• Achieving AES-256 Channel Encryption with the .NET Compact Framework

  Hi There, I am working on a business application where the clients are Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional devices. The server is a Java enterprise application. The industry working group recommends AES-256 encryption for client/server communications. This is necessary to gain certification. The encryption doesn't necessarily need to be channel encryption, it could be payload encryption. Channel encryption is preferable. The client and server communicate using SOAP/HTTP, which we are yet to implement. We plan to use WCF on the compact framework. In order to alleviate some of the work required to implement manual encryption/decryption, it would be nice if we could achieve the required encryption either at the TLS level, or somehow using the WS-* standards (I'm not particularly familiar with that group of technologies but I am learning right now). The server supports https with 256-bit AES. Does anybody have an idea on the best way to implement this? Thanks in advance.

  So, I realize that const T& and T const& are identical and both mean a reference to a const T. In both cases, the reference is also constant (references cannot be reassigned, unlike pointers). I've observed, in my somewhat limited experience, that most C++ programmers use const T&, but I have come across a few people who use T const&. Is this just a personal preference? Why is one chosen over the other?

  Hey... its XMAS Eve and something is bugging me... yes, I have work on my mind even when I am on holiday. The vast amount of frameworks available for PHP now use MVC. Even ASP.net has its own MVC module. I can see the attraction of MVC, I really can and I use it frequently. The only downside that I can see is that you have to fire up the whole system to execute a page request. Depending on your task this can be a little wasteful. So the question. In a professional environment is this the only way to use PHP nowadays or are their other design methods which have alternative benefits?

• Where do I put the links to my Javascript/jQuery files in my html file?

  I recently noticed that some (not all) of my javascript and jQuery scripts wouldn't work unless I put the link for the .js files nearer towards the bottom of the page instead of the head area where I put my links for my .css files. From what I understand, javascript can go in either places and it is recommended to not be put in the header as it slows down the page loading process as well. At the same time, if I put it in the body tag of the html file, it looks somewhat messy and was wondering what the best practice is for putting .js files in a cleanly place. Should I always put it at the very bottom right before the ending body tag? How do professional web developers handle this?

I am looking to try to get a social network site up and running on Ruby on Rails and was looking at RailsSpace: Building a Social Networking Website with Ruby on Rails (Addison-Wesley Professional Ruby Series) - Paperback (July 30, 2007) by Michael Hartl. This was published in 2007, however, and the newer reviews say it is not very helpful.   Hi All, I am very new to Action Script. I am using Flash Professional CS5 with ActionScript 3.0. The problem is, When I am trying use fscommand2 function, Compiler throwing an error saying: Scene 1, Layer 'Layer 1', Frame 1, Line 7 1180: Call to a possibly undefined method fscommand2. But, I am able to use fscommand. But, it will not fulfill my requirement to get Device(Mobile) properties like DeviceID etc. Please help me in using fscommand2 or any equivalent API support in ActionScript 3.0. Thanks in advance.
