You can see your wireless access point, but you cannot establish a connection. You want to analyze the problem, but you don't know where to start or what information you can provide. • Identify "non-secure" content IE warns about [on hold]

  As many know, if you serve a page over https and the content loads resources (images, stylesheets, js, SWF objects, etc) over http, older versions of Internet Explorer will show the user a warning saying "This page contains both secure and non-secure items". This is discomforting to many non-technical users. Usually, I can look at the HTML source and identify which item(s) are triggering this error. Sometimes a Flash object will load something else or some embedded javascript will put a new object in the DOM and trigger this. What tools are good for quickly tracking down the source of the warning?

• Google Webmaster Tools Index dropped to Zero [closed]

  Earlier this year I rebuilt my website using ZenCart. Immediately I saw a drop in index status from 59 to 0. I then signed up for Google Webmaster Tools and noticed the Index status took a dramatic drop and has never recovered. I have worked to add content and I know I am not done, but have not seen any recovery of this index since. What confuses me is when I look at the sitemap status under Optimization it shows me there are 1239 submitted and 1127 pages indexed. Most of my pages have fallen off page one for relevant search terms and some are as far back as page 7 or 8 where they used to be on the first page. I have made some changes in the past week to robots.txt and sitemap.xml, but have not seen any improvements. Can anyone tell me what might be going on here? My website is andersonpens.net. Thanks! • Minecraft becomes blank after loading

  I have Minecraft installed but whenever I open it, it shows the login screen, so I login, and then when I click login, the window turns black. When I tried to play in in browser, the same thing happened except the window turned whit. Please help guys! I feel like I've tried EVERYTHING! It enjoy the look on audience faces when they see the app actually work on actual device. I see a great opportunity on WP7 and everyone I met agrees on the fact the WP7 has a very bright future ahead. The Ecosystem which WP7 has (developing/ debugging tools, emulator, almost flat learning curve,  office/sharepoint integration a lively forum, marketplace) makes it a major player in mobile, already. • Web stalker has purchased a domain name that uses my personal name, web page is defamatory [closed]

  We have been unsuccessful in persuading a stalker's website host to release the domain name he purchased which is my own personal name, e.g., PERSONALNAME.com. You will find my name below in the signature area. Look for yourself. On the one page that this domain name leades to is dreadful and defamatory material. No attorney has felt it worth their time to chase this issue down, and we cannot afford to go to a national or international dispute resolution group to bring this issue to WHOIS. Worse, the stalker is amoral and a psychopath: he would just love the attention. We've even consider trying to find someone to illegally hack into the webpage to at least redirect the domain pointers to my own professional website. This issue has continued now for two years and is affecting my professional reputations as potential clients have looked for me online. Is there any remedy? Your help and advice would be greatly welcomed.

• What would be the most efficient use of e-mail addresses for ecommerce

  I am not sure if this is exactly the right section. What do you find the most efficient, clear and reachable use of e-mail addresses to use for the customer? I thought a standard 'sales, 'support' might work but it might look a little samey. Do users respond well when e-mails are replied by staff with named e-mail addresses such as [email protected] or a generic one? I am currently developing a small scale ecommerce website to gain some hands on insight into web retail. Any additional advice would be brilliant.

• How much C/C++ knowledge is needed for Objective-C/iPhone development?

  First, a little background. I'm a .Net developer (C#) and have over 5 years experience in both web development and desktop applications. I've been wanting to look into iPhone development for some time now, but for one reason or another always got side tracked. I finally have a potential project on the horizon, and I'm now going full steam ahead learning this stuff. My question is this: I haven't done any C/C++ programming since my schooling days, I've been living in managed land ever since. How much knowledge if any is needed to be successful as an iOS developer? Obviously memory management is something that I'll have to be conscious about (although with iOS 5 there seems to be something called ARC which should make my life easier), but what else? I'm not just talking about the C API (for example, in order to get the sin of a number, I call the sin() function), that's what Google is for. I'm talking about fundamental C/C++ idioms that the average C# developer is unaware of.

If this is the wrong place to ask this, however, please let me know - I will personally delete the thread. I am in the process of downloading a single license for Visual Studio 2013 for my firm of 2-3 developers. One license is approximately $498.00 USD. As a small firm, our funds are short, but since we will be creating commercial software, we decided we will be needing the features of the Professional edition. At the same time, our decision is to use the Express edition for the rest of the two developers. My question is - will there be compatibility issues between Express projects and Professional projects for Visual Studio?

I've already won some work from a local company doing C# development and quoting an hourly rate for work that i am doing from my office. However on one upcoming project I've been asked to come on-site (client office) to work a full week. Is it reasonable to charge more than my regular hourly rate for working on site? And how should i justify the extra charges?
