    After uninstalling Dell's wireless utility I get a new hardware found dialog that can not find any driver for my wifi card on it's own. I'm running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3, and I would like to use the default wifi handler since dell's utility does not work with my company's wireless switch.     I want to run script when my mac is idle (for example after 5 minutes or screen saver start time is also ok) and when I resume it from idle state. I know that I can write daemon using NSDistributedNotificationCenter and com.apple.screenIsLocked and com.apple.screenIsUnlocked, but I hope that there is already solution without creating new daemon. I need this to for example turn on/off speed limit for Transmission (as it is sometimes hard to work when hashing/downloading on full speed).

    I just ran a clean install of windows 7 this morning, installed all the latest updates, and I'm now trying to install Office Ultimate 2007 that I purchased last year from the Office Ultimate Steal. It was running fine under windows xp, but when I try to run the installer in windows 7, I get an error message that says: The installation of this package failed I have tried the following: Running the installer as administrator Running the installer under windows xp (SP3) compatability Mode Re downloading the installer (I have it saved to my dropbox account, I can't redownload it from Microsoft) Any help that you can provide would be great!

    Can anybody please guide me how to download the sun studio from CLI. I was using wget and lynx programs but not worked. As I have only SSH access to my server and I cant not download it on local machine and upload it on server, will be bad option for me as it will take hours to upload. Sun Studio download requires registration + authentication. I have both but not sure how to include those options while downloading via CLI.

  • Host timeout during file upload/download over SFTP/SSH

    I tried different clients because i thought its client related, but all of them sooner or later disconnect or stop uploading/downloading files, and getting a timeout disconnect. After a reconnect it works again for a bit of time. Really strange cannot figure out the reason. I'm on a mac and the server is a debian VPS! If u need further informations ask please! I appreciate any tips, because i'm kinda stuck!

    so I've been trying to reencode a .mp4 video I have into a .avi so my cousin can use it on his Windows machine. He's not very tech-savvy, and doesn't want to deal with downloading any new programs to open .mp4 videos, but thats beside the point. The current string I'm using is ffmpeg -i Courage.Under.Fire.1996.BRRip.H264.AAC.5.1ch.Gopo.mp4 -sameq -acodec copy -vcodec copy CourageUnderFire.avi It produces the video, however doesn't give me any audio. Any assistance?

    The error when trying to open MS Office is that there is no file association & another error when trying to open individual progs is - side bt side configuration is incorrect. The suite has been working perfectly until last week ( no significant changes to system ) I have tried downloading the VC++ & uninstalled & reinstalled twice, even deleted the registry entry for office 2010 before reinstall but have had no success. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    I downloaded garageband from mac app store but something happend with my internet connection - probably connection crashed - and downloading (or installing) stopped. When apps instalation didnt start, then I cklicked on install button at Mac AppStore. In Launchpad was created new icon of garageband which was downloaded again and internet connection crashed again.   • Google Chrome on Mac OS X, full screen option is greyed out, why?

    When I first installed Chrome the menu option for "full screen" was enabled and worked, but for the last few months is been greyed out/disabled. Is it just me or perhaps there is a bug which is why its disabled? I tried deleting the installed version and downloading a new copy, to no avail - but perhaps there is a setting in my local preferences that could be disabling it. Thanks in advance, Chris

    I've got an Acer Aspire One running Linux. When I connect to my building's wifi, everything seems fine for a short period of time (I can google a few things or start downloading an Apt package), but then other devices on the network lose their IP addresses. Shortly after that, my computer also gets disconected. My computer is set to use DHCP. What causes this, and do you know how it could be fixed? Am I causing a broadcast storm?

    I'm trying to check my antivirus protection downloading the EICAR test program as usual. The antivirus pops up an alert on the download (that's ok), but I cannot run the EICAR.COM program because it's an 16-bit program and I'm running Win7 64bit. I can run the program on DosBox but it's not the same thing as running it directly from the OS. Is there any antivirus test program like EICAR for 64 bit Windows? TIA, Pablo

    I use a MAC and I want to completely block ads on my Google Chrome browse. What I mean by completely is that I don't want the ads to be just hidden. I understand that Google Chrome adblock addons currently hide ads, but can't prevent them from downloading. Is there a work around to this problem?     I've been using (and enjoy using) Windows 7 through bootcamp on my mac for some time now. The only problem I've been having is with the audio, I seem to get a low hissing noise which is more prevalent when wearing headphones. Whilst it's not stopping me from using Windows 7 it's something I'd like fixed. I've tried downloading the latest drivers from Realteks website, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

    I'm trying to run shutdown.exe -l -t 10 only showed shutdown help manual. I thought of inelegant but working solution of ping -n 10 localhost shutdown.exe -l How wasteful is this solution? I thought of downloading sleep.exe, but I want my bat file to work on a machine with no previous preparations. Any more ideas? Thanks
