• OpenLDAP server logs filled with "TLS negotiation failure"

  I recently migrated an old OpenLDAP setup to a newer server, with a more robust certificate setup. Currently, most hosts are required to verify the cert matches the host: tls_checkpeer yes TLS_REQCERT always In the server logs, there are multiple occurences of: Nov 6 10:45:08 <servername> slapd[1773]: conn=2785646 fd=35 closed (TLS negotiation failure) These errors appear from multiple hosts, but there don't seem to be any issues actually logging into those servers with an LDAP account. Does anyone know what would cause these errors? The server is running Ubuntu 12.04.2, and OpenLDAP version 2.4.28. The cert was generated using GnuTLS.

• Wireless DHCP doesn't work until wired Ethernet plugged in

  A client of mine has an Asus R1F tablet running Windows XP Tablet SP3. It has an Intel 3945ABG wireless card; wired Ethernet is a Realtek something-or-other. In the past few days, it's developed an odd problem: WiFi authenticates, but can't get an address via DHCP. plug in wired Ethernet - both interfaces get good addresses unplug cable, WiFi continues to work until shutdown. Next morning, repeat process. I've tried: turning WiFi off/on (there's a slider switch) disabling/re-enabling via Device Mangler uninstalling and reinstalling the driver for the 3945ABG... changing from Intel Pro/SET to Windows Wireless Zero Config (and back) restarting the router changing the static DHCP assignments at the router upgrading the router firmware, just on general principles The router/access point is pfSense 1.2.3RC1 (was 1.2.2); wireless card is Atheros-based. None of the 12 other users (5 with tablets) are having problems.

• VMWare shared folder out of sync

  After booting the guest system, the shared folders are in sync and all works well. But as soon, as I make a change to one of the files on my host system (Windows 7), the file on the guest system (Ubuntu) looses its last characters and still has the old version. So the actual change is not synced. However the version on the guest gets truncated. If I delete the file on the host and create a new one with new content, everything is in sync again. It all started happening when I updated VMWare player 6.0.1. And its happening for my Ubuntu guests only (Redhat works fine). How can I tell VMware tools to force a sync on the shared folders? I have Eset Nod32(Up to date) Anti Virus, but it couldn't find any thing. I've installed Microsoft Security Essential and it could find a virus. I remove it and I change my mail password. What happened to my Yahoo Mail Account and what should I do ? Edit : My email password was 12 characters and I couldn't remember it , so I'm using RoboForm. Is it possible that my Roboform password divulge. !!! Edit 2 : I've changed my yahoo mail password, but this morning I received Failure Notice for sending mail to some invalid mail addresses again, but there is a different this time, the sent mails didn't exist in my Sent Box. • Cacti is not monitoring the correct host... How do I change SNMP target?

  I have been handed a Cacti server that monitors a few hosts. I noticed that three of the targets were displaying the exact same data - the cacti machine, machine a and machine b. After doing a bit of digging, I noticed that machine a and machine b had "Local Linux Machine" set under "Host Template". I have since changed the host template to "Generic SNMP-enabled Host", however, all the graphs still only display data from the local cacti machine (Updates every 5 minutes - I changed this yesterday - 12 hours). I can't think what else is wrong and was wondering if anyone knows/can recommend anything?

For that to work, I need a removable storage device, or else it won't appear in LiveUSB Creator's list. Explorer lists my USB stick as a hard disk: LiveUSB Creator indeed doesn't show it in the device list: Is there any way of forcing Windows to see the stick as a removable storage device?

• Printing images with same orientation in Windows 7

  I have generated many graphs (GraphViz .dot, about 35 pcs) from a grammar and then I generated .png files from it. All of them are small graphs with a few (2 to 5) nodes on it. I would like to print them, 9 or 12 per page. The problem is that Windows 7 Print Pictures guesses orientation for every image on the grid individually. How can I force Windows 7 Print Pictures to use the same orientation for all pictures (use the files as-is, just do the fitting) What alternative solution can I use for my task which does not include repetitive manual labor? (OS: Windows 7 64 bit, regularly updated.) Thanks in advance!

  I'm running Windows 7 x64 on a system based on an Asus Z87-Deluxe motherboard; the storage is configured for RAID mode; there is a single SSD drive for the O.S. and two 4-TB disks in a RAID 1 setup for the data. I've installed the latest version of Intel's Rapid Storage Technology drivers, 12.8.0.1016. The program complains about its service not being running, and the service is actually stopped; if I try to start it, it crashes. I've already tried reinstalling the package, but nothing changed. All the disks work correctly, but the RST program is unusable. How can I fix this?

• Reconnect Attempts for CIFS share

  I have a CIFS share mounted in the FSTAB on Ubuntu server, which connects to our SAN and works without issue. Last night we had an issue with the SAN for about 12 hours. We corrected the problem and the Windows boxes restored their mappings. The Ubuntu box did not, but we were able to restore with [mount -a]. I saw options to specify retries in man for NFS but not CIFS. Any ideas on ensuring a reconnect if the SAN goes down again?

  How do you enable ssh login on OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) for a user with an empty password? I've seen others asking this question, and like me it's for the same reason: a parent who can't deal with passwords. So "set a password" is not an option.   We have following setup: mountserver - debian linux fileserver1 - Windows 2008 R2 Storage server fileserver2 - Celerra NS20 exporting CIFS share workstation - windows 7 with mapped drive to share on fileserver2 What we are doing: mounted share from fileserver1 on mountserver, e.g. /shared/fileserver1 mounted share from fileserver2 on mountserver, e.g. /shared/fileserver2 ran rsync on mountserver to sync data from fileserver1 to fileserver2.Used atime as parameter to sync data not older than X after a while tried to delete data older that Y on /shared/fileserver2. From what I see, linux stat command on mountserver returns following when quering file on /shared/fileserver2: At the same time when I open property for the same file using mapped drive connected to fileserver2,I see following for the same file: As you can see, Created date of 12 August shown in Windows Explorer is nowhere to be seen using stat command Am I missing something here?

  I dont know when it started to happen. The screen will turn into full black when a page include javascript (I think so). I cannot open Youtube videos, but I can still see the source code and the pointer to find links and buttons and I can hear the sound of video.   Currently I am watching the live auth.log and someone is continuously trying the brute force attack for 10 hours. Its my local server so no need to worry but I want to test. I have installed denyhosts. There is already an entry for that IP address in hosts.deny. But still he is trying the attacks from same IP. System is not blocking that. Firstly I don't know how did that IP address get entered in that file. • Sharepoint database connection issue after upgrade to SQL Server 2008 R2

  I took a backup of all our Sharepoint WSS 3.0 databases and restored them to a new Windows 2008 R2 server. The new SQL server has the same name and IP address as the old one. The only difference between the two is the new one has SQL 2008 R2 and the old one has SQL 2005. When I navigate to the sharepoint url I get this error: Cannot connect to the configuration database. I checked the logs at this location: "%commonprogramfiles%/Microsoft Shared/web server extensions/12/Logs" and found this error: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication. Any ideas?

  I have vsftpd installed on Ubuntu 12.04LTS along with nginx, php, and sql on an Amazon ec2 instance. The web server is good to go, but I'm having trouble connecting to the FTP server. I'm not quite sure how to set the privileges or what configuration options I might be missing. By default, the location of the web root is at /usr/share/nginx/www and it is owned by root:root. The web server runs as user www-data in the group www-data. I've opened port 21 and set the passive ports in the ec2 backend and ufw firewall. In vsftpd.conf, I have: ... anonymous_enable=NO local_enable=YES local_umask=0027 chroot_local_user=YES pasv_enable=YES pas_max_port=12100 pasv_min_port=12000 port_enable=YES ... Now, I'm unsure how to create the FTP user that when I login, displays my web directory with write access. I've tried it a few different ways, but I keep running into errors (either no connection, no write access, or very slow timeouts.)

• Computer prints blank pages before and after content

  This would seem like a pretty simple question but I have exhausted every idea I can come up with. I bought a brand new Dell Latitude E5410 not too long ago with Windows 7 OS. I installed office 2010 on the machine right away and have had a printing problem since day one. For some reason every time I print a page, a blank page prints out before and after the content print. This also applies to any other application such as notepad or printing an email. If I have a 6 page document, it still prints out one page before and after every content page. Meaning I get my 6 page document along with 12 blank pages. I can't figure out why this would be some sort of default setting or what would cause this printing configuration. I am the only computer on the network that has this problem and quite frankly I'm getting tired of it. Can anyone help me figure this out or steer me in the right direction to correcting this problem?

• needs updated glibc package version 3.4.15 or later for RHEL6

  I want to upgrade my current running applications to latest version. But due to some package issue i am unable to install them. I get common error in that: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version 'GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found. When i tried to update glibc package i get following output: [root@agastya ~]# yum install glibc Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit, rhnplugin epel/metalink | 3.8 kB 00:00 epel | 4.3 kB 00:00 epel/primary_db | 5.0 MB 01:33 epel-testing/metalink | 3.8 kB 00:00 epel-testing | 4.3 kB 00:00 epel-testing/primary_db | 295 kB 00:03 rhel-x86_64-server-6 | 1.8 kB 00:00 rhel-x86_64-server-6/primary | 11 MB 02:02 rhel-x86_64-server-6 8816/8816 Setting up Install Process Package glibc-2.12-1.80.el6_3.6.x86_64 already installed and latest version Nothing to do [root@agastya ~]# Should i need to add some more repositories? If yes, how?

• Applying flattened css to xhtml

  Hi, I try to apply flattened css to xhtml (which get from websites). I am using css4j-0.12.1.jar (from http://www.informatica.info/projects/css/) to process the url html content. For a few urls the code seems to be hang. Even no exception is thrown. For a particular stylableelement or style code doesnot return any value and hangs. For a few websites code hang in, CSSStyleDeclaration.getPropertyValue(style); and for a few websites code hang in, CSSStylableElement.getComputedStyle(); I am using the latest jar. Could you please update me, is there any known issue or fix for this. I am not sure where to post this issue. If anyone knows please update me. Thanks in Advance.

• OpenOffice 3 takes forever to open

  I'm on Fedora 14, and OpenOffice 3.3.0 takes a long time to open (about 30 seconds, sometimes less). It isn't a CPU or disk performance issue, it's just simply a very long delay before the program opens. It appears to be a frivolous network connection timing out. According to Wireshark, it tries to look up: dulcimer.(none) which fails, after which it tries to look up: dulcimer.(none).mylitestream.com (dulcimer is my hostname, and LiteStream is my ISP) Is there a way to work around this bug in OpenOffice?
