• SVN - ignoring files already in repository

  I have a configuration file in my project which needs to be in the repository (so new developers get it when they checkout the project). Each developer might change some values in the file locally - these changes should not be committed and I don't want them showing in the synchronization menu (I'm using eclipse and subversive if it matters). Note that I can't just set the svn:ignore property since it only works on files that aren't under version control - but I do want to keep a base version of the file in the repository. How can I avoid the file showing in synchronization without deleting it from repository? EDIT: A better description - what I actually need is to be able to set a "read-only" property on the config file, so it can't be changed in the repository as long as the property is on. Do you know anything like this? Thanks

• Which event to catch for application shut down?

  I am using jQueryMobile and phoneGap for a cross-device mobile application. I use html 5 local storage to persist records that worked on by user. I don't know which phoneGap event to catch just before application shut-down so I can make sure data is saved before shutdown completes. Base on suggestion from naughtur, I tried both unload and beforeunload events, neither of them got fired during app shutdown. • Package soap_api with several layer tag hierarchy

  Hello, I've seen in this topic (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/37586/consuming-web-services-from-oracle-pl-sql) that it's possible to modify the soap_api package from oracle (http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/9i/ConsumingWebServices9i.php) to :"extended the SOAP_API package to allow the client code to arbitrarily insert an extra tag. So you can insert a sub-level such as , continue to build the request, and remember to insert a closing tag". I'm interrested for this application. Do you know if this package exists ? • Which tool can list writing access to a specific variable in C?

  Unfortunately I'm not even sure how this sort of static analysis is called. It's not really control flow analysis because I'm not looking for function calls and I don't really need data flow analysis because I don't care about the actual values. I just need a tool that lists the locations (file, function) where writing access to a specific variable takes place. I don't even care if that list contained lines that are unreachable. I could imagine that writing a simple parser could suffice for this task but I'm certain that there must be a tool out there that does this simple analysis. As a poor student I would appreciate free or better yet open source tools and if someone could tell me how this type of static analysis is actually called, I would be equally grateful! EDIT: I forgot to mention there's no pointer arithmetic in the code base.

I want to have some control over the resulting seam vertex insertion, so looking to write myself rather than use a library. Has anyone come across some open source code to base the algorithm on / ideas on the process? Initial impressions are: 1. • How to return relationships in a custom un-typed dataservice provider

  I have a custom .Net DataService and can't figure out how to return the data for relationships. The data base has 2 tables (Customer, Address). A Customer can have multiple addresses, but each address can only have on customer. I'm using Dictionary<string,object> as my data type. My question, for the following 2 urls how do i return the data. http://localhost/DataService/Customer(1)/Address http://localhost/DataService/Address(1)/Customer For the none relational queries I return a List<Dictionary<string,object>> So I imagined for the relation I should just populate the element with a either a Dictionary<string,object> for the single ones and a List<Dictionary<string,object>> for many relationships. But this just gives me a NullRefferenceException So what am I doing wrong?

• How to create GUI as inner class with WindowBuilder

  I would like to use WindowBuilder in Eclipse to construct Swing GUIs. The JPanels I need to build will be inner classes in a non-GUI wrapper, like so: public class MyWrapper extends MyBaseClass { ... class MyPanel extends JPanel { ... } } So my question is this: can I construct MyPanel using WindowBuilder? If so, how should I set it up? If anyone is interested, the wrapper is an abstract base class which the plug-ins I am developing for my app must extend; deployment concerns mean that it's not really practical to put the GUIs in a separate JAR either so I pretty much have to do it this way. My current workflow, which is awful, is to build the GUI in NetBeans and paste the entire generated class into Eclipse where I connect it up to the methods in my wrapper. I am very hopeful that WindowBuilder will let me work more reliably and efficiently if I can trick it into generating code in MyPanel, not MyWrapper. Thanks

  Lua's tonumber function is nice but can only convert unsigned integers unless they are base 10. I have a situation where I have numbers like 01.4C that I would like to convert to decimal.   Base on the documentation and sample code that I have gone through, I got an impression that when a class defined in xcode is read into and configured in Interface Builder, an object based on the class is effectively created and stored in an xib or nib file. So the object is ready to be used when the corresponding application is launched. Alternatively, for classes that have not been handled by Interface Builder, code such as the "new" statements have to be written in xcode explicitly in order for the associated objects to be created and used. It will be very nice to have people who are more knowledgable than me to confirm or to correct my very naive understanding of Interface Builder ...

So I get the following setup: http://domain.com/portfolio/item1/ but what I want is for the taxonomy links to look like this: http://domain.com/portfolio/type/web and then this will show a list of portfolio items related to the that type. At the moment they are root like http://domain.com/type/web I have tried add portfolio/type as the taxonomy slug but it just creates a 404 but i'm pretty sure this is the wrong way of doing it anyways.   We have some Well-Attributed DB code, like so: [Display(Name = "Phone Number")] public string Phone { get; set; } Since it is quite generic we'd like to use it again, but with a different string in the Name part of the attribute. Since it's an attribute it seems to want things to be const, so we tried: const string AddressType = "Student "; [Display(Name = AddressType + "Phone Number")] public string Phone { get; set; } This seems to work alright, except that having a const string means we can't overwrite it in any base classes, thereby removing the functionality that we originally were intending to add, and exposing my question: Is there a way to use some sort of variable inside of an attribute so that we can inherit and keep the attribute decorations?

  Hey guys, I was looking at the Twitter for iPhone app and was puzzled. First of all, there are normal words looking like links inside. Second, when I touch those link-like words, the text view (or maybe web view) jumps to the corresponding part below (yes, it doesn't open Safari, it just jumps to the text within that text/web view) Now I want to implement the same effects.   I'm in a situation where I need to get all articles that are tied to a User through 2 tables: article_access: gives users privilege to see an article article_favorites: of public articles, users have favorited these So in ActiveRecord you might have this: class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :article_access_tokens has_many :article_favorites def articles unless @articles ids = article_access_tokens.all(:select => "article_id").map(&:article_id) + article_favorites.all(:select => "article_id").map(&:article_id) @articles = Article.send(:scoped, :conditions => {:id => ids.uniq}) end @articles end end That gives me basically an articles association which reads from two separate tables. Question is though, what's the right way to do this? Can I somehow make 1 SQL SELECT call to do this?

I have base address 0xDEADBEEF and want to write something like this: Assembler a((void*)0xDEADBEEF); a.Emit() << Push(Reg::Eax) << Push(Reg::Ebx) << Jmp(0xFEFEFEFE); Inline assembler isn't my choice because generated machine code is dependent of the program state. • NoMethodError when trying to invoke helper method from Rails controller

  I'm getting a NoMethodError when trying to access a method defined in one of my helper modules from one of my controller classes. My Rails application uses the helper class method with the :all symbol as shown below: class ApplicationController < ActionController::Base helper :all . . end My understanding is that this should make all of my controller classes automatically include all of the helper modules within the app/helpers directory, therefore mixing in all of the methods into the controllers. Is this correct? If I explicitly include the helper module within the controller then everything works correctly.

  I have a grid layout that holds a limited 6 items per screen. This set number is just a base for the app and make it look and feel better so it must stay set to that. To get passed this and to add some flash to the app, I want to animate a style of screen change. For instance, when a finger is dragged left, push the current view to the side and bring the next it, very similar to how a gallery does it, except I would like it to be able to scroll vertical as well.   I need to be able to drag and drop boxes of differing dimensions on the same grid. JQuery UI seems to offer 80% of what I'm after particularly the sortable grid the have on their demo page. The only problem is that this grid only works with boxes of identical dimensions. My requirement is to be able to have the same functionality but with boxes that are sized as multiples of the base unit. For example - let's say the standard box size is 300x300px I would also like the opportunity to show on the same grid a 300x600px and a 600x600px box. There's no requirement to display boxes that are not multiples of the dimensions of the smallest box size.
