• Adding on touch event to images inside gridview

  I have a gridview where each item has a image and a textview (an app), i added the onItemClick to the gridview in order to launch the app, i also removed the orange selection and made selector in xml so when pressed the text would change to grey and on release it would return to white. My problem is that i need the image to apply an alpha value when pressed and restore the previous alpha on release i tested a lot of ways and none did worked correctly. I came close with the updated answer from the autor of the question: How to set alpha value for drawable in a StateListDrawable?, but some how the state pressed never gets called, i don´t know if this is because i am using the onitemClick to launch the app or not. Also i since i can´t define the alpha on imageview xml i don´t know what else to do Any help will be appreciated

• Tune cindent "switch" indentation

  Nemerle is a C-like language and mostly works very well with cindent. However, its construct analogous to switch is called match: match (x) { | "Hello World" => ... | _ => ... } Is it possible to get the cinoptions for switch statements to apply to this construct, instead? Maybe there is a regular expression I can set somewhere. If not, can I get the vertical bars to align with the braces another way?

• Adding text labels to sliders in iPhone Settings application

  When configuring a Settings.bundle as part of an iPhone application bundle, it's trivial to add minimum and maximum value images to sliders (PSSliderSpecifier), but not simple maximum and minimum text labels. http://developer.apple.com/iPhone/library/documentation/PreferenceSettings/Conceptual/SettingsApplicationSchemaReference/Articles/PSSliderSpecifier.html iPhone gurus: Is anyone aware of a simple means to apply text labels to these sliders for use within the Settings application (therefore, no slider subclassing shenanigans; it all has to be done via a plist)? I suppose I could just use an image of the label but...ew. Bonus points if there's a way to show the current value of a slider in some sort of number format.

• JAR file folder for eclipse projects

  I'm trying to create a centralized folder (in some kind of a "meta project" in my eclipse workspace) for commonly used JAR files for referenced projects in this workspace. It should work similar to the WEB-INF/lib folder for web projects but also apply to non web projects, and automatically scan and add all jar files in this folder. I tried to create a user library with these jar files and reference them in the project but I still have to add every new jar manually to the user library (and don't know if it is referenced relative of absoulute) and Tomcat (WTP) doesn't seem to take these files (Run As - Run on Server) into its classpath (and I don't want to duplicate the jars and put them into WEB-INF/lib). Any ideas?

• Application wide messaging... without singletons?

  So, I want to go for a more Singleton - less design in the future. However, there seem to be a lot of tasks in an application that can't be done in meaningful way without singletons. I call them "application wide services", but they also fall into the same category as the cross cutting concerns, which I usually fix via AOP. Lets take an example: I want an application wide message queue that dispatches messages to components, every component can subscribe and publish there, it's a very nice multicast thing. The message queue and dispatching system are usually a (rather short) singleton class, which is very easy to implement in, say, C#. You can even use double dispatching and utilize message type metadata and the like, it's all so easy to do, it's almost trivial. However, having singletons is not really "object oriented design" (it introduces global variables) and it makes testing harder. Do you have any ideas? I'm asking this question because I'm willing to learn more about this topic, a LOT more. :-)

• MySQL inner join different results

  I am trying to work out why the following two queries return different results: SELECT DISTINCT i.id, i.date FROM `tblinvoices` i INNER JOIN `tblinvoiceitems` it ON it.userid=i.userid INNER JOIN `tblcustomfieldsvalues` cf ON it.relid=cf.relid WHERE i.`tax` = 0 AND i.`date` BETWEEN '2012-07-01' AND '2012-09-31' and SELECT DISTINCT i.id, i.date FROM `tblinvoices` i WHERE i.`tax` = 0 AND i.`date` BETWEEN '2012-07-01' AND '2012-09-31' Obviously the difference is the inner join here, but I don't understand why the one with the inner join is returning less results than the one without it, I would have thought since I didn't do any cross table references they should return the same results. The final query I am working towards is SELECT DISTINCT i.id, i.date FROM `tblinvoices` i INNER JOIN `tblinvoiceitems` it ON it.userid=i.userid INNER JOIN `tblcustomfieldsvalues` cf ON it.relid=cf.relid WHERE cf.`fieldid` =5 AND cf.`value` REGEXP '[A-Za-z]' AND i.`tax` = 0 AND i.`date` BETWEEN '2012-07-01' AND '2012-09-31' But because of the different results that seem incorrect when I add the inner join (it removes some results that should be valid) it's not working at present, thanks.

  Before explaining my problem let me tell you the Mercurial setup, We have the following repos, RELEASE DEVELOPMENT BUGFIX All the above repo are running on a central server using IIS and hgwebdir.cgi Now coming to the problem, I clone a local repo from DEVELOPMENT repo. I make changes to the clone and commit (Not push). I make a bundle from the clone and pass the bundle to QA who has cloned the RELEASE repo. Now I try to apply the bundle to the RELEASE repo clone using hg unbundle I get an error, abort: error: ftp error: no host given What am I doing wrong? Can you give solution to the above problem keeping a Windows setup in mind?

  What's the best way to center icons on a line when the icons are smaller than the line height? For example (styles inline for easier reading): <div style="line-height: 20px"> <img style="width: 12px; height: 12px;"/> Blah blah blah </div> I want the img to be centered on a single line of the div, above. That is, even if the text wrapped to multiple lines, the image would be centered against a single line. Ideally, the solution would not involve setting margings/paddings on the image and would work even if I didn't know the line-height. • SQL 2008 table locked - can't work out why

  I have two databases on one SQL 2008 server. Database 1 seems to be causing a lock on a table on database 2. There no queries are running on database 1 that should affect database 2. Is this normal behaviour? When I view the running queries with this command SELECT sqltext.TEXT, req.session_id, req.status, req.command, req.cpu_time, req.total_elapsed_time/1000 [seconds] FROM sys.dm_exec_requests req CROSS APPLY sys.dm_exec_sql_text(sql_handle) AS sqltext it tells me as much, and says that the command on database 2 is suspended. I'm at a bit of a loss. What sort of things should I look at to work out why the table in database 2 is locked?

There are two main styles Site 1 Site 2 Each site has some cusomtimizations based on language So each shop view has an some templates defined Site 2 - DE Site 2 - UK Now the problem is that when I apply a product level design, it forget's about the language level definition and skips back to the main definition. I want it to work like this Site 2 Site 2 DE Product Style But Instead it seems to work like this Site 2 Site 2 DE Product Style Where Site 2 DE is not ignored because a custom product style has been defined. How can I get the first hierarchy to work? So that my product styles do not override the language styles completely.

• full-text property change on column

  Hello, i'm trying to modify a property of a column (in sql server 2008 r2) which is of xml data type. I want set (Is full-text indexed) to yes, but after I do this and try to save changes, i get an error: 'Abc' table - Unable to modify table. Column: B is not full-text searchable. Column B is not the column I'm modyfing, but it's content is based on the modified xml column (it takes a value from one element in xml). Weird thing is that column B is full-text indexed (in table designer). Any ideas why i cannot apply changes to the xml column?

I just wanted you to see that the last three elements in the input are staying together. The result have to be a number between 1-32, which has the value "1000" in the input. In my training set I will always have a result for an array of this kind. What kind of functions can I use for the teaching algorithm? Can you point me please to the right way? • Is it possible to retrieve only a single property from a CSS class?

  Example CSS File: .testClass { color: black; background: red; } Now in an HTML file, I would like to have something like <span class="testClass:color">Text in black but without red background</span> to only apply the color property of that class. Is there a way to do this? The purpose behind it (for people asking themselves "Why the hell would he want that, that's not clean CSS usage!") is that I use jQuery UI themes, and I would like the entire page to fit a theme upon change. As not all kinds of elements (e.g. the color of a link) are covered by those themes, in those cases I would like to "steal" the color property (but not more) of some other CSS class of the jQuery UI theme. If there is another way to do this, of course I'm glad to hear it as well!

  Hi I am trying to do some maths with my VBA excel (prime factorization) and I am hitting the limit of the long data type (runtime error 6 Overflow). Is there any way to get around this and still stay within VBA? (I am aware that the obvious one would be to use another more appropriate programming language) Thanks for help in advance! Thank you, it works in so far that I am able to get the big numbers into the variables now. However when I try to apply the MOD function (bignumber MOD 2 for example) it still fails with error message runtime error 6 Overflow.

• Some help needed with a SQL query

  Hello, I need some help with a MySQL query. I have two tables, one with offers and one with statuses. An offer can has one or more statuses. What I would like to do is get all the offers and their latest status. For each status there's a table field named 'added' which can be used for sorting. I know this can be easily done with two queries, but I need to make it with only one because I also have to apply some filters later in the project.   I read this on msdn: Views let different users to see data in different ways, even when they are using the same data at the same time. This is especially useful when users who have many different interests and skill levels share the same database. For example, a view can be created that retrieves only the data for the customers with whom an account manager deals. The view can determine which data to retrieve based on the login ID of the account manager who uses the view. My question: For the above example , i would have to have a column named Userid/LoginId on my table on which the view is created so that i can apply a check option in the view for this column. and then if a user with a name not in that column tries to enter data , then he/she is blocked.

• SWIG: Throwing exceptions from Python to C++

  We've got an interface we've defined in C++ (abstract class, all functions pure virtual) which will be extended in Python. To overcome the cross-language polymorphism issues we're planning on using SWIG directors. I've read how to catch exceptions thrown from C++ code in our Python code here, here, here, and even on SO. It's fairly straight forward and I'm not expecting issues with handling our library's own exceptions. What I'd like to know and can't seem to find in the documentation is how to have our Python implementation of the extended C++ interface throw those C++ exceptions in a way that makes them visible to the C++ code. We could make small functions within the *.i files such that each function throws our exceptions: void throw_myException(){ throw MyException; } but I'm wondering how it will interact with the Python code. Anyone have any experience with throwing C++ exceptions from Python code?

• Maintaining traceability up-to-date as project evolves

  During various projects, I needed to make sure that the use case model I developed during the analysis phase is covering the requirements of the project. For that, I was able to have some degree of traceability between requirement statements (uniquely identified) and use cases (also uniquely identified). In some cases, enabling traceability implied some additional effort that I considered (and later proved) to be a good investment. Now, the biggest problem I faced was to maintain this traceability later, when things started to change (as a result of change requests, or as a result of use case changes). Any ideas of best practices for traceability maintenance? (It can apply to other items in the project - e.g. use cases and test cases, or requirements and acceptance test cases) Later edit Tools might help, but they can't detect gaps or errors in traceability. Navigation... maybe, but no warranty that the traceability is up-to-date or correct after applying the changes.

• Problems getting git 'server' to work on Windows

  I've followed the Tim's article (mentioned in the answer to this question), but - like many others, it seems - I'm stuck when trying do the test clone at the end. I get the fatal: the remote end hung up unexpectedly error, even though my $HOME path seems to be right. Anyone got any pointers to where I might start for debugging this? My git and linux-fu are severely limited... I'm aware of this answer to the same question, but it doesn't apply in my case, I don't get any messages about paths.

  I have a cross-domain long polling request using getJSON with a callback that looks something like this: $.getJSON("http://long-polling.com/some.fcgi?jsoncallback=?" function(data){ if(data.items[0].rval == 1) { // update data in page } }); The problem is the request to the long-polling service might take a while to return, and another getJSON request might be made in the meantime and update the page even though it is a stale response. Req1: h**p://long-polling.com/some.fcgi at 10:00 AM Req2: h**p://long-polling.com/some.fcgi? at 10:01 AM Req1 returns and updates the data on the page 10:02 AM I want a way to invalidate the return from Req1 if Req2 has already been made.   I'm just converting a video player sample to MT and came to this part: self.view.layer.sublayerTransform = CATransform3DMakePerspective(1000); In Monotouch, I've started with: this.View.Layer.SublayerTransform(CATransform3D.... But no perspective option is available. There is a 'scale' and 'rotate' one - does this mean this functionality is unavailable in MT? Or that I need to start creating my own bindings even though this one has been processed by the binding creation tool Xamarin uses? • How can I get my UserControl to look like a ComboBox?

  I have a user control containing a TextBox, ToggleButton and Popup, just like the real ComboBox. Now my problem is to style it so that it looks just like the normal ComboBox. In Blend, I can "Edit Template/Edit a Copy..." of a real ComboBox to get the bits and pieces I need to get it to look right. For one Windows theme (Aero). If the application is run on another theme (e.g Luna), the control does not change its look, it still has the Aero look. Do I have to supply a style/template for each Windows theme, or can I somehow get hold of (at run-time) the default ComboBox style and apply it to my UserControl? Instead of making a UserControl, I have tried modifying a real ComboBox to my needs, but I just couldn't get it to work. How can I replace ALL the logic of a ComboBox with my own?
