• Private API and SMS content URI's on Android

  Without accessing private API's to get Content URI's, etc. for SMS, how are we expected to query this data? I am currently in the process of writing my own SMS app and I want to stay as compatible as possible. Without storing the information myself in my own database (such that I can store the text messages so that other programs can access the data when/if they delete my app) and without using private API's how the heck are we suppose to query SMS data?

• Is a C++ compiler allowed to emit different machine code compiling the same program?

  Consider a situation. We have some specific C++ compiler, a specific set of compiler settings and a specific C++ program. We compile that specific programs with that compiler and those settings two times, doing a "clean compile" each time. Should the machine code emitted be the same (I don't mean timestamps and other bells and whistles, I mean only real code that will be executed) or is it allowed to vary from one compilation to another?

  I think small exercises would be the baest way for me to learn programming. I am the begginer and I am willing to give plenty of time to this. To explain, to my opinion exercises should be something to write not long programs (10-30lines), to say what the program will print or that is the mistake. I have a "for" loop in the script, but it won't work unless I use only integers: #!/bin/bash for (( i=10; i<=100000; i+=100)) do ./hw3_2_2 $i done The variable $i is an input for the program hw3_2_2, and I have non-integer values I'd like to use. How could I loop through running the code with a list of decimal numbers?
