• Retrieve remote XML data with PHP

  I'm currently reading a regularly updated XML file with PHP (simpleXML). I'd like to reduce calls to the remote server by reading a cache file on my web server, then after some time, retrieving a new copy of the remote file. Is this an accepted practice for reading remote XML files, then parsing? Can anyone offer some suggestions on how to go about this in PHP, or perhaps there are some PEAR classes that deal with this?

  I have a function in my model that I need to use multiple conditions when querying. Additionally I would like to also have partial matches. I currently have: public function searchClient($search_term) { $rows = $this->fetchAll( $this->select() ->where('first_name = ?', $search_term) ); return $rows->toArray(); } Which is the equivalent of "SELECT * FROM clients WHERE first_name = 'foobar';" I would like to have a function that is the equivalent of "SELECT * FROM clients WHERE first_name LIKE '%foobar%' OR last_name LIKE '%foobar%' OR home_phone LIKE '%foobar%';" How would I create such a query within Zend_Db_Table?

  The C# Language Reference on MSDN defines that protected internal as "Access is limited to the current assembly or types derived from the containing class". But from the semantic point of protected internal" sounds to me like both protected and internal which means the member will accessible only to those derived classes with in the same assembly. Is there any access modified that has a meaning to the same effect?

  In my rails 3 model, I have two classes: Product, Service. I want both to be of type InventoryItem because I have another model called Store and Store has_many :InventoryItems This is what I'm trying to get to, but I'm not sure how to model this in my InventoryItem model and my Product and Service models. Should InventoryItem just be a parent class that Product and Service inherit from, or should InventoryItem be modeled as a class abstract of which Product and Service extend from. • Is is possible to parse a web page from the client side for a large number of words and if so, how?

  I have a list of keywords, about 25,000 of them. I would like people who add a certain < script tag on their web page to have these keywords transformed into links. What would be the best way to go and achieve this? I have tried the simple javascript approach (an array with lots of elements and regexping/replacing each) and it obviously slows down the browser. I could always process the content server-side if there was a way, from the client, to send the page's content to a cross-domain server script (I'm partial to PHP but it could be anything) but I don't know of any way to do this. Any other working solution is also welcome.

  I'm testing a simple User Control in Visual Studio 2008: A Panel named Wrapper with some controls inside. Can Visual Studio handle this at design time? public partial class TestControl : System.Web.UI.UserControl { [Description("Css class of the div around the control.")] [CssClassProperty] public string CssClass { get { return Wrapper.CssClass; } set { Wrapper.CssClass = value; } } } When setting the CssClass property, it doesn't update the css of the Panel at design time. • Good ways to map a 2D side shooter (somewhat like liero, or soldat)

  I'm wondering what way would be best to render a 2D map for a shooter (these will be static maps) similar to Soldat. Multiple options I've considered are a tile based map (stored in txt files), or just creating different classes for the different terrains I plan to use and creating a data structure to read/store them in a file. (I want to also be able to include things like jumping/running on walls, sliding down walls/slopes ect) I feel like there must be a better way than either of these, but haven't been able to find definitive information :/ Thanks :)

• AngularJs not working with dynamic html

  In my cshtml file I have a form named 'ApplyMedicalMain' and I want to show a dynamically loaded division when the form is dirty but its not happening even though the form is dirty ... • Downloading large files with AFNetworking

  I'm trying to implement downloading of a large file and show to user current progress, but block in: -[AFURLConnectionOperation setDownloadProgressBlock:] returns incorrect bytesRead and totalBytesRead values (they are smaller than they should be). For example: If I have a 90MB file and when it downloads completely, latest block invocation in setDownloadProgressBlock: gives me totalBytesRead value about 30MB. On other side, if file is 2MB large, latest block invocation gives correct totalBytesRead 2MB value. AFNetworking is updated to the latest version from github. If AFNetworking can't do it correctly, what solution can I use? Edit: I've determined that even if file is not downloaded completely (and this happens every time with relatively big file) AFNetworking calls success block in: -[AFHTTPRequestOperation setCompletionBlockWithSuccess:failure] I asked a similar question here about this situation, but didn't get any answers. I can check in code downloaded and real file sizes, but AFNetworking has no API for continuation of partial download.

The thing is, i wish to distinguish between the content,title and date for each blog post.   I assigned these classes menu second_menu menu_about_author to ul so the html code looks like <ul class="menu second_menu menu_about_author"> I wanted this ul to have the same properties like menu and second_menu and then I wanted to move the menu_about_author little bit down.
