  • Format date in String Template email

    I'm creating an email using String Template but when I print out a date, it prints out the full date (eg. Wed Apr 28 10:51:37 BST 2010). I'd like to print it out in the format dd/mm/yyyy but don't know how to format this in the .st file. I can't modify the date individually (using java's simpleDateFormatter) because I iterate over a collection of objects with dates. Is there a way to format the date in the .st email template?

  • Remove extra junk from C proprocessor?

    I'm trying to use the C proprocessor on non-C code, and it works fine except for creating lines like this at the top: # 1 "test.java" # 1 "<built-in>" # 1 "<command-line>" # 1 "test.java" The problem is that these lines aren't valid in Java. Is there any way to get the preprocessor to not write this stuff? I'd prefer not to have to run this through something else to just remove the first 4 lines every time.

  • OpenRasta overwriting Content-Length header in HEAD responses

    I'm creating a pretty simple HTTP service using OpenRasta. For HEAD requests, the HTTP 1.1 spec states that HEAD requests should have the Content-Length set to "the size of the entity-body that would have been sent had the request been a GET" (section 14.13). However, OpenRasta apparently sees that the response body is empty and automatically sets the Content-Length header to "0". What is the recommended way to override this behavior? Thanks-

    I am using the return from the following call as the datasource for a grid. public object GetPropertyDataSourceWithCheckBox( ) { return ( from p in LocalProperties join c in GetCities( ) on p.CityID equals c.CityID orderby p.StreetNumber select new { Selected = false, p.PropertyID, p.StreetNumber, p.StreetName, c.CityName } ).ToList( ); } I get a checkbox in the grid, but it is READ-ONLY. [For the record, the grid is DevExpress.] Is there a way around this, short of creating a non-anonymous class?

    I'm writing a game which uses 3D models to draw a scene (top-down orthographic projection), but a 2D physics engine to calculate response to collisions, etc. I have a few 3D assets for which I'd like to be able to automatically generate a hitbox by 'slicing' the 3D mesh with the X-Y plane and creating a polygon from the resultant edges. Google is failing me on this one (and not much helpful material on SO either). Suggestions?

    Hi, I created on wcf web service and trying to test with SOAP UI. When testing with soap ui for example creating an employee, if I send soap request xml with <empId>0</empId> works fine. <empId></empId> **throwing exception.** if i completly remove <empId> tag it works fine.... Is there any way to make default value as "0" in wsdl in WCF? Thanks nRk

    Hello, I am returning the variable I am creating in a using statement inside the using statement (sounds funny): public DataTable foo () { using (DataTable properties = new DataTable()) { // do something return properties; } } Will this Dispose the properties variable?? After doing this am still getting this Warning: Warning 34 CA2000 : Microsoft.Reliability : In method 'test.test', call System.IDisposable.Dispose on object 'properties' before all references to it are out of scope.     So here is what I have: a PDF form (job application) that a client is requesting to put on their website as a form and the data gets sent to them when an applicant on the site fills the form out. My idea is as follows: dissecting the PDF, taking its fields and making the HTML form, then processing on the server side, creating the new PDF and emailing as an attachment to the client. However, something tells me that there is a better, more effective way of doing it. Is that so?

    So log4j comes with two existing log rollers: RollingFileAppender, and DailyRollingFileAppender. Has anyone heard of an appender that does both of what the former do? I need an appender that will roll log files based on filesize, but also append the current date to it.     Hello, I am creating some cookies in my ASP.NET application. These cookies expire 10 minutes after they have been created. I follow the approach described on MSDN as shown here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.web.httpcookie.expires.aspx My question is, when a cookie "expires", what happens? Does the browser automatically delete the cookie? Is it our responsibility as developers to remove the cookies if they exist and have expired? Thank you,
