  • CMake: Mac OS X: ld: unknown option: -soname

    - by Alex Ivasyuv
    I try to build my app with CMake on Mac OS X, I get the following error: Linking CXX shared library libsml.so ld: unknown option: -soname collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[2]: *** [libsml.so] Error 1 make[1]: *** [CMakeFiles/sml.dir/all] Error 2 make: *** [all] Error 2 This is strange, as Mac has .dylib extension instead of .so. There's my CMakeLists.txt: cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 2.6) PROJECT (SilentMedia) SET(SourcePath src/libsml) IF (DEFINED OSS) SET(OSS_src ${SourcePath}/Media/Audio/SoundSystem/OSS/DSP/DSP.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/Audio/SoundSystem/OSS/Mixer/Mixer.cpp ) ENDIF(DEFINED OSS) IF (DEFINED ALSA) SET(ALSA_src ${SourcePath}/Media/Audio/SoundSystem/ALSA/DSP/DSP.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/Audio/SoundSystem/ALSA/Mixer/Mixer.cpp ) ENDIF(DEFINED ALSA) SET(SilentMedia_src ${SourcePath}/Utils/Base64/Base64.cpp ${SourcePath}/Utils/String/String.cpp ${SourcePath}/Utils/Random/Random.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/Container/FileLoader.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/Container/OGG/OGG.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/PlayList/XSPF/XSPF.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/PlayList/XSPF/libXSPF.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/PlayList/PlayList.cpp ${OSS_src} ${ALSA_src} ${SourcePath}/Media/Audio/Audio.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/Audio/AudioInfo.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/Audio/AudioProxy.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/Audio/SoundSystem/SoundSystem.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/Audio/SoundSystem/libao/AO.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/Audio/Codec/WAV/WAV.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/Audio/Codec/Vorbis/Vorbis.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/Audio/Codec/WavPack/WavPack.cpp ${SourcePath}/Media/Audio/Codec/FLAC/FLAC.cpp ) SET(SilentMedia_LINKED_LIBRARY sml vorbisfile FLAC++ wavpack ao #asound boost_thread-mt boost_filesystem-mt xspf gtest ) INCLUDE_DIRECTORIES( /usr/include /usr/local/include /usr/include/c++/4.4 /Users/alex/Downloads/boost_1_45_0 ${SilentMedia_SOURCE_DIR}/src ${SilentMedia_SOURCE_DIR}/${SourcePath} ) #link_directories( # /usr/lib # /usr/local/lib # /Users/alex/Downloads/boost_1_45_0/stage/lib #) IF(LibraryType STREQUAL "static") ADD_LIBRARY(sml-static STATIC ${SilentMedia_src}) # rename library from libsml-static.a => libsml.a SET_TARGET_PROPERTIES(sml-static PROPERTIES OUTPUT_NAME "sml") SET_TARGET_PROPERTIES(sml-static PROPERTIES CLEAN_DIRECT_OUTPUT 1) ELSEIF(LibraryType STREQUAL "shared") ADD_LIBRARY(sml SHARED ${SilentMedia_src}) # change compile optimization/debug flags # -Werror -pedantic IF(BuildType STREQUAL "Debug") SET_TARGET_PROPERTIES(sml PROPERTIES COMPILE_FLAGS "-pipe -Wall -W -ggdb") ELSEIF(BuildType STREQUAL "Release") SET_TARGET_PROPERTIES(sml PROPERTIES COMPILE_FLAGS "-pipe -Wall -W -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer") ENDIF() SET_TARGET_PROPERTIES(sml PROPERTIES CLEAN_DIRECT_OUTPUT 1) ENDIF() ### TEST ### IF(Test STREQUAL "true") ADD_EXECUTABLE (bin/TestXSPF ${SourcePath}/Test/Media/PlayLists/XSPF/TestXSPF.cpp) TARGET_LINK_LIBRARIES (bin/TestXSPF ${SilentMedia_LINKED_LIBRARY}) ADD_EXECUTABLE (bin/test1 ${SourcePath}/Test/test.cpp) TARGET_LINK_LIBRARIES (bin/test1 ${SilentMedia_LINKED_LIBRARY}) ADD_EXECUTABLE (bin/TestFileLoader ${SourcePath}/Test/Media/Container/FileLoader/TestFileLoader.cpp) TARGET_LINK_LIBRARIES (bin/TestFileLoader ${SilentMedia_LINKED_LIBRARY}) ADD_EXECUTABLE (bin/testMixer ${SourcePath}/Test/testMixer.cpp) TARGET_LINK_LIBRARIES (bin/testMixer ${SilentMedia_LINKED_LIBRARY}) ENDIF (Test STREQUAL "true") ### TEST ### ADD_CUSTOM_TARGET(doc COMMAND doxygen ${SilentMedia_SOURCE_DIR}/doc/Doxyfile) There was no error on Linux. How to fix it?

  • Equivalent to GetTickCount() on Linux

    - by Matt Joiner
I'm looking for an equivalent to GetTickCount() on Linux. Presently I am using Python's time.time() which presumably calls through to gettimeofday(). My concern is that the time returned (the unix epoch), may change erratically if the clock is messed with, such as by NTP. A simple process or system wall time, that only increases positively at a constant rate would suffice. Does any such time function in C or Python exist?

  • make always rebuild

    - by fsdfa
    My Makefile is: OBJS = b.o c.o a.o FLAGS = -Wall -Werror CC = gcc test: $(OBJS) $(CC) $(FLAGS) $(OBJS) -o a b.o: b.c b.h $(CC) $(FLAGS) -c b.c a.o: a.c b.h c.h $(CC) $(FLAGS) -c a.c c.o: c.c c.h $(CC) $(FLAGS) -c c.c clean: rm a rm *.o all: test If I do make then make again, it always rebuilds 'test'. Why does it do this?

  • How does one smooth an image used as a control skin?

    - by kevmoo
I'm embedding an image like this: [Embed(source="/tool_deleteUp.png")] private static const c_deleteButton_styleUp:Class; I'm using it like this: _removeButton = new Button(); _removeButton.setStyle('upSkin', c_deleteButton_styleUp); When I rotate the button, the image doesn't scale smoothly. I know the tricks one uses to scale an image loaded in an Image control, but I'm banging my head against a wall trying to figure out how to do it here. Help!

  • What is the correct terminology to describe a visual display that is about the size of a living room

    - by JW
I'm thinking that, as flat screens get bigger and cheaper it won't be too long before 'digital wallpaper'-like screens become popular in people's living rooms with a host of applications that could take advantage of this particular screen size/resolution. Is there a proper name for this size of screen? 'Wall Screen' - is too ambiguous 'Massive Screen' - is probably best reserved for something you'd put on the side of a sky scraper 'Small Screen' - nabbed by the mobiles 'Large Screen' - kind of means desktop I'm thinking of the kind of screen used in 'Minority Report'.

  • How do you compile without linking in Automake?

    - by MDH
I am new to Automake and I am attempting to compile without linking. My goal is to generate a simple Makefile as shown below using Automake. CFLAG = -Wall build: Thread.o Thread.o: Thread.cc Thread.h g++ $(CFLAG) -c Thread.cc clean: rm -f *.o My attempt so far has brought me to the following Makefile.ac. noinst_PROGRAMS = thread thread_SOURCES = Thread.cc EXTRA_DIST= Thread.h Does anyone have any advice on how to simulate my original Makefile? Thanks in advance.

  • Cannot place breakpoint in gdb in emacs

    - by Rowhawn
I'm trying to debug a small program I've written in C. I open up the file in emacs, M-x gdb, give the program filename (a.out). When i switch to the source file in the emacs pane, and try to place a breakpoint in the main function, I get the message "No default breakpoint address now." and the breakpoint doesn't place, so I can't debug the program. I'm compiling the program with the options gcc -Wall -ansi -pedantic-errors -Werror. Any ideas?

  • Flex Drawing Library

    - by Evgeny Nacu
Do you know any simple drawing libraries with align support (one component to other, also align to grid) I would like to implement simple editor of wall configuration in the apartments, by the way. Or, may be, there is no such component and is better to use Graphics class?

  • CS Majors: Hardest concept(s) you learned in school?

    - by Mark Lubin
For the CS majors out there what were the hardest CS classes or concepts that you learned in your undergraduate schooling? Did you find once you learned the basics,(data structs, OOP fundamentals, discrete math, pointers, recursion, etc) the rest followed naturally or did you hit a wall at any point in your higher classes like OS'es and Compilers? Thanks for the input!

  • Create form select from object containing values

    - by marks34
I have such an object : var options = {1: 'Running', 2: 'Falling', 3: 'Collapsing wall', 4: (...)}; I'd like to create form's select element with ooptions taken from this object, so something like that (code I tried which is not working, but you can get the idea) : html = '<form action="" ><select name="block-action"><option>-------</option>'; for(k in obj){ html += '<option value="'+k+'">'+obj[k]+'</option>' } html += '</select></form>'

  • C++: type Length from float

    - by anon
This is kinda like my earlier question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2451175/c-vector3-type-wall Except, now, I want to do this to a builtin rather then a user created type. So I want a type "Length" that behaves just like float -- except I'm going to make it's constructor explicit, so I have to explicitly construct Length objects (rather than have random conversions flying around). Basically, I'm going into the type-a-lot camp.
