• APC values randomly disappear

  I'm using APC for storing a map of class names to class file paths. Getting => class_paths Array ( [MCS\CMS\Helper\LayoutHelper] => /Users/mbl/Documents/Projects/mcs_ibob/core/trunk/src/MCS/CMS/Helper/LayoutHelper.php [MCS\CMS\Model\Spot] => /Users/mbl/Documents/Projects/mcs_ibob/core/trunk/src/MCS/CMS/Model/Spot.php ) Getting => class_paths {null} Many times the cached value will also be gone between page requests. What could be the reason for this? I'm using APC as an extension (PECL) running PHP 5.3.

• Performance of map overlay in conjunction with ItemizedOverlay is very poor

  I am trying to display one png (drawable) on a map in about 300 points. I am retrieving the coordinates from a Sqlite table, dumping them in a cursor. When I try to display them by parsing through the cursor, it takes for ever for the images to be drawn, about .5 second per image. I find that to be suspiciously slow, so some insight on how I can increase performance would help.   I created a windows explorer toolbar in C#. This toolbar is removed when uninstalling my applicaiton but it's still shown after unregistering (cached in explorer.exe). explorer.exe needs a restart in order toolbar to dissapear. How can I fix this by C# code?

• jQuery image hover color overlay

  I can't seem to find any examples of this having been done anywhere on the internet before but here is what I am going to attempt to do...I'm trying to go about the cleanest possible way of laying this out. So I have an image gallery where the images are all different sizes. I want to make it so that when you mouseover the image, it turns a shade of orange. Just a simple hover effect. I want to do this without using an image swap, otherwise I'd have to create an orange colored hover-image for each individual gallery image, I'd like this to be a bit more dynamic. My plan is just to position an empty div over the image absolutely with a background color, width and height 100% and opacity: 0. Then using jquery, on mouseover I'd have the opacity fade to 0.3 or so, and fade back to zero on mouseout. My question is, what would be the best way to layout the html and css to do this efficiently and cleanly. • Linq causes collection to disappear when trying to use OrderByDescending

  For background, I am using MongoDB and Rob Conery's linq driver. The code I am attempting is thus: using (var session = new Session<ContentItem>()) { var contentCollection = session.QueryCollection.Where(x => x.CreatedOn < DateTime.Now).OrderByDescending(y => y.CreatedOn).ToList(); ViewData.Model = contentCollection; } this will work on one machine, but on another machine I get back no results. To get results i have to do using (var session = new Session<ContentItem>()) { var contentCollection = session.QueryCollection.Where(x => x.CreatedOn < DateTime.Now).ToList(); ViewData.Model = contentCollection.OrderByDescending(y => y.CreatedOn).ToList(); } I have to do ToList() on both lines, or no results. If I try to chain anything it breaks. This is the same project, all dll's are locally loaded. Both machines have the same framework, versions of Visual studio and addons. the only difference is one has VisualSVN the other AnkhSVN. I can't see those causing the problem. Also, while debugging, on the machine that does not work you can see the items in the collection, and if you remove ordering all together it will work. This has got me completely stumped.

I then moved the images outside and sure as Bob (Hope), the images were being retrieved and refreshed with every click. So, I decided to the keep the images outside and then once loaded, append it to the CampWindow . It's not working still; when I append the div to the main CampWindow div, the images won't show. I check in Firebug with the pointer thingy and it shows me the images as empty. I try it again with the images outside and it shows the images. I've tried before append and appendTo with no success. Am I missing something here? I have no more woohoo to claw out. • How to improve performance of map that loads new overlay images

  I have inherited a website to maintain that uses a html map overlaying a real map to link specific countries to specific pages. previously it loaded the default map image, then with some javascript it would change the image src to an image with that particular country in a different colour on mouseover and reset the image source back to the original image on mouse out to make maintenance (adding new countries) easier i made the initial map a background image by utilising some CSS for the div tag, and then created new images for each country which only had that countries hightlight so that the images remain fairly small. this works great but theres one issue which is particularly noticeable on slower internet connections when you hover over a country if you dont have the image file in your browser cache or downloaded it wont load the image unless you hover over another country and then back onto the first country - i guess this is due to the image having to manually be downloaded on first hover. My question: is it possible to force the load of these extra images AFTER the page and all the other assets have finished loading so that this behaviour is all but eliminated? the html code for the MAP is as follows: <div class="gtmap"><img id="Image-Maps_6200909211657061" src="<?php echo cdnhttpsCheck(); • Jquery UI Dialog Weird Behavior in Firefox - Whole screen becomes non-clickable on second overlay

  I have two links that show up two modal dialogs. These dialogs are static divs in the html of the page with their own ids. When I click the first link, the first dialog shows up and behaves correctly. But when I click the second link, the whole screen grays out and everything becomes unclickable, including the second dialog. It happens also the other way around, clicking the second link, and then the first link. This problems occurs only in Firefox but not in IE. Any ideas why this is happening in Firefox?

  Hi guys I have an instance where I have a logo image as part of some artwork.. If a user uploads a new logo I have a form field which is larger than the default logo. I then use that form field to position the new image. • Google Maps API v3 - Directions/Paths breaking KML Overlay Infowindows

  I'm in the end stages before content filling and then production on the Google Maps project I've been working on. A number of bugs and such have been thwarted, but this latest one has me relatively stumped. The demo map can be viewed here: http://dougglover.com/samples/finalProduct/ Everything works fine until you create a path using the Directions section(not to be confused with Get Directions). To reproduce the problem, play around with the map, click on a building or two, just to see the functionality. After ensuring that clicking on a building works(brings up an infowindow), choose two buildings to get directions to in the Directions area. It works great with the routing algorithm I've implemented, and the paths show up nicely, and intelligently. The problem being that you can't click buildings anymore to see their info. I'm assuming it has something to do with the z-index error popping up in the console, but I'm not sure how to handle that if it is the problem. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. :)

• opengl shader make color "disappear"

  hi, I'm new to opengl and shaders. I'm trying to do some augmented reality on the iphone and messing about with shaders to alter a feed from the camera. What I'm trying to achieve is the appearance that an object in a picture has disappeared by setting the color to match the surrounding colour. I have a yellow rectangle and in it is a small red circle. I want to give the impressed the red circle has disappeared by setting the colour to be yellow. It won't always be solid colours but I'm just trying to get the basics down first. Currently I have a simple shader which will make a red colour lighter but this isn't ideal because it doesn't get close to the surrounding colour and I want this to work for different coloured objects and different coloured surrounding. I'm not even 100% shaders are what I need to be looking at or even opengl. I'm using it because of the performance it gives on the iPhone. I'm basically asking if: Anyone has done or seen anything similar Am I barking up the wrong tree using opengl es and opengl sl? Is this even possible? Cheers.

• www disappear when using Name-based virtual host.

• Add view overlay to iPhone app

  I'm trying to do something like this: - (void)sectionChanged:(id)sender { [self.view addSubview:loadingView]; // Something slow [loadingView removeFromSuperview]; } where loadingView is a semi-transparent view with a UIActivityIndicatorView. However, it seems like added subview changes don't take effect until the end of this method, so the view is removed before it becomes visible. If I remove the removeFromSuperview statement, the view shows up properly after the slow processing is done and is never removed. Is there any way to get around this?

• My UL child label elements disappear in IE on accordion menu opening

  I've got an app that's working pretty flawlessly in Chrome and FF, however, when I view it in IE, all is well until I click on a header element to activate it (jQuery accordion). What happens then is that I see a brief flash where the content is there, then suddenly the entire left column disappears. This column is generated by a floated label element with a class of ".left" as seen below... <ul class="menu collapsible"> <li class='expand sectionTitle'><a href='#'>General Settings</a> <ul class='acitem'> <li class="section"> <label class="left">This item if floated left with a defined width of 190px via css. This is the item that's disappearing after a brief display</label> <input class="input" value="input element here" /> <label class="description">This element has a margin-left:212px; set via css in order to be positioned to the right of the label element as if in an adjacent table cell. When I add a max-width property to this element, it disappears in IE too!</label> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> As you can see from the comments in the code above (for the two label elements) the description label disappears once I set a max-width on it. It shows up fine otherwise.

• Custom add_action('save_post') causes html markup to disappear!

  I've added a custom "save_post" action to my theme (code is below). However, when I place images or video code in the post, its stripped away. The only way I can get it to stay is to comment out the add_action line. • Jobs magically disappear from queue (delayed_job mongoid 2 on heroku)

  lets say i do something like arrs = Article.where(:body => nil) i'll have arrs.count is let's say 900 and i do arrs.each do |ar| ar.delay.download_via_diffbot #a method that takes some time, does some http, and writes a non-nil value to ar.body end now i'll watch the logs, and a wait a few minutes on ~5 dynos do the jobs, and do a count again: arrs.count is now ~800 so wtf, i thought i just told my workers to do ~900 jobs, what happened to the other 800? i can confirm that i'm only making ~100 HTTP requests b/c the api reporting shows me this, also simply watching the logs is telling enough that 900 jobs are not happening.
