• Which browsers support font embedding.

  I've been reading about the @font-face rule and trying to work out if it's worth using it in a project to render "franklin gothic medium" for title instead of something like sIfr. I figured that for browsers that don't support it I could make it fall back on Arial. The thing is that I'm having trouble getting a definitive answer about which browsers support embedding fonts in this way. So far I've worked out the IE does, but doesn't support .ttf files. Other browsers I'm not sure. If anyone could point me towards some kinf of compatibility chart that would be great. Jon

  I've got a links array that I'm saving to a database. The problem is that the records aren't saved in the order of the array ie links[1] is saved before links[2] and so on... • Uncaught TypeError: Converting circular structure to JSON

  We're using the fb:registration plugin to sign up users on our site. Today I noticed the registration redirect is no longer working in Google Chrome and Safari (latest public release). I know for sure it was working with the same code as recently as last week. It seems to be getting stuck on submission with this error, which is coming from: static.ak.fbcdn.net/rsrc.php/v1/ys/r/ioE9qOq_5Oa.js:101 Firefox and IE have no problem, so it seems to be Webkit specific. Any ideas?

• Teamcity NTLM Authentication change - admin user lost in transition

  I've switched in teamcity from using basic authentication to using NTLM, on an existing installation. This works fine, except that the admin user didn't have a corresponding NT account, and so doesn't work on the NTLM configuration. (It is easy to roll back, so it is not a stress). My question is - what is the command to set a user to admin manually - ie modifying the database? (like this: TeamCity forgotten admin password - where to look?) but changing the role of a user to global system administrator.

• Jquery UI Dialog Weird Behavior in Firefox - Whole screen becomes non-clickable on second overlay

  I have two links that show up two modal dialogs. These dialogs are static divs in the html of the page with their own ids. When I click the first link, the first dialog shows up and behaves correctly. But when I click the second link, the whole screen grays out and everything becomes unclickable, including the second dialog. It happens also the other way around, clicking the second link, and then the first link. This problems occurs only in Firefox but not in IE. Any ideas why this is happening in Firefox?

  Is it possible to use JAXB to unmarshall xml to a specific Java class based on an attribute of the xml? <shapes> <shape type="square" points="4" square-specific-attribute="foo" /> <shape type="triangle" points="3" triangle-specific-attribute="bar" /> </shapes> I would like to have a List of Shape objects containing a triangle and a square, each with their own shape-specific attribute. IE: abstract class Shape { int points; //...etc } class Square extends Shape { String square-specific-attribute; //...etc } class Triangle extends Shape { String triangle-specific-attribute; //...etc } I'm currently just putting all attributes in one big "Shape" class and it's less than ideal. I could get this to work if the shapes were properly named xml elements, but unfortunately I don't have control of the xml I'm retrieving. Thanks!

• Jquery SimpleModal flickers in Firefox

  I'm using SimpleModal plugin for Jquery and I have a weird problem with Firefox ( other browsers work fine: Chrome, Safari, Opera, IE). What happens is when I click on the button that launches the modal dialog, before showing the modal (and the fadeIn of the overlay), there is a quick "flicker", less than half a second. (It's longer on my slower PC). Weird thing is, it didn't happen in Firefox 3.5.2, but when I upgraded to 3.6.3, I got the flicker. Any ideas? We've got a C# business layer that sits on our app server and we'd really like our warehouse app to go through this. We also like MS Synch Services. Is there a way to combine the two ie can we use sync services but get them to go through our business layer ? Has anyone done this and got an example I can follow ?   Hi, I am about to upgrade my pc, and operating system at the same time. I was wondering what version of Windows 7 to get pre-installed, given that I want to do some ASP.NET development using Visual Studio. Specifically : Will all versions of Windows 7 run an IIS server & be suitable for ASP.NET development ? Are all good for running SQL Server etc ? Will Windows 7 have any probs running old versions of Visual Studio (Ie. 2003 & 2005 versions). Are there any other things I need to consider ? I'm probably going for the 32 bit version of Windows 7.   Is there difference in behavior between a constructor call and a procedure call in Delphi records? I have a D2010 code sample I want to convert to D2009 (which I am using). The sample uses a parameterless constructor, which is not permitted in Delphi 2009. If I substitute a simple parameterless procedure call, is there any functional difference for records? I.E. TVector = record private FImpl: IVector; public constructor Create; // not allowed in D2009 end; becomes TVector = record private FImpl: IVector; public procedure Create; // so change to procedure end; As far as I can see this should work, but I may be missing something.

  Hi All, I am running into a problem which is quite a bit surprising.I have an GWT application,which i can run perfectly fine on Firefox,but the same GWT application does not open up in Internet Explorer. When using Firefox i use <set-property name="user.agent" value="gecko1_8"/> and when i want to run in Internet Explorer i change it to <set-property name="user.agent" value="ie8"/> and debug.This way i am sure that the problem i am having is not related to deferred binding. When using the Internet Explorer (IE 8) i cannot even get into the onModuleLoad() part of my application.It looks as if Internet Explorer has downloaded all its stuff ,but has nothing to display.   Hello, As I understand it python has the following outermost namespaces: Builtin - This namespace is global across the entire interpreter and all scripts running within an interpreter instance. Globals - This namespace is global across a module, ie across a single file. I am looking for a namespace in between these two, where I can share a few variables declared within the main script to modules called by it. For example, script.py: import Log from Log import foo from foo log = Log() foo() foo.py: def foo(): log.Log('test') # I want this to refer to the callers log object I want to be able to call script.py multiple times and in each case, expose the module level log object to the foo method. Any ideas if this is possible? It won't be too painful to pass down the log object, but I am working with a large chunk of code that has been ported from Javascript. I also understand that this places constraints on the caller of foo to expose its log object. Thanks, Paul

• Table Disobeys W3C Box Model, Ie8 Ignores Fixed Table Width !

  Hi, I'm having hard time with tables and column widths. Update: I'm using XHTML Strict 1.0. The page is: http://www.pro-turk.net/try The first problem I have is, I have a column with a fixed width of 100px and 4px padding, but it disobeys my padding depending on the value. The column width (as the distance between two borders according to W3C Box Model) is 156 px even if padding is 0 or 4. Only the position of the text changes. According to W3C Box Model ( available at www.pro-turk.net/box_model.png ), borders and paddings aren't included in WIDTH attribute, so why does it render wrongly ? The second problem is, when you look the page I gave with IE8, the first cell in the second row has 150px fixed width, but ie shows it about 50% of the total table width regardless of what i say.

• Facebook Iframe App in Safari links to home page. Works OK in other Browsers.

  I have a facebook iframe that has several php files in it. In all tested browsers (IE,FFOX,Chrome) the links on the header work fine and go to the php files inside the iframe. When I tried this on Safari the links are reloading the whole app inside the iframe. Is like a recursive call because Its not like im having the home page reloaded inside the iframe but the whole facebook page WITH the iframe.. reloaded inside my iframe. The links are called using javascript with document.location.href="myPage.php"; Tryed placing target "_self" inside the link but this turned out weird : the iframe page was placed on top of everything, as if I had specified "_parent" on the target. Any help?

Is there a better built in function, or a clearer (doesn't have to be faster, but still performant) way of doing this? I would prefer a built in function as there seems to be one for everything (well common things) except this particular conversion.

  Hello! I have a webbrowser control in my program and what I want to do is to delete all the cookies stored in my computer. The problem is that for example I'm in some site, and then I decide I want to delete all the cookies, so I do it by the command "Kill()" but the problem is that the cookies remain and this site still can recognize me, and to complete the kill command I need to close my program and enter it again. The webbrowser control uses Internet Explorer, and I think when you enter IE it somehow loads all the cookies into it so if you delete your cookies, they remain there. So I'm wondering how can I delete my cookies, completely delete them without the need to close my program and enter it once again. Any help will be appreciated!

When he accesses the web page, IE shows this message: Your security settings do not allow Web sites to use ActiveX controls installed on your computer. This page may not display correctly. As far as I know, we don't use ActiveX controls on our page. I did a "View Souce" and did not find anything suspect. How can I find what part of my page refers to an ActiveX. • Html dynamically repeated border-image

  I have a table which border I want to have a sort of zig-zag shape. I want the table to have an automatic size; resizing depending on how big the browser is. But rrathe than just having an image that gets stretched I want a seamless image that gets repeat instead. I found out this can be done with CSS3's Border-image but by looking and Browser Statistics I can see than only about half of all the viewers will be able to see it since no version of IE does yet support it.   We have a site which is accessed entirely over HTTPS, but sometimes display external content which is HTTP (images from RSS feeds, mainly). The vast majority of our users are also stuck on IE6. I would both of the following Prevent the IE warning message about insecure content Present something useful to users in place of the images that they can't otherwise see; if there was some JS I could run to figure out which images haven't been loaded and replace them with an image of ours instead that would be great. I suspect that the first aim is simply not possible, but the second may be sufficient. A worst case scenario is that I parse the RSS feeds when we import them, grab the images store them locally so that the users can access them that way, but it seems like a lot of pain for reasonably little gain.
