Make JQuery UI Dialog automatically grow HEIGHT to fit its contents (width remains static)

Having looked into How can I make a JQuery UI Dialog automatically grow or shrink to fit its contents?, I am using the height: "auto" option when building a jQuery modal dialog box: $( "#dialog-message" ).dialog({ autoOpen: false, width: "400", height: "auto", show: "slide", modal: true, buttons: { Ok: function() { $( this ).dialog( "close" ); } } }); However, the height isn't "growing" to fit all of the contents. I'm still seeing a vertical scrollbar as in this image: Is there a way right in the definition code I listed to ensure that the height grows enough so that a vertical scrollbar doesn't show? Or, do I need to do this programmatically before opening the dialog box? Edit 1 Not sure why, but Chrome is displaying this fine but IE 8 isn't. I need it to specifically work in IE 8 so I believe I'm just going to put a bottom margin on the text.

indicate tuncation in ToolTipStatusLabel automatically

I have a .NET application with a StatusStrip holding three ToolTipStatusLabels. The Text of the labels are filled from the application as they show the status. For some circumstances they can hold an empty text. When I resize the window, the ToolTipStatusLabels are hidden when they cannot be fit in the StatusStrip. I would like to have the text truncated when the label cannot be fit in the StatusStrip. The default behavior to hide the label makes it difficult to distinguish between empty text or hidden label. To indicate that the text is truncated automatically, this should be indicated with an ellipsis (...). How can this be done?

SQL Server Service Broker Service Disappearing (Automatically Deleted)?

I've implemented a messaging system over SQL Server Service Broker. It is working great, with the sole exception that every once in a while (maybe once per week per server) my initiator service just vanishes without a trace. The corresponding queue is still there, but the service is missing. Obviously this causes problems in my system. It's a simple matter to recreate the service by hand, but I'm confused as to what might cause this behavior. I understand that automatic poison message handling causes queues to be disabled, but I don't see anything that indicates services can be disabled or deleted automatically. When this happens, I usually have a large backlog of messages in multiple application queues, but nothing extreme. Total message backlog is around 200,000. Does anyone know what might be happening here?

I have a DropDownlist in the GridView, which should be visible only when edit is clicked. I have bound the DropDownList from code behind. When I click on Edit, the label value of that cell should automatically get selected in the DropDownList. I am facing a very strange problem. I have javascript function in my aspx page that i call on the onclick event.but on one particular machine it always automatically called on body onload in infinite loop. Though I already remove all the caching and delte the history and temp files. This seems very strange to me .It works fine on all the machine excpt one. The machine have windows 7 and IE verison 8.0.7600.16385 Can some one please help me. Thanks in advance.

I have an entity model that has audit information on every table (50+ tables) CreateDate CreateUser UpdateDate UpdateUser Currently we are programatically updating audit information. Ex: if(changed){ entity.UpdatedOn = DateTime.Now; entity.UpdatedBy = Environment.UserName; context.SaveChanges(); } But I am looking for a more automated solution. During save changes, if an entity is created/updated I would like to automatically update these fields before sending them to the database for storage. Any suggestion on how i could do this? Let me know if any more information is needed.

Visual Studio Add-in Exec running Automatically

Hey guys, I have a dilemma that I am uncertain about, as I not sure if it's is exactly possible for a Visual Studio Add-in to run its code automatically. I need an add-in that can run passively, like a logger for Visual Studios. However, the Exec method that I know so far can only execute commandbar functionality, but I need the code to execute when the user right-clicks, or select a line of text. I was able to make an automatic logger if i put my code in the "querystatus", but that would be considered bad programming, and it does not log when I simply select a piece of text. Does anyone know how to make a passive or automatic running code in Visual Studios?

Use deployJava.js to check for/automatically install latest JRE version for web applet

I'd like to use the deployJava.js tool to have Java automatically detect the currently installed JRE and install an updated version if necessary. My initial impression when reading about deployJava.js was that it would do this out of the box when you simply set a version number as a function parameter for the "runApplet" function. But this has never seemed to work. Is it even possible to do this, and if so, how? Is it possible to optimize maven dependencies automatically?

I am working on a big project that consists of about 40 sub-projects with very not optimized dependencies. There are declared dependencies that are not in use as well as used but undeclared dependencies. The second case is possible when dependency is added via other dependency. I want to remove redundant and add required dependencies. I ran mvn dependency:analyze and got a long list of warnings I have to fix now. I wonder whether there is maven plugin or any other utility that can update my pom.xml files automatically. I tried to do it manually but it takes a lot of time. It seems it will take a couple of days of copy/paste to complete the task. In worse case I can write such script myself but probably ready stuff exists? I need to automate the process of downloading and installing an exe file abc.exe from say 'http://10.34.45.21:8080/cruisecontrol/artifacts/xxx_trunk_nightly_build/xxx/test/' I mean now i have to manually goto ''http://10.34.45.21:8080/cruisecontrol' then click on each folder before i finally click on the abc.exe file. Then it downloads the exe on my machine. Then i have to double click on the exe to install it. I want to automate this whole process such that when i run the script it will automatically download the exe file and install it. Is it possible to do this using php? I am very much a beginner. Any help will be of use.

My client deals with government contracting so their website needs to be compatible with IE 8 and IE 7. I am using Modernizr with html5shiv built in. I am loading Modernizr in the footer of a WordPress theme that was custom built for this project. I'm not missing a doctype or any other obvious code. TeamCity build triggers don't automatically run

I've been playing around with and learning a bit about TeamCity and have the server correctly set up with my .Net MVC project committed in Subversion successfully and build configurations and triggers sorted to kick off when any changes are committed to the repository. TeamCity polls on its default time period and is picking up that changes have been committed, but it is adding these to the queue without actually ever running them. I have to manually click the "Run" button to kick them off. What setting do I need to change in order to ensure that any new changes are automatically run?

Hello GNU 23.1.1 By clicking the F5 button I can compile my project. However, I want to extend this so that any unsaved work would be saved and then compiled. Normally I just do C-x-s to save then click F5. But can I add a line that will save without having to ask me do I want to save then it will compile, all done automatically? ; Compile program using <F5> ; Save all unsaved files here, then compile (global-set-key [f5] 'compile) Hope you understand me? Eclipse buildpath automatically taking all JARs of a internal directory

How do I configure my project buildpath to have a set of .jar files located in the same directory automatically included in the buildpath ? Meaning that adding a new .jar file to this directory (and refreshing the project) updates the buildpath ? Rem : I am not working in a Webapp but in a standalone Java app. I know that it is possible in a Dynamic Web Project to have all the .jars located in WEB-INF/lib to be included in the build path. Is it possible to do kind of the same include but in standalone app ? I am using Eclipse 3.4

Automatically Add a Prefix to Column Names for @Embeddable Classes

I am developing a project in which I am persisting some POJOs by adding Hibernate annotations. One problem I am running into is that code like this fails, as Hibernate tries to map the sub-fields within the Time_T onto the same column (i.e. startTime.sec and stopTime.sec both try to map to the colum sec, causing an error). @Entity public class ExampleClass { @Id long eventId; Time_T startTime; Time_T stopTime; } @Embeddable public class Time_T { int sec; int nsec; } As there will be many occurrences like this throughout the system, it would be nice if there was an option to automatically append a prefix to the column name (e.g. make the columns be startTime_sec, startTime_nsec, stopTime_sec, stopTime_nsec), without having to apply overrides on a per-field basis. Does Hibernate have this capability, or is there any other reasonable work-around?

prevent form from automatically re-submitting on page load

I am using jQuery to point a form's target to an iframe on .submit(). This is to upload a file. It works fine, but when the page reloads, and the iframe is appended to the DOM, the iframe automatically resubmits the form, causing the same file to be sent to the server on each page load. If I do not include the iframe in the HTML markup, or do not append it to the DOM, this doesn't happen, but of course, I need the iFrame. So my question is, how can i prevent this? :) Andrew

It is not possible to fire an event in C# that has no handlers attached to it. So before each call it is necessary to check if the event is null. if ( MyEvent != null ) { MyEvent( param1, param2 ); } I would like to keep my code as clean as possible and get rid of those null checks. I don't think it will affect performance very much, at least not in my case. MyEvent( param1, param2 ); Right now I solve this by adding an empty inline handler to each event manually. This is error prone, since I need to remember to do that etc. void Initialize() { MyEvent += new MyEvent( (p1,p2) => { } ); } Is there a way to generate empty handlers for all events of a given class automatically using reflection and some CLR magic?

Can I use GNU Screen completely transparently/automatically?

Screen is amazing, of course, but I don't want to have to think about it. I often ssh to a machine, start doing a bunch of stuff, and then think "gosh, I wish I had thought to start a screen session before doing all that so I could reconnect to this from home later". I'd like to have screen automatically started whenever I log in to a machine. And when I get disconnected, I want to be able to immediately and simply reconnect without fussing with "screen -ls" and "screen -dr". I have a script that implements one solution to this problem which I'll post as an answer. I'm interested to see other approaches.

Automatically Host User Domains in Rails/Apache

Hi, I'm currently developing a user facing web application that gives each new user their own subdomain on the site, which is fine (using subdomain_fu), but is there a way to let a user map their own domain to this subdomain? I know how to do this manually through SSH-ing into the server and editing the Apache Vhosts file by hand, but is there a way to do this automatically so that a user simply enters their domain into a box on the site (obviously they'd have to change their own DNS elsewhere)? I'm using Ruby 1.8 and Rails 2.3.3 on top of Apache. Essentially letting; http://user.application.com/article-1 be accessed from http://userdomain.com/article-1 Thanks for any help!

I want to automatically run a class method defined in a base class on any derived class during the creation of the class. For instance: class Base(object): @classmethod def runme(): print "I am being run" def __metclass__(cls,parents,attributes): clsObj = type(cls,parents,attributes) clsObj.runme() return clsObj class Derived(Base): pass: What happens here is that when Base is created, ''runme()'' will fire. But nothing happens when Derived is created. The question is: How can I make ''runme()'' also fire when creating Derived. This is what I have thought so far: If I explicitly set Derived's metclass to Base's, it will work. But I don't want that to happen. I basically want Derived to use the Base's metaclass without me having to explicitly set it so.

height: auto does not work to automatically resize header

I'm trying to do a simple thing in CSS I have a header tag and inside that a couple of h tags. So, in order to have a responsive design I do height:auto; inside the header tag, so it will automatically stretch to contain the h tags. Right? But does not work, headeris just a line in the top of the page. t should stretch to contain the titles, right? What am I missing? Is it a good practice to put CSS in the h tags and not style header at all? So h tags will be like the header in user's eye? Thanks in advence Check it here

Save Values AUTOMATICALLY with NSUserDefaults

I have an app with two UITextFields, where the user enters an integer, and then a method is called with the values the user enters. But when I completely close the app, the values are deleted. I want to change it to save the value the user entered when it closes, and loads it up when the app is re-opened. I tried this with NSUserDefault, and it worked fine (with save and load button), but I want it to make it automatically, without pressing any buttons. I saw some other people do it with the basic methods in the AppDelegate.m, but I don't know anything about that, therefore I didn't understand it at all. I saw MANY tutorials online, but I didn't understand any of them, please help, and give a detailed answer, thanks :)
