  Actually I came across a question in Dynamic Programming where we need to find the number of ways to tile a 2 X N area with tiles of given dimensions.. Here is the problem statement Now after a bit of recurrence solving I came out with these. F(n) = F(n-1) + F(n-2) + 2G(n-1), and G(n) = G(n-1) + F(n-1) I know how to solve LR model where one function is there.For large N as is the case in the above problem we can do the matrix exponentiation and achieve O(k^3log(N)) time where k is the minimum number such that for all km F(n) does not depend on F(n-k). The method of solving linear recurrence with matrix exponentiation as it is given in that blog. Now for the LR involving two functions can anyone suggest an approach feasible enough for large N.

• Alternative to Google Adsense which has good international coverage

  I have a technical blog (programming related) which has around 500 visit per days, 70% are international visitors and 30% are from US/CA. Google Adsense disabled my account due to invalid clicks so I can't use them (no need to explain here, they suck hard and never respect and listen to the publishers' appeal) I have tried adbrite and recently using chitika but they almost give me nothing, e.g. chitika 13,865 Page Views 4 clicks $0.01 The performance is so poor even I don't want to mention about it. I am already putting a full top banner and a 350x200 box in article body. I am researching if any alternative would provide more revenue for my internation visitors or technical visitors. Thanks.

• Building iPhone Interfaces for Oracle E-Business Suite

  Over on his blog Juan has been showing you how simple it is to develop a rich Web user interface with ADF accessing Oracle E-Business Suite data and even exposing it on an iPad. In this entry I'm starting from his sample application and I'm showing how easy it is to build an interface that will look great on an iPhone (or other mobile devices) using Oracle ADF Mobile Browser. For those of you who are just using ADF and never tried ADF Mobile Browser - you'll find that the development experience is quite familiar and similar to your normal Web application development. In the latest version of JDeveloper (11.1.2.1) which I'm usingin this demo we have a built-in skin that will give your application the native iOS look and feel. In the demo I achieve this by setting the styleclass of a tr:panelHeader component to af_m_toolbar to get this.   My Oracle Support 6.3 was released over the weekend (13-Oct-2012), and with that we released 30+ enhancements and 60+ bug fixes. Most important changes Search Suggestions are auto-correcting spelling errors, more suggestions for 'how to' type questions, enhanced usability to see the suggested additional terms. Improved Knowledge Base region on the My Oracle Support dashboard: recent searches from this region now retain the search attributions (e.g. pre-selected products or release). Search Tip: if the Knowledge Base region doesn't show up as the first region in the right column on the My Oracle Support dashboard, consider personalizing your dashboard to put it first, so that you right there for searching. • Is Microsoft Prism alive and active?

  I've been doing a lot of reading these last two days on Microsoft Prism, but the thing I'm still not very sure of is what does the future look like for it? I know that version 4.1 was just released a few months ago, but besides Microsoft's own documentation, I haven't found many blog posts written in the last year on the subject, most of what I find is 2009-2010. It definitely looks interesting but the learning curve seems to be a bit steep and I wouldn't want to embark if it's going to become obsolete in the near future. Anyone has any insight on this?

  I'm looking for a way to reboot into Windows from Ubuntu on a 10.10/Vista dual boot system. The specific use case is that I would like to be able to ssh into my running Ubuntu instance and issue a command that will initiate a reboot directly into Windows. I found a promising blog post, but the script that it suggests isn't working: #!/bin/bash WINDOWS_ENTRY=`grep menuentry /boot/grub/grub.cfg | grep --line-number Windows` MENU_NUMBER=$(( `echo $WINDOWS_ENTRY | sed -e "s/:.*//"` - 1 )) sudo grub-reboot $MENU_NUMBER sudo reboot man grub-reboot isn't much help, but it seems to be leading me in the right direction: set the default boot entry for GRUB, for the next boot only WINDOWS_ENTRY=`grep menuentry /boot/grub/grub.cfg | grep --line-number Windows` MENU_NUMBER=$(( `echo $WINDOWS_ENTRY | sed -e "s/:.*//"` - 1 )) echo $MENU_NUMBER This returns the expected value, but on reboot the first menu entry is still highlighted.
