• Spring - SessionAttribute problem

  Hello, I want to implement something like this: @Controller @SessionAttributes("promotion") class PromotionController { @RequestMapping("showPromo") void showPromotionInfo( @RequestParam("promId") String promotionId, @ModelAttribute Promotion promotion, Errors errors ) { promotion = Promotions.get(promotionId); if (promotion == null || promotion.validates() == false) { errors.reject("promotion.invalid"); } return "prom"; } } The code is invalid, wont work and has some bad errors, but I don't know how to write it better. When user comes to an URL "showPromo?promId=15", controller should validate if the promotion is valid (outdated/non-existent/etc.). If it is valid - it should show it's information and save the promotion to model and session. If it's not - it should show some error about promotion being invalid. Problem is, I need to save the promotion in the session (for several requests) and don't want to use direct session management. Is it currently possible with Spring? Or am I doing something wrong? Could you please provide the optimal solution to my problem using Spring 3? Thanks in advance.

I want to increment these process by 5 till it gets 100. I made different processes to make each of the train (process) increments its position parallely. But I was surprised to get the output sequentially i.e process trainA ends then process trainB starts. But I want to increment themselves at simultaneously. I want to run processes like this trainA 10 trainB 0 trainA 15 trainB 5 .... trainA 100 trainB 100 but I m getting trainA 0 .... trainA 90 trainA 95 trainA 100 trainA ends trainB 0 trainB 5 trainB 10 ..... trainB 100 How to make the processes run parallel/simultaneously? Hope you get my Q's. Please help me.

• Can a single developer still make money with shareware?

  I'm wondering if the shareware concept is dead nowadays. Like most developers, I've built up quite a collection of self-made tools and code libraries that help me to be productive. Some examples to give you an idea of the type of thing I'm talking about: A self-learning program that renames and orders all my mp3 files and adds information to the id3 tags; A Delphi component that wraps the Google Maps API; A text-to-singing-voice converter for musical purposes; A program to control a music synthesizer; A Gps-log <- KML <- ESRI-shapefile converter; I've got one of these already freely downloadable on my website, and on average it gets downloaded about a 150 times per month. Let's say I'd start charging 15 euro's for it; would there actually be people who buy it? How many? What would it depend on? If I could get some money for some of these, I'd finish them up a bit and put them online, but without that, I probably won't bother. Maintaining a SourceForge project is not very rewarding by itself. Is there anyone who is making money with shareware? How much? Any tips?

When I run my webapp to generate a dynamic excel doc from my local machine it works fine but when the same piece of code is invoked on the server I get the below error.   I have been looking everywhere how to play a $#@&! rington/alarm sound in android. I press a button and I want to play a rington/alarm sound. I could not find a easy, strsight forward sample... YES! I already looked at Alarm clock source code... but it is not straight forward and I cannot compile it neither. • Break on EXC_BAD_ACCESS in XCode?

  I'm new to iPhone development and XCode in general and have no idea how to begin troubleshooting an EXC_BAD_ACCESS signal. How can I get XCode to break at the exact line that is causing the error? Further trial and error debugging and I found that an NSMutableArray I have a property for on my class was a zombie. I went into the init function for the class and here's the code I was using: if ((self = [super init])) { NSMutableArray *array = [NSMutableArray array]; self.terrainBlocks = array; [array release]; } return self; } I removed the [array release] line and it no longer gives me the EXC_BAD_ACCESS signal, but I'm now confused about why this works. I thought that when I used the property, it automatically retained it for me, and thus I should release it from within init so that I don't have a leak. I'm thoroughly confused about how this works and all the guides and Stackoverflow questions I've read only confuse me more about how to set properties within my init method. There seems to be no consensus as to which way is the best.

• Due Date set via EWS is wrong in reminder popup

  I'm having some trouble using EWS with tasks and reminders, specifically, the due date. When I run my code, shown below, the task is added to my exchange account and I can see it fine in outlook. All the data in it looks fine too. However, if I specify to have a reminder for the task, the due date it shows is very wrong. It's usually 17 hours in the future, but the screenshot I've provided shows it being 19 hours in the future. I'm finding it very strange that if I open the task, the due date looks fine, but the reminder is saying it is due well into the future. Any ideas? • VPython in Eclipse - thinks it has the wrong architecture type.

  Evening, So I've recently installed VPython on my MacBook (OS X, Snow Leopard) - and it works absolutely fine in IDLE and from the command line (interactive mode). However, eclipse has issues. Firstly it couldn't find it (which is a bit of an issue actually with all these 'easy install' python modules - when they don't tell you where they actually install to!) but I searched it out in the depths of Library\Frameworks... and added that to the System PYTHONPATH listbox in Eclipse.   I'm trying to write a test for an UrlHelper extensionmethod that is used like this: Url.Action<TestController>(x => x.TestAction()); However, I can't seem set it up correctly so that I can create a new UrlHelper and then assert that the returned url was the expected one. Expected: "Test/TestAction" But was: <string.Empty> I have verified that the route is registered and working and I am using Hanselmans extension for creating a fake HttpContext.   I've a simple UpdatePanel and a button outside of it. I've introduced the button as an AsyncPostBackTrigger in the UpdatePanel. UpdatePanel itself works fine but the button does not. Whenever the button is clicked, its click handler does not run just like the button is not clicked at all! Why the button is not working and how can it be fixed?   I have created a JTable which is populated by various arraylists which get their data from a text list using a "~" to split. The issue I am having is that the table is displaying all data from the list on a single row. For example: Column1 Column2 Column2 Column2 Column3 Column4 1,2,3,4,5 1,2,3,4,5 1,2,3,4,5 1,2,3,4,5 1,2,3,4,5 1,2,3,4,5 When I want it to display Column1 Column2 Column2 Column2 Column3 Column4 1 1 1 1 1 1 2 2 2 2 2 2 3 3 3 3 3 3 You get the idea. From previous advice, I think the issue may be looping, but I am not sure. Any advice would be great. • Python: Seeing all files in Hex.

  I am writing a python script which looks at common computer files and examines them for similar bytes, words, double word's. Though I need/want to see the files in Hex, ande cannot really seem to get python to open a simple file in python.   Am trying to use OsmDroid with MapQuest maps downloaded from Mobile Atlas Creator. I followed all the instructions to generate the map tiles, upload them to the SDcard etc but when I run this on the device I get a screen with a bunch of empty boxes... • Can't log in a user in MVC!

  I have been scratching my head on this for a while now but still can't get it. I'm trying to simply log in a user in an MVC2 application. I have tried everything that I know to try but still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Here are a few things that I have tried: FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie( emailAddress, rememberMe ); var cookie = FormsAuthentication.GetAuthCookie( emailAddress, rememberMe ); HttpContext.Response.Cookies.Add( cookie ); FormsAuthenticationTicket ticket = new FormsAuthenticationTicket( emailAddress, rememberMe, 15 ); FormsIdentity identity = new FormsIdentity( ticket ); GenericPrincipal principal = new GenericPrincipal(identity, new string[0]); HttpContext.User = principal; I'm not sure if any of this is the right thing to do (as it's not working). After setting HttpContext.User = principal then Request.IsAuthenticated == true. However, in Global.asax I have this: HttpCookie authenCookie = Context.Request.Cookies.Get( FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName ); The only cookie that ever is available is the aspnet session cookie. Any ideas at all would be much appreciated!

• Problem with sfRemember cookie / sfGuard Remember me

  I'm using Symfony 1.4 with Doctrine. Sorry if this is a silly question but what exactly does one need to build on top of the sfDoctrineGuardPlugin to get the "remember me" functionality working? When I login a user, the sfRemember cookie is created with the default 15-day lifetime, and the remember key is saved in the plugin's sf_guard_remember_key table. Without any tweaks to the plugin, the sfGuardSecurityUser SignIn() method creates the cookie, but the Signout() method erases it, leaving no cookie unless you're logged in! Signin(): sfContext::getInstance()->getResponse()->setCookie($remember_cookie, $key, time() + $expiration_age); Signout(): sfContext::getInstance()->getResponse()->setCookie($remember_cookie, '', time() - $expiration_age); I can see that the database table saves the cookie as a relation of sf_guard_user, but that's not much good if the cookie is gone.... I'd be grateful if someone could tell me what I'm missing here, and ideally, if I prevent the Signout() method from removing the cookie, do I need to write code to read the cookie myself or is this automated somewhere/somehow? I've got box-standard Symfony 1.4 and sfDoctrineGuardPlugin installations. It all just seems totally wrong and the documentation on this is non-existent. Any help would appreciated.
