as I have both the headlines and various paragraphs in the selection, they should be animated slightly differently, as the headlines should end up with a larger font size than the paragraphs. I already have this information stored in the jQuery data cache. I can do that. But, not unless I use several calls to the animate function, one for each specific, slightly different animation, perhaps using event triggering or setTimeout() calls. Of course I want to avoid this, as it's damn ugly and an odd way around. Much prettier if it could be done internally, within the animation ... Any help would be much appreciated.

  I've just followed this example from Wordpress and I have successfully added an extra Meta Box in Post interface, and the value is stored in DB. Now my question is, how can I retrieve and display the content of this meta box? I'm trying the following code: $intro = get_post_meta($post->ID, 'post_intro', true); echo $intro; But I get nada. What am I doing wrong? And while I'm here, does anybody know if I can place this extra meta box above the default text box in Wordpress post page?

• Automatic logout in python web app

  I have a web application in python wherein the user submits their email and password. These values are compared to values stored in a mysql database. If successful, the script generates a session id, stores it next to the email in the database and sets a cookie with the session id, with allows the user to interact with other parts of the sight. When the user clicks logout, the script erases the session id from the database and deletes the cookie. The cookie expires after 5 hours. My concern is that if the user doesnt log out, and the cookie expires, the script will force him to login, but if he has copied the session id from before, it can still be validated. How do i automatically delete the session id from the mysql database after 5 hours?

  I've huge a table (a few billion rows) with a clustered index and two non-clustered indices. A BULK INSERT operation produces 112000 reads and only 383 writes (duration 19948ms). It's very confusing to me. Why do reads exceed writes? • amazon design doubt

  I was looking at the amazon website and was wondering how one of the feature would have been implemented. The feature : what customers buy after viewing a particular item. If i were to develop such a feature i would probably generate a session id for each user session and store the session id-page id combination in a log file. and if a book is bought set a separate flag for the session id-page id. A separate program can then be run on the log file periodically, to identify the groups that were bought together/viewed together and that information can be stored in a persistent file. This is ofcourse a simple solution without taking into consideration the distributed nature of the servers - but would this suffice or can you help me identify a better design.

This is basically an CRUD operation, so it doesn't really make sense to create repository/entity/command/event for this since this doesn't tie to any business rules at all. The only benefit to create a CQRS command is that this database write can happen asynchronously under that model. Which is a better route to take? Use CQRS, and then call a stored proc. when handling that command? Just call database directly in the controller (I am using asp.net mvc)

• How to bind a control to a singleton in Cocoa?

  I have a singleton in my FTP app designed to store all of the types of servers that the app can handle, such as FTP or Amazon S3. These types are plugins which are located in the app bundle. Their path is located by applicationWillFinishLoading: and sent to the addServerType: method inside the singleton to be loaded and stored in an NSMutableDictionary. My question is this: How do I bind an NSDictionaryController to the dictionary inside the singleton instance? Can it be done in IB, or do I have to do it in code? • How do browsers/PHP handle characters outside the set characterset?

  I'm looking into how characters are handled that are outside of the set characterset for a page. In this case the page is set to iso-8859-1, and the previous programmer decided to escape input using htmlentities($string,ENT_COMPAT). This is then stored into Latin1 tables in Mysql. As the table is set to the same character set as the page, I am wondering if that htmlentities step is needed. I did some experiments on http://floris.workingweb.nl/experiments/characters.php and it seems that for stuff inside Latin1 some characters are escaped, but for example with a Czech name they are not. Is this because those characters are outside of Latin1? If so, then the htmlentities can be removed, as it doesn't help for stuff outside of Latin1 anyway, and for within Latin1 it is not needed as far as I can see now...

• Image Data via Ajax - how can I display the image on the Page

  I am creating a Domino Document via AJAX that contains a photo. I am able to get the base64 image data back to the server in a Notes Domino Document. Data is stored in a Richtext (textarea) field as "data:image/jpeg;base64,/9j/4AAQSkZJRgABAQAAAQABAAD/2wBDAFA..........." - (this goes on for several lines) I am trying to display on the Domino Webpage using passthru tag <<image id= "pic1" >> in the onLoad event of the Form i try to shove the data into the image element using this code: //Photo Stuff alert(document.forms[0].photo1.value); document.getElementById("pic1").src = document.forms[0].photo1.value; The alert is showing the data.   Hi all: I am working on a script, that needs to be run in many different SQL servers. Some of them, shared the same structure, in other words, they are identical, but the filegroups and the DB names are different. This is because is one per client. Anyway, I would like when running a script, If I chose the wrong DB, it should not be executed. I am trying to mantain a clean DB. here is my example, which only works for dropping a view if exists, but does not work for creating a new one. I also wonder how it would be for creating a stored procedure.   I have a situation where our developers extended a Third party database (MS SQL) by adding tables, views, stored procedures, and functions. Recently when the vender issued updates to the database they dropped all of our custom objects. The question now is what are some best practices that will allow us to extend the third party database but keep our objects safe from future updates? My first thought is to create a separate database but then I’m stuck with fully qualifying all the references back to the original database which may cause issues promoting database changes from test to production.

Select Cast((DistanceAsMeters * 0.001) as Decimal(8,1)) DistanceAsKm, bold_id, created, fromAddress, toAddress From AddrDistance Where DistanceAsMeters = 0 and PseudoDistanceAsCostKm = 0 and not AddrDistance.bold_id in (select bold_id from DistanceQueryTask) Order By Created Desc This SQL is working and the result is: DistanceAsKM Bold_ID Created FromAddress ToAddress 0 134808 16.02.2010 121795 134570 0 121701 10.03.2010 120850 122991 The result I want is this: DistanceAsKM Bold_ID Created FromAddress ToAddress 0 134808 16.02.2010 Kalmar Stockholm 0 121701 10.03.2010 Falkenberg Oslo So the amount of rows is right but I want to replace the numbers in FromAddress and ToAddress with strings from another table. The numbers shows here is just the boldid. Every object in the database have an unique boldid. The addresses above is stored in table Address and it have a City field with the column and a boldid as a key. What should I write in SQL to get this right ? Is there something in the CxGrid that could help here ? Regards

• Can't get NSDate to work correctly

  Hello, having a strange issue, must be something I'm just not seeing. I set up a variable in the .h NSDate *checkIn; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSDate *checkIn; I'm setting a variable to todays date in the initWithNibName: checkIn = [NSDate date]; I also did synthesized it as well. Now later on in my program I use it to build a tablecell with the following line cell.textLabel.text = [dateFormatter stringFromDate:checkIn]; This line kills the simulator, BAD_EXEC. If I put in a checkIn = [NSDate date]; above it, it works fine. So I'm thinking the variable isn't being stored from when I set it in the initWithNibName: Not sure why though, as my strings I do the same way are all working fine from method to method. What am I missing?

A website about foo." Much later, my site can post other updates to the users wall using the stored authorization from step 3.   I know that table sources need a data source to hold the data that the tableview will display. Lets' say that I'm going to make my AppController be the data source of my tableview and that I make the connection in interface builder. My question is since my actual data is going to be stored in an array,let's call it myArray, when I set the data source in code should I do this [tableView setDataSource:myArray]; or this [tableView setDataSource:self]; I'm confused about this. setting the data source with the keyword "self" would set it to the AppController if I'm not mistaken.

• open encrypted file with php

  Hi, I'm looking for a way to open encrypted files that are stored on a server. I'm using mcrypt to encrypt the files. I was initially going to create a class that would open the file, decrypt it, write it to a new location, then open that. But I have convinced myself there is a better way (I just don't know what it is). It seems like there should be a way to stream it (?) to the browser once it's decrypted. The initial setup would just link to the file location and the browser would take over (e.g. .pdf files would bring up a dialogue offering to open or save the file). If possible, I'd like it to do the same after decoding. Pointers? Advice? Bueller? Thanks!
