  I've been using (and enjoy using) Windows 7 through bootcamp on my mac for some time now. The only problem I've been having is with the audio, I seem to get a low hissing noise which is more prevalent when wearing headphones. Whilst it's not stopping me from using Windows 7 it's something I'd like fixed. I've tried downloading the latest drivers from Realteks website, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

• List Squid's internal ip:port to external ip:port mapping table

  I'm assuming that squid keeps a list of internal ip:port that a request is made on and the matching external ip:port that the request is fulfilled with. In the case of a long transfer, such as a file download, it would be nice to be able to see which internal ip:port is downloading the file. I am able to see the traffic and get the external ip:port that squid is using easily with tcpdump or iptraf but I can't find a way to map this back to an internal ip:port.

  My iPhone 3GS doesn´t show up in the Scanners and Cameras tool when I connect it via USB to Windows XP. Nor does the Camera Wizard pop up. How do I make Windows XP detect the device as a Camera? I currently have no way of downloading photos from the iPhone to my computer. iTunes does recognize the device, but it doesn't offer a way to synchronize photos. Thanks for your help.

  Hello There are a couple of videos on the Web whose soundtracks I'd like to rip so I can listen to them at the gym, but all of the web apps like KeepVid that I tried failed downloading them. As a work-around, I'll just play the videos and record the soundtrack for later listening. Are there good applications for Windows, free or affordable, that will let me record whatever is being played on the soundcard? Thank you.

• Managing two internet connections in Windows XP, with different applications using different connections

  I have two internet connections, one has limited data but is fast, the other has unlimited data but is slow. What am trying to do is assign the unlimited data connection to the application which is downloading a large file, while surfing the net (using Firefox) with the other, faster connection. I tried connecting both connections, but every time I do that, all the applications just jump from the slower connection to the faster one. Is there any way in which I could achieve what I am looking for?

  Hi. i know that in Linux i can stream using vlc and ffmpeg. i was able to successfully stream using vlc but only in static bitrates. i must set 400k/s or 800k/s. i want it to use as much upload bandwidth as it can consume. so if my internet line is not busy and i'm not downloading anything the quality will be better. is it possible to do such a thing?

  I need to simulate verilog on my Macbook Pro for school. I've tried downloading, configuring, and installing icarus and veriwell. The make test works for icarus, but not for veriwell, neither of them are recognized by the terminal. The command I'm using is: iverilog hello.vl and veriwell hello.vl Terminal claims that neither of these commands exist... I'm very new at configuring tools with the terminal, but I think the issue is just USING the program afterwards. Any ideas?

Please help, I've tried download KeePassHttp using multiple links from github and passifox itself using Firefox and even wget. Also I've tried pinging http://localhost:19455 but nothing was found. Any ideas I'm at a loss.

  We are using the basic Verizon router but it sucks so we're looking for a new one that allows us to limit users and our hadoop cluster to certain limits. Our problem is one person can start downloading something and kill the network and every hour we download logs into our cluster but it floods the network unless we rate limit it. Ideally we want to be able to say: total: 35 mbps Hadoop Cluster (15 mbps) Phones (1 mbps) Office(25 people) (19mbps but no one machine can have more than 5mbps)

  I've been using an SSH proxy to my home network to encrypt my internet surfing, which is fine. But the connection is much slower than the direct one, and when I'm downloading large files I'd rather go around the proxy. Currently, I send it to Downthemall, go to FoxyProxy and disable the proxy, cancel and resume the download, then when it's started go back to FoxyProxy and re-enable it. How exactly can a tracker figure out how much data was uploaded and downloaded by each user? My understanding is that a BitTorrent tracker is merely a registry of users that are currently downloading/seeding and that peers, once connected, transfer data directly. So I wouldn't think that the tracker would know anything about the amount of data transferred, much less, where it came from.
