  • How to register an agent with launchd

    - by Konrad Rudolph
    I’m unable to schedule a periodic launch with launchctl/launchd on OS X (Leopard). Basically, I’m unable to find a step-by-step list of instructions on the web and the intuitive approach doesn’t work. The sync.plist file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Label</key> <string>net.madrat.utils.sync</string> <key>Program</key> <string>rsync</string> <key>ProgramArguments</key> <array> <string>-ar</string> <string>/path/to/folder/</string> <string>/path/to/backup/</string> </array> <key>StartInterval</key> <integer>7200</integer> </dict> </plist> I’ve put this script inside the path ~/Library/LaunchAgents. Next, I’ve registered the script using launchctl load ~/Library/LaunchAgents/sync.plist Finally, to test that it works, I started the job: launchctl start net.madrat.utils.sync – Nothing happened. Manually executing the rsync command in the terminal yields the expected result. I’m fairly sure that the job was registered correctly because if I try to start a non-existing job, I get an error message (which I didn’t get in the above command). What did I do wrong?

  • Please, help writing a MIB

    - by facha
    I have a problem with an snmpwalk query returning snmp variables in a non-uniform way: .1.3.6.1.2.1.10.127.1.3.3.1.2.215 -> Hex-STRING: 24 37 4C 0C 65 0E .1.3.6.1.2.1.10.127.1.3.3.1.2.216 -> Hex-STRING: 24 37 4C 0B A2 DA .1.3.6.1.2.1.10.127.1.3.3.1.2.217 -> STRING: "$7L f:" .1.3.6.1.2.1.10.127.1.3.3.1.2.218 -> STRING: "$7L k2" As you can see, some variables are of a STRING type, others are Hex-STRING. So, I'm trying to write a simple MIB to force them all come out as Hex-STRING. This is where I've gotten so far: TEST-MIB DEFINITIONS ::= BEGIN PhysAddress ::= TEXTUAL-CONVENTION DISPLAY-HINT "1x:" STATUS current SYNTAX OCTET STRING test OBJECT-TYPE SYNTAX PhysAddresss MAX-ACCESS read-only STATUS current ::= { 1 3 6 1 2 1 10 127 1 3 3 1 2 } END However, snmpwalk doesn't seem to notice my textual convention (even though the "test" variable is being recognized). I still get a mixture of STIRNGs and Hex-STRINGs. Could anybody point to where is my mistake? snmpwalk -v2c -cpublic 192.168.1.2 TEST-MIB::test ... TEST-MIB::test.216 = Hex-STRING: 24 37 4C 0B A2 DA TEST-MIB::test.217 = STRING: "$7L f:"

  • How to disable proxy cache when query string is empty?

    - by chx
    With nginx I have server { listen 1.2.3.4:80 proxy_cache_valid 200 302 5m; location / { try_files $uri @upstream; root $root; } } When I go http://example.com/foobar it generates a redirect to http://example.com/foobar?filter_distance=50&... which is visitor dependent so I would like to not cache this redirect. I need to bypass cache when the query string is empty. I am a bit lost because location /foobar will match both.

  • SharePoint web services not protected?

    - by Philipp Schmid
    Using WSS 3.0, we have noticed that while users can be restricted to access only certain sub-sites of a site collection through permission settings, the same doesn't seem to be true for web services, such as /_vti_bin/Lists.asmx! Here's our experimental setup: http://formal/test : 'test' site collection - site1 : first site in test site collection, user1 is member - site2 : second site in test site collection, user2 is member With this setup, using a web browser user2 can: - access http://formal/test/site2/Default.aspx - cannot access http://formal/test/site1/Default.aspx That's what is expected. To our surprise however, using the code below, user2 can retrieve the names of the lists in site1, something he should not have access to! Is that by (unfortunate) design, or is there a configuration setting we've missed that would prevent user2 from retrieving the names of lists in site1? Is this going to be different in SharePoint 2010? Here's the web service code used in the experiment: class Program { static readonly string _url ="http://formal/sites/research/site2/_vti_bin/Lists.asmx"; static readonly string _user = "user2"; static readonly string _password = "password"; static readonly string _domain = "DOMAIN"; static void Main(string[] args) { try { ListsSoapClient service = GetServiceClient(_url, _user, _password, _domain); var result = service.GetListCollection(); Console.WriteLine(result.Value); } catch (Exception ex) { Console.WriteLine(ex.ToString()); } } private static ListsSoapClient GetServiceClient(string url, string userName, string password, string domain) { BasicHttpBinding binding = new BasicHttpBinding(BasicHttpSecurityMode.TransportCredentialOnly); binding.Security.Transport.ClientCredentialType = HttpClientCredentialType.Ntlm; ListsSoapClient service = new ListsSoapClient(binding, new System.ServiceModel.EndpointAddress(url)); service.ClientCredentials.UserName.Password = password; service.ClientCredentials.UserName.UserName = (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(domain)) ? domain + "\\" + userName : userName; return service; } }

  • Under *nix, how can I find a string within a file within a directory ?

    - by roberto
    Hi all. I'm using ubuntu linux, and I use bash from with a terminal emulator every day for many tasks. I would like to know how to find a string or a substring within a file that is within a particular directory. If I was knew the file which contained my target substring, I would just cat the file and pipe it through grep, thus: cat file | grep mysubstring But in this case, the pesky substring could be anywhere within a known directory. How do I hunt down my substring ?

  • LinkedIn API returns 'Unauthorized' response (PHP OAuth)

    - by Jim Greenleaf
    I've been struggling with this one for a few days now. I've got a test app set up to connect to LinkedIn via OAuth. I want to be able to update a user's status, but at the moment I'm unable to interact with LinkedIn's API at all. I am able to successfully get a requestToken, then an accessToken, but when I issue a request to the API, I see an 'unauthorized' error that looks something like this: object(OAuthException)#2 (8) { ["message:protected"]=> string(73) "Invalid auth/bad request (got a 401, expected HTTP/1.1 20X or a redirect)" ["string:private"]=> string(0) "" ["code:protected"]=> int(401) ["file:protected"]=> string(47) "/home/pmfeorg/public_html/dev/test/linkedin.php" ["line:protected"]=> int(48) ["trace:private"]=> array(1) { [0]=> array(6) { ["file"]=> string(47) "/home/pmfeorg/public_html/dev/test/linkedin.php" ["line"]=> int(48) ["function"]=> string(5) "fetch" ["class"]=> string(5) "OAuth" ["type"]=> string(2) "->" ["args"]=> array(2) { [0]=> string(35) "http://api.linkedin.com/v1/people/~" [1]=> string(3) "GET" } } } ["lastResponse"]=> string(358) " 401 1276375790558 0000 [unauthorized].   • Simple C# CSV Excel export class

    - by Chris
    Thought this might be handy for someone, this is an extremely simple CSV export class that I needed. Features: Extremely simple to use Escapes commas and quotes so excel handles them fine Exports date and datetimes in timezone-proof format Without further ado: using System; using System.Data.SqlTypes; using System.IO; using System.Text; using System.Collections.Generic; /// <summary> /// Simple CSV export /// Example: /// CsvExport myExport = new CsvExport(); /// /// myExport.AddRow(); /// myExport["Region"] = "New York, USA"; /// myExport["Sales"] = 100000; /// myExport["Date Opened"] = new DateTime(2003, 12, 31); /// /// myExport.AddRow(); /// myExport["Region"] = "Sydney \"in\" Australia"; /// myExport["Sales"] = 50000; /// myExport["Date Opened"] = new DateTime(2005, 1, 1, 9, 30, 0); /// /// Then you can do any of the following three output options: /// string myCsv = myExport.Export(); /// myExport.ExportToFile("Somefile.csv"); /// byte[] myCsvData = myExport.ExportToBytes(); /// </summary> public class CsvExport { /// <summary> /// To keep the ordered list of column names /// </summary> List<string> fields = new List<string>(); /// <summary> /// The list of rows /// </summary> List<Dictionary<string, object>> rows = new List<Dictionary<string, object>>(); /// <summary> /// The current row /// </summary> Dictionary<string, object> currentRow { get { return rows[rows.Count - 1]; } } /// <summary> /// Set a value on this column /// </summary> public object this[string field] { set { // Keep track of the field names, because the dictionary loses the ordering if (!fields.Contains(field)) fields.Add(field); currentRow[field] = value; } } /// <summary> /// Call this before setting any fields on a row /// </summary> public void AddRow() { rows.Add(new Dictionary<string, object>()); } /// <summary> /// Converts a value to how it should output in a csv file /// If it has a comma, it needs surrounding with double quotes /// Eg Sydney, Australia -> "Sydney, Australia" /// Also if it contains any double quotes ("), then they need to be replaced with quad quotes[sic] ("") /// Eg "Dangerous Dan" McGrew -> """Dangerous Dan"" McGrew" /// </summary> string MakeValueCsvFriendly(object value) { if (value == null) return ""; if (value is INullable && ((INullable)value).IsNull) return ""; if (value is DateTime) { if (((DateTime)value).TimeOfDay.TotalSeconds==0) return ((DateTime)value).ToString("yyyy-MM-dd"); return ((DateTime)value).ToString("yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss"); } string output = value.ToString(); if (output.Contains(",") || output.Contains("\"")) output = '"' + output.Replace("\"", "\"\"") + '"'; return output; } /// <summary> /// Output all rows as a CSV returning a string /// </summary> public string Export() { StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); // The header foreach (string field in fields) sb.Append(field).Append(","); sb.AppendLine(); // The rows foreach (Dictionary<string, object> row in rows) { foreach (string field in fields) sb.Append(MakeValueCsvFriendly(row[field])).Append(","); sb.AppendLine(); } return sb.ToString(); } /// <summary> /// Exports to a file /// </summary> public void ExportToFile(string path) { File.WriteAllText(path, Export()); } /// <summary> /// Exports as raw UTF8 bytes /// </summary> public byte[] ExportToBytes() { return Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(Export()); } }

  • ASP.NET MVC 2 / Localization / Dynamic Default Value?

    - by cyberblast
    Hello In an ASP.NET MVC 2 application, i'm having a route like this: routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{lang}/{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new // Parameter defaults { controller = "Home", action = "Index", lang = "de", id = UrlParameter.Optional }, new { lang = new AllowedValuesRouteConstraint(new string[] { "de", "en", "fr", "it" }, StringComparison.InvariantCultureIgnoreCase) } Now, basically I would like to set the thread's culture according the language passed in. But there is one exception: If the user requests the page for the first time, like calling "http://www.mysite.com" I want to set the initial language if possible to the one "preferred by the browser". How can I distinguish in an early procesing stage (like global.asax), if the default parameter has been set because of the default value or mentioned explicit through the URL? (I would prefer a solution where the request URL is not getting parsed). Is there a way to dynamically provide a default-value for a paramter? Something like a hook? Or where can I override the default value (good application event?). This is the code i'm actually experimenting with: protected void Application_AcquireRequestState(object sender, EventArgs e) { string activeLanguage; string[] validLanguages; string defaultLanguage; string browsersPreferredLanguage; try { HttpContextBase contextBase = new HttpContextWrapper(Context); RouteData activeRoute = RouteTable.Routes.GetRouteData(new HttpContextWrapper(Context)); if (activeRoute == null) { return; } activeLanguage = activeRoute.GetRequiredString("lang"); Route route = (Route)activeRoute.Route; validLanguages = ((AllowedValuesRouteConstraint)route.Constraints["lang"]).AllowedValues; defaultLanguage = route.Defaults["lang"].ToString(); browsersPreferredLanguage = GetBrowsersPreferredLanguage(); //TODO: Better way than parsing the url bool defaultInitialized = contextBase.Request.Url.ToString().IndexOf(string.Format("/{0}/", defaultLanguage), StringComparison.InvariantCultureIgnoreCase) > -1; string languageToActivate = defaultLanguage; if (!defaultInitialized) { if (validLanguages.Contains(browsersPreferredLanguage, StringComparer.InvariantCultureIgnoreCase)) { languageToActivate = browsersPreferredLanguage; } } //TODO: Where and how to overwrtie the default value that it gets passed to the controller? contextBase.RewritePath(contextBase.Request.Path.Replace("/de/", "/en/")); SetLanguage(languageToActivate); } catch (Exception ex) { //TODO: Log Console.WriteLine(ex.Message); } } protected string GetBrowsersPreferredLanguage() { string acceptedLang = string.Empty; if (HttpContext.Current.Request.UserLanguages != null && HttpContext.Current.Request.UserLanguages.Length > 0) { acceptedLang = HttpContext.Current.Request.UserLanguages[0].Substring(0, 2); } return acceptedLang; } protected void SetLanguage(string languageToActivate) { CultureInfo cultureInfo = new CultureInfo(languageToActivate); if (!Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture.TwoLetterISOLanguageName.Equals(languageToActivate, StringComparison.InvariantCultureIgnoreCase)) { Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = cultureInfo; } if (!Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture.TwoLetterISOLanguageName.Equals(languageToActivate, StringComparison.InvariantCultureIgnoreCase)) { Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = CultureInfo.CreateSpecificCulture(cultureInfo.Name); } } The RouteConstraint to reproduce the sample: public class AllowedValuesRouteConstraint : IRouteConstraint { private string[] _allowedValues; private StringComparison _stringComparism; public string[] AllowedValues { get { return _allowedValues; } } public AllowedValuesRouteConstraint(string[] allowedValues, StringComparison stringComparism) { _allowedValues = allowedValues; _stringComparism = stringComparism; } public AllowedValuesRouteConstraint(string[] allowedValues) { _allowedValues = allowedValues; _stringComparism = StringComparison.InvariantCultureIgnoreCase; } public bool Match(HttpContextBase httpContext, Route route, string parameterName, RouteValueDictionary values, RouteDirection routeDirection) { if (_allowedValues != null) { return _allowedValues.Any(a => a.Equals(values[parameterName].ToString(), _stringComparism)); } else { return false; } } } Can someone help me out with that problem? Thanks, Martin

Here's the get ActionResult method [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Get)] public ActionResult Viewer(string reportYear, string reportMonth, string propIds, string reportName, string reportYearFrom, string reportMonthFrom, string reportYearTo, string reportMonthTo) { return View(); } I'm hitting this too...not seeing any values in the parameters...but that's just because I haven't passed them in yet...I don't think that's whats keeping the Viewer page from displaying.? Now...one would one expect the Viewer view to be rendered...right?...well all I see is the page that this was called from...it never displays the Viewer page???!!?!? Here's the routes from global.asax routes.MapRoute( "Viewer", // Route name "Home/Viewer", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Viewer" } // Parameter defaults ); routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } // Parameter defaults ); I can browse directly to the page http://localhost:50083/Home/Viewer and when I do so I hit the get ActionResult method and the page renders just fine. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • GWT with JDO problem

    - by Maksim
    I just start playing with GWT I'm having a really hard time to make GWT + JAVA + JDO + Google AppEngine working with DataStore. I was trying to follow different tutorial but had no luck. For example I wend to these tutorials: TUT1 TUT2 I was not able to figure out how and what i need to do in order to make this work. Please look at my simple code and tell me what do i need to do so i can persist it to the datastore: 1. • Android: HttpURLConnection not working properly

    - by giorgiline
    I'm trying to get the cookies from a website after sending user credentials through a POST Request an it seems that it doesn't work in android this way. ¿Am I doing something bad?. Please help. I've searched here in different posts but there's no useful answer. It's curious that this run in a desktop Java implementation it works perfect but it crashes in Android platform. And it is exactly the same code, specifically when calling HttpURLConnection.getHeaderFields(), it also happens with other member methods. It's a simple code and I don't know why the hell isn't working. DESKTOP CODE: This goes just in the main() HttpURLConnection connection = null; OutputStream out = null; try { URL url = new URL("http://www.XXXXXXXX.php"); String charset = "UTF-8"; String postback = "1"; String user = "XXXXXXXXX"; String password = "XXXXXXXX"; String rememberme = "on"; String query = String.format("postback=%s&user=%s&password=%s&rememberme=%s" , URLEncoder.encode(postback, charset) , URLEncoder.encode(user,charset) , URLEncoder.encode(password, charset) , URLEncoder.encode(rememberme, charset)); connection = (HttpURLConnection)url.openConnection(); connection.setRequestMethod("POST"); connection.setRequestProperty("Accept-Charset", charset); connection.setDoOutput(true); connection.setFixedLengthStreamingMode(query.length()); out = connection.getOutputStream (); out.write(query.getBytes(charset)); if (connection.getHeaderFields() == null){ System.out.println("Header null"); }else{ for (String cookie: connection.getHeaderFields().get("Set-Cookie")){ System.out.println(cookie.split(";", 2)[0]); } } } catch (IOException e){ e.printStackTrace(); } finally { try { out.close();} catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace();} connection.disconnect(); } So the output is: login_key=20ad8177db4eca3f057c14a64bafc2c9 FASID=cabf20cc471fcacacdc7dc7e83768880 track=30c8183e4ebbe8b3a57b583166326c77 client-data=%7B%22ism%22%3Afalse%2C%22showm%22%3Afalse%2C%22ts%22%3A1349189669%7D ANDROID CODE: This goes inside doInBackground AsyncTask body HttpURLConnection connection = null; OutputStream out = null; try { URL url = new URL("http://www.XXXXXXXXXXXXXX.php"); String charset = "UTF-8"; String postback = "1"; String user = "XXXXXXXXX"; String password = "XXXXXXXX"; String rememberme = "on"; String query = String.format("postback=%s&user=%s&password=%s&rememberme=%s" , URLEncoder.encode(postback, charset) , URLEncoder.encode(user,charset) , URLEncoder.encode(password, charset) , URLEncoder.encode(rememberme, charset)); connection = (HttpURLConnection)url.openConnection(); connection.setRequestMethod("POST"); connection.setRequestProperty("Accept-Charset", charset); connection.setDoOutput(true); connection.setFixedLengthStreamingMode(query.length()); out = connection.getOutputStream (); out.write(query.getBytes(charset)); if (connection.getHeaderFields() == null){ Log.v(TAG, "Header null"); }else{ for (String cookie: connection.getHeaderFields().get("Set-Cookie")){ Log.v(TAG, cookie.split(";", 2)[0]); } } } catch (IOException e){ e.printStackTrace(); } finally { try { out.close();} catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace();} connection.disconnect(); } And here there is no output, it seems that connection.getHeaderFields() doesn't return result. It takes al least 30 seconds to show the Log: 10-02 16:56:25.918: V/class com.giorgi.myproject.activities.HomeActivity(2596): Header null

  • C# LINQ filtering with nested if statements

    - by Tim Sumrall
    I have a learning project where a data grid is filtered by 3 controls (a checkbox and 2 dropdowns) I'm about to wrap up and move on to another project as it works well but I don't like the complexity of nesting IF statements to capture all the possible combinations of the 3 filters and was wondering if there is a better way. For example: Something that would allow for more filters to be added easily rather than walking through all the nests and adding another level of madness. private void BuildQuery() { EntityQuery<MASTER_DOCKS> query = QDocksContext.GetMASTER_DOCKSQuery(); if (Tonnage.IsChecked.HasValue && Tonnage.IsChecked.Value) { if (null != FilterWaterWay.SelectedValue) { string WaterwaytoFilterBy = FilterWaterWay.SelectedValue.ToString(); if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(WaterwaytoFilterBy) && WaterwaytoFilterBy != "[Select WaterWay]") { if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue) { string StateToFilterBy = FilterState.SelectedValue.ToString(); if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue && !string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { query = query.Where(s => s.WTWY_NAME == WaterwaytoFilterBy && s.STATE == StateToFilterBy && (s.Tons != "0" && s.Tons != "")).OrderBy(s => s.WTWY_NAME); MyQuery.Text = "Tonnage, WW and State"; } } if (StateToFilterBy == "[Select State]") //waterway but no state { query = query.Where(s => s.WTWY_NAME == WaterwaytoFilterBy && (s.Tons != "0" && s.Tons != "")).OrderBy(s => s.WTWY_NAME); MyQuery.Text = "Tonnage, WW No State"; } } } else { if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue) { string StateToFilterBy = FilterState.SelectedValue.ToString(); if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue && !string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { query = query.Where(s => s.STATE == StateToFilterBy && (s.Tons != "0" && s.Tons != "")).OrderBy(s => s.WTWY_NAME); MyQuery.Text = "Tonnage State No WW"; } } else { query = query.Where(s => (s.Tons != "0" && s.Tons != "")); MyQuery.Text = "Tonnage No State No WW"; } } } } } else //no tonnage { if (null != FilterWaterWay.SelectedValue) { string WaterwaytoFilterBy = FilterWaterWay.SelectedValue.ToString(); if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(WaterwaytoFilterBy) && WaterwaytoFilterBy != "[Select WaterWay]") { if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue) { string StateToFilterBy = FilterState.SelectedValue.ToString(); if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue && !string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { query = query.Where(s => s.WTWY_NAME == WaterwaytoFilterBy && s.STATE == StateToFilterBy).OrderBy(s => s.WTWY_NAME); MyQuery.Text = "No Tonnage, WW and State"; } } if (StateToFilterBy == "[Select State]") //waterway but no state { query = query.Where(s => s.WTWY_NAME == WaterwaytoFilterBy).OrderBy(s => s.WTWY_NAME); MyQuery.Text = "No Tonnage, WW No State"; } } } else { if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue) { string StateToFilterBy = FilterState.SelectedValue.ToString(); if (null != FilterState.SelectedValue && !string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(StateToFilterBy) && StateToFilterBy != "[Select State]") { query = query.Where(s => s.STATE == StateToFilterBy).OrderBy(s => s.WTWY_NAME); MyQuery.Text = "No Tonnage State No WW"; } } else { LoadAllData(); MyQuery.Text = "No Tonnage No State No WW"; } } } } } LoadOperation<MASTER_DOCKS> loadOp = this.QDocksContext.Load(query); DocksGrid.ItemsSource = loadOp.Entities; }

  • Beware: Upgrade to ASP.NET MVC 2.0 with care if you use AntiForgeryToken

    - by James Crowley
    If you're thinking of upgrading to MVC 2.0, and you take advantage of the AntiForgeryToken support then be careful - you can easily kick out all active visitors after the upgrade until they restart their browser. Why's this?For the anti forgery validation to take place, ASP.NET MVC uses a session cookie called "__RequestVerificationToken_Lw__". This gets checked for and de-serialized on any page where there is an AntiForgeryToken() call. However, the format of this validation cookie has apparently changed between MVC 1.0 and MVC 2.0. What this means is that when you make to switch on your production server to MVC 2.0, suddenly all your visitors session cookies are invalid, resulting in calls to AntiForgeryToken() throwing exceptions (even on a standard GET request) when de-serializing it: [InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'System.Web.UI.Triplet' to type 'System.Object[]'.]   System.Web.Mvc.AntiForgeryDataSerializer.Deserialize(String serializedToken) +104[HttpAntiForgeryException (0x80004005): A required anti-forgery token was not supplied or was invalid.]   System.Web.Mvc.AntiForgeryDataSerializer.Deserialize(String serializedToken) +368   System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper.GetAntiForgeryTokenAndSetCookie(String salt, String domain, String path) +209   System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper.AntiForgeryToken(String salt, String domain, String path) +16   System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper.AntiForgeryToken() +10  <snip> So you've just kicked all your active users out of your site with exceptions until they think to restart their browser (to clear the session cookies). The only work around for now is to either write some code that wipes this cookie - or disable use of AntiForgeryToken() in your MVC 2.0 site until you're confident all session cookies will have expired. That in itself isn't very straightforward, given how frequently people tend to hibernate/standby their machines - the session cookie will only clear once the browser has been shut down and re-opened. Hope this helps someone out there!

  • How to make a file load in my program when a user double clicks an associated file.

    - by Edward Boyle
    I assume in this article that file extension association has been setup by the installer. I may address file extension association at a later date, but for the purpose of this article, I address what sometimes eludes new C# programmers. This is sometimes confusing because you just don’t think about it — you have to access a file that you rarely access when making Windows forms applications, “Program.cs” static class Program { /// /// The main entry point for the application. /// [STAThread] static void Main() { Application.EnableVisualStyles(); Application.SetCompatibleTextRenderingDefault(false); Application.Run(new Form1()); } } There are so many ways to skin this cat, so you get to see how I skinned my last cat. static class Program { /// /// The main entry point for the application. /// [STAThread] static void Main(string[] args) { Application.EnableVisualStyles(); Application.SetCompatibleTextRenderingDefault(false); Form1 mainf = new Form1(); if (args.Length > 0) { try { if (System.IO.File.Exists(args[0])) { mainf.LoadFile= args[0]; } } catch { MessageBox.Show("Could not open file.", "Could not open file.", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Information); } } Application.Run(mainf); } } It may be easy to miss, but don’t forget to add the string array for the command line arguments: static void Main(string[] args) this is not a part of the default program.cs You will notice the mainf.LoadFile property. In the main form of my program I have a property for public string LoadFile ... and the field private string loadFile = String.Empty; in the forms load event I check the value of this field. private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if(loadFile != String.Empty){ // The only way this field is NOT String.empty is if we set it in // static void Main() of program.cs // LOAD it however it is needed OpenFile, SetDatabase, whatever you use. } }

  • Solaris X86 64-bit Assembly Programming

    - by danx
    Solaris X86 64-bit Assembly Programming This is a simple example on writing, compiling, and debugging Solaris 64-bit x86 assembly language with a C program. This is also referred to as "AMD64" assembly. The term "AMD64" is used in an inclusive sense to refer to all X86 64-bit processors, whether AMD Opteron family or Intel 64 processor family. Both run Solaris x86. I'm keeping this example simple mainly to illustrate how everything comes together—compiler, assembler, linker, and debugger when using assembly language. The example I'm using here is a C program that calls an assembly language program passing a C string. The assembly language program takes the C string and calls printf() with it to print the string. AMD64 Register Usage But first let's review the use of AMD64 registers. AMD64 has several 64-bit registers, some special purpose (such as the stack pointer) and others general purpose. By convention, Solaris follows the AMD64 ABI in register usage, which is the same used by Linux, but different from Microsoft Windows in usage (such as which registers are used to pass parameters). This blog will only discuss conventions for Linux and Solaris. The following chart shows how AMD64 registers are used. The first six parameters to a function are passed through registers. If there's more than six parameters, parameter 7 and above are pushed on the stack before calling the function. The stack is also used to save temporary "stack" variables for use by a function. 64-bit Register Usage %rip Instruction Pointer points to the current instruction %rsp Stack Pointer %rbp Frame Pointer (saved stack pointer pointing to parameters on stack) %rdi Function Parameter 1 %rsi Function Parameter 2 %rdx Function Parameter 3 %rcx Function Parameter 4 %r8 Function Parameter 5 %r9 Function Parameter 6 %rax Function return value %r10, %r11 Temporary registers (need not be saved before used) %rbx, %r12, %r13, %r14, %r15 Temporary registers, but must be saved before use and restored before returning from the current function (usually with the push and pop instructions). 32-, 16-, and 8-bit registers To access the lower 32-, 16-, or 8-bits of a 64-bit register use the following: 64-bit register Least significant 32-bits Least significant 16-bits Least significant 8-bits %rax%eax%ax%al %rbx%ebx%bx%bl %rcx%ecx%cx%cl %rdx%edx%dx%dl %rsi%esi%si%sil %rdi%edi%di%axl %rbp%ebp%bp%bp %rsp%esp%sp%spl %r9%r9d%r9w%r9b %r10%r10d%r10w%r10b %r11%r11d%r11w%r11b %r12%r12d%r12w%r12b %r13%r13d%r13w%r13b %r14%r14d%r14w%r14b %r15%r15d%r15w%r15b %r16%r16d%r16w%r16b There's other registers present, such as the 64-bit %mm registers, 128-bit %xmm registers, 256-bit %ymm registers, and 512-bit %zmm registers. Except for %mm registers, these registers may not present on older AMD64 processors. Assembly Source The following is the source for a C program, helloas1.c, that calls an assembly function, hello_asm(). $ cat helloas1.c extern void hello_asm(char *s); int main(void) { hello_asm("Hello, World!"); } The assembly function called above, hello_asm(), is defined below. $ cat helloas2.s /* * helloas2.s * To build: * cc -m64 -o helloas2-cpp.s -D_ASM -E helloas2.s * cc -m64 -c -o helloas2.o helloas2-cpp.s */ #if defined(lint) || defined(__lint) /* ARGSUSED */ void hello_asm(char *s) { } #else /* lint */ #include <sys/asm_linkage.h> .extern printf ENTRY_NP(hello_asm) // Setup printf parameters on stack mov %rdi, %rsi // P2 (%rsi) is string variable lea .printf_string, %rdi // P1 (%rdi) is printf format string call printf ret SET_SIZE(hello_asm) // Read-only data .text .align 16 .type .printf_string, @object .printf_string: .ascii "The string is: %s.\n\0" #endif /* lint || __lint */ In the assembly source above, the C skeleton code under "#if defined(lint)" is optionally used for lint to check the interfaces with your C program--very useful to catch nasty interface bugs. The "asm_linkage.h" file includes some handy macros useful for assembly, such as ENTRY_NP(), used to define a program entry point, and SET_SIZE(), used to set the function size in the symbol table. The function hello_asm calls C function printf() by passing two parameters, Parameter 1 (P1) is a printf format string, and P2 is a string variable. The function begins by moving %rdi, which contains Parameter 1 (P1) passed hello_asm, to printf()'s P2, %rsi. Then it sets printf's P1, the format string, by loading the address the address of the format string in %rdi, P1. Finally it calls printf. After returning from printf, the hello_asm function returns itself. Larger, more complex assembly functions usually do more setup than the example above. If a function is returning a value, it would set %rax to the return value. Also, it's typical for a function to save the %rbp and %rsp registers of the calling function and to restore these registers before returning. %rsp contains the stack pointer and %rbp contains the frame pointer. Here is the typical function setup and return sequence for a function: ENTRY_NP(sample_assembly_function) push %rbp // save frame pointer on stack mov %rsp, %rbp // save stack pointer in frame pointer xor %rax, %r4ax // set function return value to 0. mov %rbp, %rsp // restore stack pointer pop %rbp // restore frame pointer ret // return to calling function SET_SIZE(sample_assembly_function) Compiling and Running Assembly Use the Solaris cc command to compile both C and assembly source, and to pre-process assembly source. You can also use GNU gcc instead of cc to compile, if you prefer. The "-m64" option tells the compiler to compile in 64-bit address mode (instead of 32-bit). $ cc -m64 -o helloas2-cpp.s -D_ASM -E helloas2.s $ cc -m64 -c -o helloas2.o helloas2-cpp.s $ cc -m64 -c helloas1.c $ cc -m64 -o hello-asm helloas1.o helloas2.o $ file hello-asm helloas1.o helloas2.o hello-asm: ELF 64-bit LSB executable AMD64 Version 1 [SSE FXSR FPU], dynamically linked, not stripped helloas1.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable AMD64 Version 1 helloas2.o: ELF 64-bit LSB relocatable AMD64 Version 1 $ hello-asm The string is: Hello, World!. Debugging Assembly with MDB MDB is the Solaris system debugger. It can also be used to debug user programs, including assembly and C. The following example runs the above program, hello-asm, under control of the debugger. In the example below I load the program, set a breakpoint at the assembly function hello_asm, display the registers and the first parameter, step through the assembly function, and continue execution. $ mdb hello-asm # Start the debugger > hello_asm:b # Set a breakpoint > ::run # Run the program under the debugger mdb: stop at hello_asm mdb: target stopped at: hello_asm: movq %rdi,%rsi > $C # display function stack ffff80ffbffff6e0 hello_asm() ffff80ffbffff6f0 0x400adc() > $r # display registers %rax = 0x0000000000000000 %r8 = 0x0000000000000000 %rbx = 0xffff80ffbf7f8e70 %r9 = 0x0000000000000000 %rcx = 0x0000000000000000 %r10 = 0x0000000000000000 %rdx = 0xffff80ffbffff718 %r11 = 0xffff80ffbf537db8 %rsi = 0xffff80ffbffff708 %r12 = 0x0000000000000000 %rdi = 0x0000000000400cf8 %r13 = 0x0000000000000000 %r14 = 0x0000000000000000 %r15 = 0x0000000000000000 %cs = 0x0053 %fs = 0x0000 %gs = 0x0000 %ds = 0x0000 %es = 0x0000 %ss = 0x004b %rip = 0x0000000000400c70 hello_asm %rbp = 0xffff80ffbffff6e0 %rsp = 0xffff80ffbffff6c8 %rflags = 0x00000282 id=0 vip=0 vif=0 ac=0 vm=0 rf=0 nt=0 iopl=0x0 status=<of,df,IF,tf,SF,zf,af,pf,cf> %gsbase = 0x0000000000000000 %fsbase = 0xffff80ffbf782a40 %trapno = 0x3 %err = 0x0 > ::dis # disassemble the current instructions hello_asm: movq %rdi,%rsi hello_asm+3: leaq 0x400c90,%rdi hello_asm+0xb: call -0x220 <PLT:printf> hello_asm+0x10: ret 0x400c81: nop 0x400c85: nop 0x400c88: nop 0x400c8c: nop 0x400c90: pushq %rsp 0x400c91: pushq $0x74732065 0x400c96: jb +0x69 <0x400d01> > 0x0000000000400cf8/S # %rdi contains Parameter 1 0x400cf8: Hello, World! > [ # Step and execute 1 instruction mdb: target stopped at: hello_asm+3: leaq 0x400c90,%rdi > [ mdb: target stopped at: hello_asm+0xb: call -0x220 <PLT:printf> > [ The string is: Hello, World!. mdb: target stopped at: hello_asm+0x10: ret > [ mdb: target stopped at: main+0x19: movl $0x0,-0x4(%rbp) > :c # continue program execution mdb: target has terminated > $q # quit the MDB debugger $ In the example above, at the start of function hello_asm(), I display the stack contents with "$C", display the registers contents with "$r", then disassemble the current function with "::dis". The first function parameter, which is a C string, is passed by reference with the string address in %rdi (see the register usage chart above). The address is 0x400cf8, so I print the value of the string with the "/S" MDB command: "0x0000000000400cf8/S". I can also print the contents at an address in several other formats. Here's a few popular formats. For more, see the mdb(1) man page for details. address/S C string address/C ASCII character (1 byte) address/E unsigned decimal (8 bytes) address/U unsigned decimal (4 bytes) address/D signed decimal (4 bytes) address/J hexadecimal (8 bytes) address/X hexadecimal (4 bytes) address/B hexadecimal (1 bytes) address/K pointer in hexadecimal (4 or 8 bytes) address/I disassembled instruction Finally, I step through each machine instruction with the "[" command, which steps over functions. If I wanted to enter a function, I would use the "]" command. Then I continue program execution with ":c", which continues until the program terminates. MDB Basic Cheat Sheet Here's a brief cheat sheet of some of the more common MDB commands useful for assembly debugging. There's an entire set of macros and more powerful commands, especially some for debugging the Solaris kernel, but that's beyond the scope of this example. $C Display function stack with pointers $c Display function stack $e Display external function names $v Display non-zero variables and registers $r Display registers ::fpregs Display floating point (or "media" registers). Includes %st, %xmm, and %ymm registers. ::status Display program status ::run Run the program (followed by optional command line parameters) $q Quit the debugger address:b Set a breakpoint address:d Delete a breakpoint $b Display breakpoints :c Continue program execution after a breakpoint [ Step 1 instruction, but step over function calls ] Step 1 instruction address::dis Disassemble instructions at an address ::events Display events Further Information "Assembly Language Techniques for Oracle Solaris on x86 Platforms" by Paul Lowik (2004). • Why do my LWJGL fonts have dots and lines around them?

    - by Jordan
    When we render fonts there are weird dots and lines around the text. I have no idea why this would happen. Here is an image of what it looks like: Our font class looks like this: package me.NJ.ComputerTycoon.Font; import me.NJ.ComputerTycoon.BaseObjects.UDim2; import org.lwjgl.opengl.Display; import org.newdawn.slick.Color; import org.newdawn.slick.TrueTypeFont; public class Font { public TrueTypeFont font; private int fontSize = 18; private String fontName = "Calibri"; private int fontStyle = java.awt.Font.BOLD; public Font(String fontName, int fontStyle, int fontSize) { font = new TrueTypeFont(new java.awt.Font(fontName, fontStyle, fontSize), true); //font. } public Font(int fontStyle, int fontSize) { font = new TrueTypeFont(new java.awt.Font(fontName, fontStyle, fontSize), true); } public Font(int fontSize) { font = new TrueTypeFont(new java.awt.Font(fontName, fontStyle, fontSize), true); } public Font() { font = new TrueTypeFont(new java.awt.Font(fontName, fontStyle, fontSize), true); } public void drawString(int x, int y, String s, Color color){ this.font.drawString(x, y, s, color); } public void drawString(int x, int y, String s){ this.font.drawString(x, y, s); } public void drawString(float x, float y, String s, Color color){ this.font.drawString(x, y, s, color); } public void drawString(float x, float y, String s){ this.font.drawString(x, y, s); } public void drawString(UDim2 udim, String s){ this.font.drawString((Display.getWidth() * udim.getX().getScale()) + udim.getX().getOffset(), (Display.getHeight() * udim.getY().getScale()) + udim.getY().getOffset(), s); } public String getFontName(){ return this.fontName; } public int getFontSize(){ return this.fontSize; } public TrueTypeFont getFont(){ return this.font; } } What could be causing this?

  • how to think like a computer scientist java edition exercise 7.2 [on hold]

    - by James Canfield
    I cannot figure out how to write this program, can someone please help me?! The purpose of this method is to practice manipulating St rings. Create a new program called Name.java. This program will take a name string consisting of EITHER a first name followed by a last name (nonstandar d format) or a last name followed by a comma then a first name (standard format). Ie . “Joe Smith” vs. “Smith, Joe”. This program will convert the string to standard format if it is not already in standard format. Write a method called hasComma that takes a name as an argument and that returns a boolean indicating whether it contains a comma. If i t does, you can assume that it is in last name first format. You can use the indexOf String m ethod to help you. Write a method called convertName that takes a name as an argument. It should check whether it contains a comma by calling your hasComma method. If it does, it should just return the string. If not, then it should assume th at the name is in first name first format, and it should return a new string that contains the name converted to last name comma first format. Uses charAt, length, substring, and indexOf methods. In your main program, loop, asking the user for a n ame string. If the string is not blank, call convertName and print the results. The loop terminat es when the string is blank. HINTS/SUGGESTIONS: Use the charAt, length, substring, and indexOf Str ing methods. Use scanner for your input. To get the full line, complete with spaces, use reader.nextLine()

  • Adding and accessing custom sections in your C# App.config

    - by deadlydog
    So I recently thought I’d try using the app.config file to specify some data for my application (such as URLs) rather than hard-coding it into my app, which would require a recompile and redeploy of my app if one of our URLs changed.  By using the app.config it allows a user to just open up the .config file that sits beside their .exe file and edit the URLs right there and then re-run the app; no recompiling, no redeployment necessary. I spent a good few hours fighting with the app.config and looking at examples on Google before I was able to get things to work properly.  Most of the examples I found showed you how to pull a value from the app.config if you knew the specific key of the element you wanted to retrieve, but it took me a while to find a way to simply loop through all elements in a section, so I thought I would share my solutions here.   Simple and Easy The easiest way to use the app.config is to use the built-in types, such as NameValueSectionHandler.  For example, if we just wanted to add a list of database server urls to use in my app, we could do this in the app.config file like so: 1: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> 2: <configuration> 3: <configSections> 4: <section name="ConnectionManagerDatabaseServers" type="System.Configuration.NameValueSectionHandler" /> 5: </configSections> 6: <startup> 7: <supportedRuntime version="v4.0" sku=".NETFramework,Version=v4.5" /> 8: </startup> 9: <ConnectionManagerDatabaseServers> 10: <add key="localhost" value="localhost" /> 11: <add key="Dev" value="Dev.MyDomain.local" /> 12: <add key="Test" value="Test.MyDomain.local" /> 13: <add key="Live" value="Prod.MyDomain.com" /> 14: </ConnectionManagerDatabaseServers> 15: </configuration>   And then you can access these values in code like so: 1: string devUrl = string.Empty; 2: var connectionManagerDatabaseServers = ConfigurationManager.GetSection("ConnectionManagerDatabaseServers") as NameValueCollection; 3: if (connectionManagerDatabaseServers != null) 4: { 5: devUrl = connectionManagerDatabaseServers["Dev"].ToString(); 6: }   Sometimes though you don’t know what the keys are going to be and you just want to grab all of the values in that ConnectionManagerDatabaseServers section.  In that case you can get them all like this: 1: // Grab the Environments listed in the App.config and add them to our list. 2: var connectionManagerDatabaseServers = ConfigurationManager.GetSection("ConnectionManagerDatabaseServers") as NameValueCollection; 3: if (connectionManagerDatabaseServers != null) 4: { 5: foreach (var serverKey in connectionManagerDatabaseServers.AllKeys) 6: { 7: string serverValue = connectionManagerDatabaseServers.GetValues(serverKey).FirstOrDefault(); 8: AddDatabaseServer(serverValue); 9: } 10: }   And here we just assume that the AddDatabaseServer() function adds the given string to some list of strings.  So this works great, but what about when we want to bring in more values than just a single string (or technically you could use this to bring in 2 strings, where the “key” could be the other string you want to store; for example, we could have stored the value of the Key as the user-friendly name of the url).   More Advanced (and more complicated) So if you want to bring in more information than a string or two per object in the section, then you can no longer simply use the built-in System.Configuration.NameValueSectionHandler type provided for us.  Instead you have to build your own types.  Here let’s assume that we again want to configure a set of addresses (i.e. urls), but we want to specify some extra info with them, such as the user-friendly name, if they require SSL or not, and a list of security groups that are allowed to save changes made to these endpoints. So let’s start by looking at the app.config: 1: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> 2: <configuration> 3: <configSections> 4: <section name="ConnectionManagerDataSection" type="ConnectionManagerUpdater.Data.Configuration.ConnectionManagerDataSection, ConnectionManagerUpdater" /> 5: </configSections> 6: <startup> 7: <supportedRuntime version="v4.0" sku=".NETFramework,Version=v4.5" /> 8: </startup> 9: <ConnectionManagerDataSection> 10: <ConnectionManagerEndpoints> 11: <add name="Development" address="Dev.MyDomain.local" useSSL="false" /> 12: <add name="Test" address="Test.MyDomain.local" useSSL="true" /> 13: <add name="Live" address="Prod.MyDomain.com" useSSL="true" securityGroupsAllowedToSaveChanges="ConnectionManagerUsers" /> 14: </ConnectionManagerEndpoints> 15: </ConnectionManagerDataSection> 16: </configuration>   The first thing to notice here is that my section is now using the type “ConnectionManagerUpdater.Data.Configuration.ConnectionManagerDataSection” (the fully qualified path to my new class I created) “, ConnectionManagerUpdater” (the name of the assembly my new class is in).  Next, you will also notice an extra layer down in the <ConnectionManagerDataSection> which is the <ConnectionManagerEndpoints> element.  This is a new collection class that I created to hold each of the Endpoint entries that are defined.  Let’s look at that code now: 1: using System; 2: using System.Collections.Generic; 3: using System.Configuration; 4: using System.Linq; 5: using System.Text; 6: using System.Threading.Tasks; 7:  8: namespace ConnectionManagerUpdater.Data.Configuration 9: { 10: public class ConnectionManagerDataSection : ConfigurationSection 11: { 12: /// <summary> 13: /// The name of this section in the app.config. 14: /// </summary> 15: public const string SectionName = "ConnectionManagerDataSection"; 16: 17: private const string EndpointCollectionName = "ConnectionManagerEndpoints"; 18:  19: [ConfigurationProperty(EndpointCollectionName)] 20: [ConfigurationCollection(typeof(ConnectionManagerEndpointsCollection), AddItemName = "add")] 21: public ConnectionManagerEndpointsCollection ConnectionManagerEndpoints { get { return (ConnectionManagerEndpointsCollection)base[EndpointCollectionName]; } } 22: } 23:  24: public class ConnectionManagerEndpointsCollection : ConfigurationElementCollection 25: { 26: protected override ConfigurationElement CreateNewElement() 27: { 28: return new ConnectionManagerEndpointElement(); 29: } 30: 31: protected override object GetElementKey(ConfigurationElement element) 32: { 33: return ((ConnectionManagerEndpointElement)element).Name; 34: } 35: } 36: 37: public class ConnectionManagerEndpointElement : ConfigurationElement 38: { 39: [ConfigurationProperty("name", IsRequired = true)] 40: public string Name 41: { 42: get { return (string)this["name"]; } 43: set { this["name"] = value; } 44: } 45: 46: [ConfigurationProperty("address", IsRequired = true)] 47: public string Address 48: { 49: get { return (string)this["address"]; } 50: set { this["address"] = value; } 51: } 52: 53: [ConfigurationProperty("useSSL", IsRequired = false, DefaultValue = false)] 54: public bool UseSSL 55: { 56: get { return (bool)this["useSSL"]; } 57: set { this["useSSL"] = value; } 58: } 59: 60: [ConfigurationProperty("securityGroupsAllowedToSaveChanges", IsRequired = false)] 61: public string SecurityGroupsAllowedToSaveChanges 62: { 63: get { return (string)this["securityGroupsAllowedToSaveChanges"]; } 64: set { this["securityGroupsAllowedToSaveChanges"] = value; } 65: } 66: } 67: }   So here the first class we declare is the one that appears in the <configSections> element of the app.config.  It is ConnectionManagerDataSection and it inherits from the necessary System.Configuration.ConfigurationSection class.  This class just has one property (other than the expected section name), that basically just says I have a Collection property, which is actually a ConnectionManagerEndpointsCollection, which is the next class defined.  The ConnectionManagerEndpointsCollection class inherits from ConfigurationElementCollection and overrides the requied fields.  The first tells it what type of Element to create when adding a new one (in our case a ConnectionManagerEndpointElement), and a function specifying what property on our ConnectionManagerEndpointElement class is the unique key, which I’ve specified to be the Name field. The last class defined is the actual meat of our elements.  It inherits from ConfigurationElement and specifies the properties of the element (which can then be set in the xml of the App.config).  The “ConfigurationProperty” attribute on each of the properties tells what we expect the name of the property to correspond to in each element in the app.config, as well as some additional information such as if that property is required and what it’s default value should be. Finally, the code to actually access these values would look like this: 1: // Grab the Environments listed in the App.config and add them to our list. 2: var connectionManagerDataSection = ConfigurationManager.GetSection(ConnectionManagerDataSection.SectionName) as ConnectionManagerDataSection; 3: if (connectionManagerDataSection != null) 4: { 5: foreach (ConnectionManagerEndpointElement endpointElement in connectionManagerDataSection.ConnectionManagerEndpoints) 6: { 7: var endpoint = new ConnectionManagerEndpoint() { Name = endpointElement.Name, ServerInfo = new ConnectionManagerServerInfo() { Address = endpointElement.Address, UseSSL = endpointElement.UseSSL, SecurityGroupsAllowedToSaveChanges = endpointElement.SecurityGroupsAllowedToSaveChanges.Split(',').Where(e => !string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(e)).ToList() } }; 8: AddEndpoint(endpoint); 9: } 10: } This looks very similar to what we had before in the “simple” example.  The main points of interest are that we cast the section as ConnectionManagerDataSection (which is the class we defined for our section) and then iterate over the endpoints collection using the ConnectionManagerEndpoints property we created in the ConnectionManagerDataSection class.   Also, some other helpful resources around using app.config that I found (and for parts that I didn’t really explain in this article) are: How do you use sections in C# 4.0 app.config? (Stack Overflow) <== Shows how to use Section Groups as well, which is something that I did not cover here, but might be of interest to you. How to: Create Custom Configuration Sections Using Configuration Section (MSDN) ConfigurationSection Class (MSDN) ConfigurationCollectionAttribute Class (MSDN) ConfigurationElementCollection Class (MSDN)   I hope you find this helpful.  Feel free to leave a comment.  Happy Coding!

  • Can't change folder background

    - by newcomer
    I tried to change via dragging from the Backgrounds and Emblems window, but the icon just goes back to that window rather than changing the folder background.However, I can change the task bar by this drag-n-drop. Probably it is something about changing ownership permission? if so how to change that?
