• Limiting Subscriptions to be emailed using SSRS

  Currently, our system will do a "foreach" over all Subscriptions which are returned from the ListSubscriptions method of ReportingService and fire a Timed Subscription event so that they receive the report as an email. In our dev environment, I don't want every subscription of these reports to be sent out when we are testing. Is there a way I can create a new subscription with my own email address being used so that I receive the report? The temp subscription could then be deleted after sending. Any ideas on how to do this?

  i have two lists: List<comparerobj> list_c = new List<comparerobj>(); List<comparerobj> list_b = new List<comparerobj>(); i'm filling lists somehow then i'm trying to find elements in list_b which list_c doesnt contain: foreach (comparerobj b in list_b) { bool lc = !list_c.Contains(b); if (lc != true) { data.Add(b); } } but for any b i'm getting that lc = true. what am i doing wrong?

  I need to take an array that looks something like ... array( 11 => "fistVal", 19 => "secondVal", 120=> "thirdVal", 200 =>"fourthVal"); and convert it to... array( 0 => "fistVal", 1 => "secondVal", 2=> "thirdVal", 3 =>"fourthVal"); This is what I came up with - function compressArray($array){ if(count($array){ $counter = 0; $compressedArray = array(); foreach($array as $cur){ $compressedArray[$count] = $cur; $count++; } return $compressedArray; } else { return false; } } I'm just curious if there is any built-in functionality in php or neat tricks to do this.

  I have a couple of tables where there are one to many relationships. Let's say I have a Country table, a State table with a FK to Country, and a City table with a FK to State. I'd like to be able to create a count of all Cities for a given country, and also a count of cities based on a filter - something like: foreach( var country in Model.Country ) { total = country.State.All().City.All().Count() ; filtered = country.State.All().City.Any(c=>c.field == value).Count(); } Obviously, this doesn't work - is there any way to do this?

  Hi I have a form with a DataGridView (of 3 columns) and a Button. Every time the user clicks on a button, I want the get the values stored in the 1st column of that row. Boxing it seems to work, but I was hoping to see if I could find a more intelligent approach to it, since the Collection will contain other types of objects that also inherit from Base.

  Is there an easy way to dump an array returned from mysql_fetch_row into a CFArray? (part of the PHP implementation of CFPropertyList) I'm bummed by the lack of documentation on CFPropertyList for PHP. Iterating through each item in the array seems inefficient. I'm open to using a different mysql_fetch_... command. I'd like to just say: $NewArray = new CFArray( $ResultArray ) But that deosn't seem to work.   Ok I'm trying to make search terms bold in this search script I'm making, except I can't get it to work case insensitive. function highlight($term,$target){ $terms = explode(" ", $term); foreach($terms as $term){ $result = (eregi_replace($term, "<strong>$term</strong>", $target)); } return $result; } That is the function I have so far.. It says on PHP.net that eregi_replace is case insensitive matching but it's obviously not working for some reason. (I'm a noob). Any ideas? :D

  The MSDN gives this code example in the article on the Func Generic Delegate: Func<String, int, bool> predicate = ( str, index) => str.Length == index; String[] words = { "orange", "apple", "Article", "elephant", "star", "and" }; IEnumerable<String> aWords = words.Where(predicate).Select(str => str); foreach (String word in aWords) Console.WriteLine(word); I understand what all this is doing. What I don't understand is the Select(str => str) bit. Surely that's not needed? If you leave it out and just have IEnumerable<String> aWords = words.Where(predicate); then you still get an IEnumerable back that contains the same results, and the code prints the same thing. Am I missing something, or is the example misleading?

  What's the best way to terminate a fold early? As a simplified example, imagine I want to sum up the numbers in an Iterable, but if I encounter something I'm not expecting (say an odd number) I might want to terminate. This is a first approximation def sumEvenNumbers(nums: Iterable[Int]): Option[Int] = { nums.foldLeft (Some(0): Option[Int]) { case (None, _) => None case (Some(s), n) if n % 2 == 0 => Some(s + n) case (Some(_), _) => None } } However, this solution is pretty ugly (as in, if I did a .foreach and a return -- it'd be much cleaner and clearer) and worst of all, it traverses the entire iterable even if it encounters a non-even number. So what would be the best way to write a fold like this, that terminates early? Should I just go and write this recursively, or is there a more accepted way?

  For example. Lets say we have a stackpanel on a form. Its full of both Grids and Labels. I want to loop through all the Grids and do some operation on them but leave the Lables intact. At the moment I am doing it this way. foreach(UIElement element in m_stacker.Children) { Grid block = element as Grid; if(block != null) { //apply changes here } } So i'm using the fact that "as" returns null if it cannot cast into the required type. Is this an ok thing to do or is there a better solution to this problem?

• Why does set key not do anything in AES/SymmetricAlgorithm?

  This MESSED ME UP hard. I thought i was setting the key but i was not. No exceptions, nothing happen except bad results. Why is there a setter if everything is ignored and no exceptions are thrown when i attempt to write? What is the point of the setter on the Keys property? When i do the below Key value are not changed. After an hour when i realize what was happening i wrote the loop to verify. I also tried aes.Key[0] = val; var b = val == aes.Key[0]; (and messed with it in immediate mode). Why does it have this behavior?   I have a script where it accepts a varying number of arguments. I want to use func_get_args to perform operations on said arguments. If I have one function like this: function Something() { foreach(func_get_args($this) as $functions) { // Do something } // Return.. } I want to be able to call this function in, for example, another function to add/save entries. The add/save function would have arguments 'title', 'description' etc.. I basically want to know if there is a way to detect the context of a function call. Can I pass something to func_get_args that will let it know that its called in a certain function? So if I do: function Save($title, $desc) { $vars = $this->Something(); } I want $vars to contain $title and $desc after modifying them.

• Mongo: Finding from multiple queries

  New to Mongo here. I'm using the PHP lib and trying to work out how I can find in a collection from multiple queries. I could do this by repeating the query with a different query, but I wondered if it can be done in one. I.e. $idsToLookFor = array(2124,4241,5553); $query = $db->thisCollection->find(array('id' => $idsToLookFor)); That's what I'd like to do. However it doesn't work. What I'm trying to do is find a set of results for all the id's at one time. Possible or just do a findOne on each with a foreach/for?
