  • coredata using old file version on device

    This is a follow on from my previous problems here. Resetting the simulator solved all my troubles before, and I've gone on to complete my App. I now have the exact same problem when installing the app onto my iPhone device. It picks up an old version of my database, which doesn't have the second entity in it, and crashes when I try to access the second entity: 2010-04-22 23:52:18.860 albumCloud[135:207] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: '+entityForName: could not locate an NSManagedObjectModel for entity name 'Image'' 2010-04-22 23:52:18.874 albumCloud[135:207] Stack: ( 843263261, 825818644, 820669213, 20277, 844154820, 16985, 14633, 844473760, 844851728, 862896011, 843011267, 843009055, 860901832, 843738160, 843731504, 11547, 11500 ) terminate called after throwing an instance of 'NSException' I have two questions: 1) How on earth do I delete my app thoroughly enough from my phone that it removes the old data? (I've so far tried regular app deletion, deleting and then holding home and power for a reboot, cursing at and threatening the app while running it... everything) 2) How do I prevent this happening when my application is in the App store, and I for some reason decide that I want to add another entity to the store, or another attribute to the existing entities? is there an "if x doesn't exist then create it" method?

  • Reporting Services - can't group by a column called "LanguageId"

    Folks, I have a really odd behavior here: I have a SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services report which gets grouped and sorted dynamically. One of the column in my data set which I display is called LanguageId and I was trying to get a grouping going by this LanguageId field. I checked, double-checked and triple-checked the data being returned - it does contain my expected values for LanguageId and everything seems fine and dandy. It just never worked - I didn't get the expected groups, I got things like a specific node actually changing its display value from one ID to another when expanding its subitems, and other really whacky stuff. I discovered that grouping and sorting by LanguageCaption works just fine. It also started working fine after I renamed LanguageId to MyLanguageId. So where on earth is this documented that LanguageId appears to be a system variable / reserved word / keyword of some sort in SQL Server Reporting Services that must be avoided at all costs?? I can't seem to find anything on that topic - even Mr. Google and Mrs. Bing came up empty so far....

  • xPath Groupings how?

    OK So, I'm learning/using xpath for a basic application thats effectively ripping data off another website. I need to gain the knowledge of each persons Countryy/Suburb/area. In some instances you can get Australia/Victoria/melborne for instance. Others may just be Australia/Melbourne. Or even just Melbourne OR just AUSTRALIA. who knows. So I'm current able to view the below code and rip all of the information with the string xpath search:@" //table/tr/td/tabke/tr/td/font/a, this returns every entry, but what I really want is to group each lot separately. I hope someone out there on planet earth knows what I just tried to explain... and can help...     Whenever I try to parse XML with special characters such as o or ???? I get an error. The xml documents claims to use UTF-8 encoding but that does not seem to be the case. Here is what the troublesome text looks like when I view the XML in Firefox: Bleach: The Diamond Dust Rebellion - MÅ? Hitotsu no HyÅ?rinmaru; Bleach - The DiamondDust Rebellion - Mou Hitotsu no Hyourinmaru On the actual website, Å? is actually the character o. <br /> One day, Doraemon and his friends meet Professor Mangetsu (æº?æ??å??ç??, Professor Mangetsu?), who studies magic and magical beings such as goblins, and his daughter Miyoko (ç¾?å¤?å­?, Miyoko?), and are warned of the dangerous approximation of the &quot;star of the Underworld&quot; to the Earth&#039;s orbit.<br /> <br /> And once again, on the actual website, those characters appear as ???? and ???. The actual XML file is formatted properly other than those special characters, which certainly do not appear to be using the UTF-8 encoding. Is there a way to get NSXML to parse these XML files?

    I am trying to translate some of the phrases of my website into various languages. so, in my database, I have a table with rows of ID//text//dest_language//text_in_dest_language At the moment, I retreive each translation one by one: get text_in_dest_language where text="Hello World" and dest_languge="zh" This results in 40-50 db calls per page, which, on the app engine, is rather slow. What can I do to mitigate this slowdown?

  • Files under Program Files have a split personality

    I have a Ruby application I'm installing (along with a packaged ruby interpreter) under Program Files on Windows 7 with an NSIS-built installer. In order to debug it, I edited one of the files to add some debugging statements. After that, I uninstalled the package and ran a new version of the installer which includes a new copy of the edited file, without debugging statements. Now, I can't get the new copy to load into ruby. If I run type <filename> in cmd.exe, or open the file in Notepad.exe or Firefox, I see the new version. If I run ruby -e "puts File.read('<filename>')", or open the file in emacs, I see the old version. If, in Windows Explorer, I copy the file to a new filename, everything can see the new contents at that filename. If I delete the original file and rename the copy to replace the original, the split personality returns. This situation survives a reboot, so it's not a simple matter of a file being accidentally held open. What on earth is going on here? Is there some aspect of the install process that might be checkpointing the file in a way I can revert, or at least switch off while I'm debugging the installer?

    Since Grails 1.2 there's a documentation engine included: gdoc. The documentation's syntax is based on the Textile format. Is there some editor support for this? My first choice would be a plugin for IntelliJ, second option on for vim or gedit. Any hints welcome. I am totally a aware that the format is very simple by itself but having code coloring and content assist would be really nice.

  • PHP + MYSQLI: Variable parameter/result binding with prepared statements.

    In a project that I'm about to wrap up, I've written and implemented an object-relational mapping solution for PHP. Before the doubters and dreamers cry out "how on earth?", relax -- I haven't found a way to make late static binding work -- I'm just working around it in the best way that I possibly can. Anyway, I'm not currently using prepared statements for querying, because I couldn't come up with a way to pass a variable number of arguments to the bind_params() or bind_result() methods. Why do I need to support a variable number of arguments, you ask? Because the superclass of my models (think of my solution as a hacked-up PHP ActiveRecord wannabe) is where the querying is defined, and so the find() method, for example, doesn't know how many parameters it would need to bind. Now, I've already thought of building an argument list and passing a string to eval(), but I don't like that solution very much -- I'd rather just implement my own security checks and pass on statements. Does anyone have any suggestions (or success stories) about how to get this done? If you can help me solve this first problem, perhaps we can tackle binding the result set (something I suspect will be more difficult, or at least more resource-intensive if it involves an initial query to determine table structure).

  • wpf 4 datagrid not highlighting row.

    I have a shiny new wpf 4 datagrid, and no matter what I do I can't make the row highlight when the user clicks on a cell. It works on the empty "new record" row on the bottom, but not on rows with data (yes I've tried with and without readonly).   • Triangle count for model is doubled during render

    I am working with the Trinigy 3d engine, and it reports models to have twice as many triangles during render than it does in the model display (let's say 4000 instead of 2000). If I render the model with an additional outline shader, it reports 6000 triangles, so it's not a simple duplication. What could be the problem?

    I'm writing a game which uses 3D models to draw a scene (top-down orthographic projection), but a 2D physics engine to calculate response to collisions, etc. I have a few 3D assets for which I'd like to be able to automatically generate a hitbox by 'slicing' the 3D mesh with the X-Y plane and creating a polygon from the resultant edges. Google is failing me on this one (and not much helpful material on SO either). Suggestions?

For example, I'm trying to match the string "variable length" in the string "[a lot of whitespaces and/or tabs]variable length lookbehind", and I have something like this but it does not go well in various RegExp testers: ^(?<=[ \t]+).+(?= lookbehind) If it's an illegal pattern, what would be a good workaround to it?     Is there any Informix documentation for optimizing any operating system where an ifx engine is running? For example, in Linux, strip-down to a bare minimum all unnecessary binaries, daemons, utilities, tune kernel parameters, optimize raw and cooked devices (hdparm), place swap space on beginning tracks of a disk, etc. Someday, maybe, Informix can create its own proprietary and dedicated PICK-like O/S to provide the most optimized environment for a standalone ifx server? The general idea is for the OS where ifx sits on have the smallest footprint and lowest overhead impact.

    I am trying to insert into a table using the input from another table. Although this is entirely feasible for many database engines, I always seem to struggle to remember the correct syntax for the SQL-Engine of the day (MySQL, Oracle, SQLServer, Informix, DB2). I've been wondering if there is a silver-bullet syntax coming from an SQL Standards (For example, SQL92) that would allow me to insert the values without worrying about the underlying database.

  • Error when restoring SSAS cube: MemberKeyesUnique element at line xxx cannot appear under (...)/Hier

    Hi, I'm getting this error when trying to restore an SSAS database from a backup: The ddl2:MemberKeysUnique element at line 63, column 4862 (namespace http://schemas.microsoft.com/analysisservices/2003/engine/2) cannot appear under Load/ObjectDefinition/Dimension/Hierarchies/Hierarchy. Google hasn't turned up any helpful solutions. (a lot of people found that installing SP2 made the error go away but this has always previously worked in our environment) I don't really understand what the error means. Can somebody interpret or suggest a fix? Thanks, Phil
