  • GC generation 3 appearing in windbg

    I've a dump file of a process I'm running (trying to find a memory leak) One thing I've noticed is that when I dump the bigger objects via !do windbg tells me that they are GC generation 3 ?? All of these are byte arrays so when I look at all the byte arrays in the dump I can see GC generations 0, 1, 2 & 3. Could someone explain whats going on here as I thought there was only 3 generations of GC.

    I used it before, and was reminded of it when someone asked about a tool to strip unsused CSS from a stylsheet. I went back to the link, but it's gone, what happened to it?     I need a view to refresh automatically every 20 seconds, and have added the following code to the view header via the views GUI - with no success. The code (or portions of it) are simply displayed on the view and no updating is performed. I've tried omitting both and just the ending ?php statement.     I dont know why the sample application from the android website gives me 300+ errors when i try to run it in ecplise galileo. The application i am trying is Bluetoothchat it is straight from the sdk sample folder so it shouldn't contain any. I have added android.jar and I do have an emulator. While i was reading the source code of list in linux kernel, i saw something like that: #define LIST_HEAD_INIT(name) { &(name), &(name) } #define LIST_HEAD(name) \ struct list_head name = LIST_HEAD_INIT(name) (You can access the remaining part of the code from here.) I didn't understand the function of ampersands(I don't think they are the address of operands here) in LIST_HEAD_INIT and so the use of LIST_HEAD_INIT in the code. Pythagorean triplet is a set {a,b,c} such that a2 = b2 + c2. Example: for array [9, 2, 3, 4, 8, 5, 6, 10] the output of the algorithm should be {3, 4, 5} and {6, 8, 10}.

  • priority_queue with dynamic priorities

    Hey, I have a server application which accepts incomming queries and executes them. If there are too many queries they should be queued and if some of the other queries got executed the queued queries should be executed as well. Since I want to pass queries with different priorities I think using a priority_queue would be the best choice. e.g. The amout of the axcepting queries (a) hit the limt and new queries will be stored in the queue. All queries have a priority of 1 (lowest) if some of the queries from (a) get executed the programm will pick the query with the highest priority out of the queue and execute it. Still no problem. Now someone is sending a query with a priority of 5 which gets added to the queue. Since this is the query with the highest priority the application will execute this query as soon as the running queries no longer hit the limit. There might be the worst case that 500 queries with a priority of 1 are queued but wont be executed since someone is always sending queries with a priority of 5 hence these 500 queries will be queued for a looooong time. In order to prevent that I want to increase the prioritiy of all queries which have a lower priority than the query with the higher priority, in this example which have a priority lower than 5. So if the query with a priority of 5 gets pulled out of the queue all other queries with a priority < 5 should be increased by 0.2. This way queries with a low priority wont be queued for ever even if there might be 100 queries with a higher priority.     Hi All I have a Text File (Sorry, I'm not allowed to work on XML files :(), and it includes customer records. Each text file looks like: Account_ID: 98734BLAH9873 User Name: something_85 First Name: ILove Last Name: XML Age: 209 etc... And I need to be able to use LINQ to get the data from these text files and just store them in memory. I have seen many Linq to SQL, Linq to BLAH but nothing for Linq to Text.   • Should I use "User Defined Functions" in SQL server, or C#?

    I have a fairly complicated mathematical function that I've been advised should be implemented as a User Defined Function in SQL Server so that it can be used efficiently from within a SQL query. The problem is that it must be very efficient as it may be executed thousands of times per second, and I subsequently heard that UDFs are very inefficient. Someone suggested that I could implement the function in C# instead, and that this would be much more efficient. What should I do?
