• Changing the size of the UISearchBar TextField ?

  I have a UITableView with an Index on the side; I want to add a UISearchBar to it, but the index overlaps with the "x" to clear the search. I've noticed in the Contacts application, the textfield within the UISearchBar is resized to accommodate this, but I can't work out how to do this in my own app. I have tried the following in my viewDidLoad, but it does not seem to work. UITextField * textField = (UITextField *)[[self.search subviews] objectAtIndex:0]; CGRect r = textField.frame; [textField setFrame:CGRectMake(r.origin.x, r.origin.y, r.size.height, r.size.width-30)]; Any ideas?

• fixed-size tableView cell in iPhone?

  I want to have all same size(width) cells in tableView no matter what accessory they have. If text in a cell almost fits to a cell, If i click that cell, check mark(accessory at the right) is displayed and some of characters goes to next line. it's annyoing. It's ok to do wordwrap. I can adjust cell's height. But I dont' want a cell displays different number of characters in an line depends on it's clicked or not. How can I do that?? thanks.

  I have the following piece of Javascript code on my web-page var central_image = document.createElement("img") central_image.setAttribute("src", imgs[curr_image_no - 1]); central_image.setAttribute("name", "jpeg"); document.getElementById("photo").appendChild(central_image); central_image.onload = getDimensions(); //function that alerts image dimensions Now, when the central_image is loaded for the 1st time in Firefox, its height always equals to 0. In IE its dimensions are 28 x 30 pixels. When I reload image, its dimensions are OK in both browsers. I guess the problem is that function getDimensions() starts before image was loaded completely. How to change that?

• Firefox, prevent rendering between javascript statements.

  I'm trying to create some kind of zoom around the mouse cursor feature on my website which ultimately runs these two lines (+ the same for height/scrollTop). canvas.style.width = someValue; canvas.parentNode.scrollLeft = someOtherValue; The problem is that in firefox(3.6) the page is re-rendered directly after the first row has been executed and since the view is depending on both values this means that every time i recalculate the view firefox will will render an invalid view before the correct one, in other words creating flicker. I've tried swapping the two rows but get the same problem. In chrome, opera and IE this doesn't happen. Both lines are executed before any rendering is done. Is there any way to lock the rendering manually, maybe something like this? document.disableRendering(); //fantasy function canvas.style.width = someValue; canvas.parentNode.scrollLeft = someOtherValue; document.enableRendering(); //fantasy function

• weird space in IE - Any suggestions?

  The below table is the only element inside a body tag - This displays fine in Firefox 3 as i expect it to be but it does not look good in IE7.   Hello, I have a custom UITableViewCell. However, when I got in edit mode, I don't have any Delete and Move indicators appearing. The custom cell draws itself in the contentView. • jQuery: Animated header plugin

  I'm looking for a jQuery plugin that can help me with the following: I have a list of images I want to use for my header but they are pretty big (height especially) and I don't want to resize them to fit my small header div. What I'd want is a plugin that allows the images to start at the bottom of the div (or rather the top of the image at the top of the div) and move upwards so the entire image can be seen, and once up they are shown entirely (bottom of image at bottom of div) they should "blend" (opacity toggle or something alike) with the next image and thus create a continuous loop with all the images. I've looked through several plugins but have never found one that can achieve what I'm looking for (maybe I'm asking for a tad too much) but my JS is not sufficient enough to build it myself.   Hi, I have a problem with IE (all versions). I have a header div with a relative position and inside this another div with absolute position and right alignment. <div id="header" style="position: relative; width: 1000px; height: 60px;"> content http://stadtwerke-bitburg.de/fileadmin/overflow_prob_IE.png Now when I open the pulldown menu in FF/Safari/Opera everything is all right. Whereas in IE everything which is taller than 60px disappears behind my header div. Is there a workaround for this problem with CSS or do I have to write javascript to get this fixed? thx TC

• rsvg doesn't render linked images

  I use the python rsvg bindings to render an svg image into cairo and save to file, which mostly works. But if the svg file contains a linked image, like so: <image href="static/usrimgs/tmpDtIKpx.png" x="10" y="10" width="600px" height="400px"></image> the image doesn't show up in the final file (the rest of the svg renders just fine). The relative path is correct based on where the script is running, but I'm guessing there's some problem with the fact that it would normally be a relative URL, not a relative filepath. How do I get around this?

  I'm attempting to use the old IFrame-over-SWF trick to get HTML to display "inside" a SWF. I'm following the example provided by Brian Deitte at: http://www.deitte.com/IFrameDemo3/IFrameDemo.html. (The source code can be viewed and downloaded by right-clicking on the SWF and selecting "View Source".) In the latest versions of Firefox, Google, Opera, and Safari on the Mac, it all looks good. But in IE 8 the absolutely positioned div containing the IFrame is positioned too far up and left, and the height and width are considerably smaller. Thoughts?

• What would be a good way to scale images in c#

  I got a website which contains alot of projects with each project containing a sidebar. In this sidebar it is possible to attach images to a project. The images attached will be shown in a gallery with 3 small thumbs at the bottom and one bigger image at the top of the gallery. The big image will refresh to another image when a visitor clicks on the small thumb @ the bottom of the gallery. The thumbs are no problem, they are shown correctly. My problem is the bigger image at the top of the gallery. The images that get uploaded have a big variety of sizes, while my holder has a width of 239 and height of 179. What would be the best way to scale the images so that they are shwon correctly to the visitors of the website?
