    I know this isn't strictly program related, but I think I've seen this answer on SO before and lost track of it. The specific question has to do with reading an electronic document. I find it helpful to move the cursor across the words as I'm reading them. This works great with Word documents, but I'm unable to do it with web pages. Is there a way to make a web page see and respond to cursor movement?

    The UISearchDisplayController is very handy and implementing search is pretty straightforward. However, I bump into problem when, in my app, I want to display search result with empty search string but selected scope button. It seems like it's a must to enter some search string in order to get the search result table being initialized and displayed. Is there any ways to display search result immediately after user has picked a scope but not entered search word yet? Thanks Bill

    Could anyone explain to me why is it that producers of processors claim that their processor can perform so many thousands (or millions) operations per second and yet typical program (Word, VS etc.) on my machine with 4GB, 3500hz starts with no less than 10sek. Have to mention that I've just formatted disk and tick any necessarry boxes to optimize my machine. So if for example outlook starts in 10 sek I wonder how many millions of operations have to be performed to run such program? Thanks

    I'm using PHP and I've never really done anything with Javascript or JQuery or AJAX. I'm just wondering if there are any available solutions to accomplish the same effect of auto-completion that SO uses for entering tags. There are plugins which can handle one word but I haven't seen any that handles multiple words. Also, I hear JQuery is hosted on google code. Is it a good or bad idea to link directly from that?

    For a project I would like to invoke the MBR on the first harddisk directly from DOS. I've written a small assembler program that loads the MBR in memory at 0:7c00h an does a far jump to it. I've put my util on a bootable floppy. The disk (HD0, 0x80) i'm trying to boot has a TrueCrypt boot loader on it. It shows up the TrueCrypt screen, but after typing in the password it crashes the system. When I run my little utlility (w00t.com) on a normal WinXP machine it seams to crash immedealty. Apparently I'm forgetting some crucial stuff the BIOS normally does, my guess is it's something trivial. Can someone with better bare-metal DOS and BIOS experience help me out? Basically if I write: foreach (ListItem item in items) { item.Text = "something"; } I want it to appear in the correct colours like it does in my Visual Studio or here at stack*overflow*. I'm bored of styling the colours of each key word manually. Is there a pre-existing javascript library I can use?

For example, if content is copied and pasted from Microsoft Word, there is a selectable option to remove all formatting of the pasted content or the content is stripped on the paste event. Have googled this for a bit, but to no avail.. Any help would be much appreciated :)

    I am trying to set up a new GitHub account as part of learning ruby on rails. My OS is windows. I am having the following problem while trying to add my public key to the GitHub SSH public keys. When I put the key in the text area, supply a name, and click 'Add Key', I am taken to the Job profile page without any confirmation that the key has been added.(I am using SSH client GUI to generate RSA keys).
